Check out some exclusive footage we got while taking a tour of Damon Dash’s new creative space DD172 which incorporates an office with a music studio and art gallery – and as The Village Voice put it, is is meant to be “New York’s last line of defense against wack world”. After he gives us a spin through the beautiful space in New York’s Tribeca Dame takes us into the studio and gets candid about his new artist Curren$y and his refreshing new approach to the music business. Speaking of Ski Beatz, he and Dame (you’re gonna have to turn up the volume each time to hear Dame speak) sit down with YRB to talk about the story behind about 24 Hour Karate School, the past and why Curren$y might be the next Jay-Z.

The Khalifa Man links up with the Philadelphia based electronic band The Disco Biscuits to record a new joint called Sweat Box at DD172 (footage via Creative Control). Sounding good so far… I’ma need that (full) mp3 asap. And while I’m at it, anyone got more info on The Disco Biscuits? The chick’s voice is pretty dope.

So this summabidge (featuring the likes of Jay Electronica, Curren$y, Mos Def, Jim Jones, The Cool Kids, Dame Dash, Nikki Wray, Jean Grae and more) finally has a release date: Feruary FifTeef. Perhaps another dope project dropping, yes? Props to Creative Control.

Jay-Z’s secretary and Jay-Z’s former boss exchange pleasantries while in London. I’m thinking Jay & Bleek were there for a show, while Dame was there ducking the alphabet boys out here. You know, with it being tax season and all. Props to PDS.

CreativeControlTV put up a slew of footage. Up top, Mos Def and Ski Beatz record a track called Taxi. While after the jump you can catch everything from The Cool Kids and Jay Electronica performing to Nicole Wray, Stalley, Ras Kass and Tabi Bonney recording with Ski Beatz to Curren$y lighting up two joints at Electric Factory in Philly. And more…

Yep, you read the title right. Check as Spitta and Jenny work on a record that will be featured on Ski Beatz’ 24 Hour Karate School mixtape.

From the incredible dope BlakRoc project to having a hand in the creation of Mos Def, Jay Electronica and Curren$y’s new group, Center Edge Territory. Dame Dash has been the man as of late. Here goes a recent feature with StreetLevel where Dame speaks on how he plans to revolutionize the net with directors Coodie & Chike (and creativecontrol.tv). Check as he talks about where he’s been and where he’s going with Creative Control, the DD172 space and “Karate School.”

Raekwon joins Dame Dash and The Black Keys in the studio to record his verse for the ever so dope BlakRoc project (which is available now).
