Jay-Z goes through “Public Service Announcement,” “U Don’t Know” and “99 Problems” in the capital of my home country. I wonder if any of my relatives that I don’t talk to out there attended this show. Spotted at Smarten Up Nas (via eskay’s).

More footage of Nasir performing some stuff of Untitled. Cameos from Green Lantern, Fabolous, DJ Enuff, etc. Shouts to BoBo as usual.
What’s a day without a Nas post? Especially when we’re a few hours from the 15th of July. Sav just shot me this performance of Nas at ALIFE in NYC. I didn’t post, but Nas and ALIFE teamed up for a pretty sweet t-shirt/lighter collaboration. Nation posted more on it. If anyone grabs the lighter and doesn’t want it, yodel at Shake!

Another day of sleeping in? Yes, please! Brothers Like & Mibbs with longtime friend BeYoung tear down LA’s The Key Club for okayplayerTV. Check above for a nice little interview, then after the jump for the goods. Be on the lookout this Summer for their Role Players blendtape, then later on for their major label debut, The Grown Kid Syndrome.

When I saw this line up on MySpace or something I got crazy jealous of all dopeboyz and dopegirlz in that area. Dah well, I’ll be chillin with TM this weekend so it’s cool. Wale was joined by the legendary go-go band UCB, Blu & Exile, AOK, Che Grand, DJ Getlive, and more while Skillz came out as a special geust. Co-hosted by Peter Rosenberg & Sucio Smash.
Curtis & Co. celebrate 50′s birthday in Las Vegas Jr. Apparently the trio performed for 2hr45min. Damn, that’s one long set. There are very few acts I could watch for that long. VERY few. MissInfo, DJ Envy, Freeway, etc make appearances. And since we’re on the G-Unit side of things, I came across a Yayo-less version of T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight). How cool is that? I remember, someone did the same thing to Baby on the album with Lil Wayne. Want it? Click click click.
I was just about to head out for some pizza when waxx hit me with a link to this video. During a set at the Warper Tour, Gym Class Heroes front man was wild out on a fan for calling him an fucking ignorant nigger. Travis perceeded to mollywhop dude over the head with his mic. Being arrested for third-degree assault and later released on $500 bail. Hit MTV for the full scoop.
Speaking of Gym Class, this gives me a chance to talk about the show. I saw Gym Class Heroes, Academy Is… and Cobra Starship last week. All three acts were pretty dope. Gym Class in particular. I have NO clue what one of the comment people were talking about when they said they sucked live. Complete opposite. From doing all their previous material to a cover of Prince’s When Doves Cry to performing some new joints, including this crazy infectious cut (Peace Sign) which will feature Busta Rhymes on the upcoming album, The Quilt. I can’t wait til they get on tour with The Roots. That is gonna be amazing. Put your peace signs up, put your index down! And yes, rare and unreleased Gym Class Heroes is still on the way haha…
Ben over at AlwaysHustle just recovered some lost footage from Blu & Exile’s 6/6/08 show @ The Henry Fonda Music Box in Hollywood . I promise I’m gonna upload my footage from the Blu & Exile x Joe Budden show. Both my laptop and computer are being bitches about accepting the raw video in order for me to edit it. Stupid shit! Above is Narrow Path. Hit the jump for a few other cuts…
S.O.U.L. Purpose emcee, Mazzi, performs at SOBs in NY. Shouts to Young Sav. BOBO have been on a roll lately, sheeeeeit.
I lost contact with Torae for quite sometime. Shit I didn’t even realize he was across seas until he told me when he got back ha. It’s good to see him still grinding though. Check above as he performs a Pete Rock produced cut that will be dropping after his upcoming Double Barrel project with Marco Polo. Also, Tor was nominated for Best Lyricist in the 2008 Underground Music Awards. HipHopDX was nominated as well. Voting starts tomorrow (July1st) and ends July31st. So be sure to g-g-get to it!
Just what I thought, more footage came out from Glastonbury 2008. I wasn’t expecting the full Hov show, but it’s all here. Despite all the fuckery that came along with this, it’s really a great step for hip hop as a whole. I wish Shake was in the audience. Him opening up to Wonderwall was genius. This shit is well over 30 minutes long, so make sure you clear some of your schedule. UPDATE: KNOWxONE hit me with the audio in good quality so that’s included to. Hit the jump for the rest…
Kanye urges people to vote in the new Choose Or Lose campaign. So I guess we’re not dying if we don’t vote this time around. Register to vote and make a difference people (Shake will be). ChooseOrLose.com. Speaking of Kanye, he’s called a cunt by Amy Winehouse (which was before or after her going Ron Artest on a fan) and takes the upper road with his response. Good for him.
