After linking up as the producer on G.Dot & Born’s underground hit “Makin’ Tracks” featuring Edo G., Confidence and Boston hip-hop legend Edo G. continued to build and soon came to the descision to work on a collaboration project. Ill Adrenaline Records and Soul Tools are now proud to announce a mini album/EP by the MC/producer duo slated for release this summer on Ill Adrenaline Records, the label home of Beneficence, Rashad & Confidence, Neek The Exotic, Purpose & Tragic Allies, Rob-O, B-1, Frankenstein and The Legion. With promotion/marketing backing by Soul Tools, this project is destined to be a classic including a tribute track to a living hip-hop legend. This video goes into short detail about the EP release by Edo G. & Confidence but also touches on Confidence’s producer community, The School of Confidence.
The School of Confidence is an online virtual beat school created by Confidence to help hip-hop producers world wide improve and advance their career in authentic production. It also gives students the opportunity to gain access to labels and artists in order to help to get their music placed. The school is set to go live July 13th, 2013. Ill Adrenaline Records and Edo G. are behind it so you know it’s got to be official. Join the community here.
First leak off 7 G.E.M.S.’ “Golden Era Music Sciences” which will feature guest appearances from Roc Marciano, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Killah Priest and more.
Hailing from Lynn, Massachusetts, the Tragic Allies trio Purpose, Estee Nack and Code Nine team up with Queensbridge veteran Tragedy Khadafi aka Intelligent Hoodlum to form the group “7 G.E.M.S.”. The album entitled “Golden Era Music Sciences” delivers that raw, sinister, dusty and mellow-dramatic 90′s boom-bap retro style sound, laying the perfect platform for the message of enlightenment, elevation and expression the group offers its listeners on this 16-track heater.
While super-producer Confidence handled all the production on the critically acclaimed underground classic “The Purpose of Confidence” (Ill Adrenaline Records, 2012), Purpose just concentrated on showcasing his excellent and sharp lyrical rhyme skills. But this time the Tragic Allies frontman (who already worked with Killah Priest, Big Shug, Bronze Nazareth, Epidemic, etc.) is not only able to shine on the mic, he also takes charge of stellar beats for the entire album.
The homie Confidence, fresh off two dope projects: Purpose x Confidence – The Purpose of Confidence and Confidence x Rashad – The Element of Surprise has teamed up with Detroit outfit The Regiment for a double sided single. Stream the A/B-sides below and cop on limited edition wax via Ill Adrenaline. Also, for all up-and-coming producers, hit up Confidence’s School of Confidence fan page: “An online virtual beat school to help people all over the world improve and advance their career in Hip Hop production while gaining access to labels and artists to get your music placed.”
The legendary Masta Ace joins Beneficence on this Weirdo (of Crazeology) produced banger, accompanied by some clean cuts by Total Eclipse of The X-ecutioners. Off the upcoming Ill Adrenaline Records album Concrete Soul dropping Oct. 30th digitally, and in December on CD and wax.
Visuals for Purpose x Confidence’s Unstoppable off the upcoming LP, The Purpose of Confidence out Sept. 18 on Ill Adrenaline Records. If you’re not familiar with the beast on the MPC that is Confidence, make sure to check out his project with Rashad.
Ill Adrenaline Records is back with another classic release! Purpose, founding member of the group Tragic Allies, teams up with extraordinary producer Confidence of Rashad & Confidence fame to bring you the first single off the forthcoming full length “The Purpose of Confidence”. “Vision of Excellence” features none other than Queensbridge legend Cormega along with Tragic Allies member Estee Nack and cuts by D.J. We originally announced the top 6 contenders for The City remix contest a few weeks back. After some special consideration and a few emails regarding the voting process, both Confidence & Ill Adrenaline have come to a single winner: Max Capolaretti. Read the quote below.
Ill Adrenanline had received a couple of emails regarding the voting on 2DB. Since there appears to be some tampering with the voting, Ill Adrenaline, Rashad and Confidence took the top 3 voted tracks and picked a winner ourselves. The winning remix goes to Max Capolaretti for his great remix of “The City.” Max will be awarded a copy of the Rashad/Confidence Vinyl, The Legion 7″, a Golden-Era Hip Hop t-shirt from Madina along with an interview on The Conspiracy Worldwide Radio Show. Thank you to all the contestants. For the remaining top 5 picks, we will have something special planned for them. It was a dope turnout and we appreciate all the love and support shown on the remix contest and for the album.
Earlier this year, the dopehouse teamed up with producer Confidence & Ill Adrenaline Records for a remix contest to Rashad & Confidence’s The City. The cut to be remixed is off Rashad’s debut album, The Element of Surprise produced entirely by Confidence. Since we launched the contest, we’ve received more than 300 submissions. So you can imagine it was difficult to have to narrow it down to these top 6. Some were straight trash, others were well crafted. We figured we’d let the dopehouse narrow it down further from the top 6. So, without further ado, here are the top picks. Vote after the jump. Peace to all who participated.
UPDATE (May 23rd): Voting has officially ended. We’ll tally everything up and have a new post for the winner real soon. Thanks for participating and peace to all who submitted their remixes in!
Attention all up-and-coming producers! The dopehouse has linked up with the good folks at Ill Adrenaline Records for a nice little contest to remix a cut off Rashad & Confidence’s one-two punch, back to the basics album, The Element of Surprise. A personal favorite, the album gets steady burn on the iPod and proves that the one producer, one MC formula still works wonders. Check the info and grab the a cappella below, then hit the jump for info on the Prize package. UPDATE: Download link for original added; new a capella properly tagged at 90 BPM coming soon too.
2 Dope Boyz and Ill Adrenaline are pleased to present the official Rashad & Confidence remix contest! Since the duo’s critically acclaimed “The Element of Surprise” album dropped at the end of November 2011 (vinyl version scheduled to drop in April), fans worldwide have embraced the movement and the sounds these two aspiring artists have contributed to the culture. Now we’ve given producers an opportunity to remix one of the album’s best tracks, “The City.” This urban tale is filled with knowledge, wit and intellect on what it’s like growing up in the concrete jungle. This is a serious song and we expect nothing but high caliber boom bap production in order to win. Take your time with this one because the prize package is tough and you’re given a chance to get immediate exposure with your winning entry. Best of luck to all contestants!
