D.Julien rocks over the Blueprint cut for the 107th installment of DJBooth.net’s Freestyle Series. I’ve also included 108, which is by Massachusetts-born emcee Amiyj.
In this part D. Julien discusses the inspiration for the “Baby It’s Over” record, me not using the “N” word or cursing on his records, how music specifically within the hip hop culture really comes full circle and more.
Something new off the DMV resident’s upcoming Live, Love, Learn, produced entirely by Soulful. SHAKE UPDATE: Umm… somehow, Meka mistook this as a song off D.Julien’s (who is from Brooklyn, not the DMV) new project when in fact it’s the whole thing. Entirely produced by Soulful.
The (blogging) homie BuckMarley just dropped the first volume of his We Got Next mixtape series; with DJ Tech Support on the mix. The tape features a few (2)dope supported artists (XV, 810, PreZZure, The Black Sunn, D. Julien) as well as some others I haven’t heard of myself. It shouldn’t hurt to download and give it a try though.
Waddup! Hope everything’s smooth. I’m back with the FIRST joint off the NEW project Live, Love, Learn, which drops on July 1st!! This new joint is titled “Absolute Perfection”, which is what I strive for everytime I grace the mic. It’s produced by this dope producer out of the DMV area called Soulful! He actually did the whole tape. Can’t wait for you to hear the whole project! Only about a month away now.
