After doing a year and 9 months in prison. Da Brat documents her experience after gaining her freedom with her new Brat Chornicles web series.

This cover “art” is turrible…
So, yesterday Jermaine Dupri announced a So So Def 20-year reunion concert featuring essentially everybody who was signed to the label at one point, from Da Brat to Jagged Edge, Xscape to Bow Wow, and – my personal favorite – the reunion of Kriss Kross. If they can pull out Mr. Black for a rip-roaring live rendition of “Live & Die For Hip Hop,” however, that’s when I’ll really be impressed. Anyways, enjoy this track by Da Brat-Tat-Tat-Tat… or she’ll crack your skullcap open with a bottle like she did that one broad a few years back.

JD and his So So Def comrades (the folks listed above, plus Dondria and Fresco Kane) take on Game’s Jesus Piece single.

It’s great to see Da Brat back at it, but it’s still a bitter reminder that Jermaine Dupri was never a good rapper at all. I take that back; I liked his verse on “Funkdafied,” but I was also in junior high school when that came out. Props to Nav.

Another rapid-fire showcase from Da Brat, this time over what literally sounds like JD tried to recreate “All Of The Lights.” Good grief.

I’m pretty sure that “sultry, sexy” version of Shawntae Harris vanished once she entered prison for cracking a bottle over that chick’s skullcap a few years back. Let’s just hope she doesn’t take to insulting Onika in a flaccid effort to restart her career again and continues doing this type of violence instead. Props to Rap-Up.

The last time I heard of Brat, she was sent up north for crashing a bottle over some chick’s head at a nightclub three years ago. Now, according to ice, she’s on work release for the next few until she’s finally a free woman.
