Complex just dropped a pretty comedic feature of celebrities posting lyrics from G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album on their status updates on Facebook and the Lauryn Hill one above is hilarious. Check out the rest over at their site.
Now this is something worth taking a look at. All my west coast denizens, take a trip down memory lane as ‘Plex Row covers everybody from Sam Sneed to WC & The Madd Circle in this list of some of the best songs to ever come from Los Angeles. Interesting note: in a testament to how big an influence he was, a large chunk of these artists can be traced back “Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon”-style to Dr. Dre.
Our family over at Complex compiled a list of the 50 worst album fails in hip hop history. Check what they had to say about Nas’ Nastradamus below, then head over to their site for the complete list.
Any albums, the dopeboyz/girlz want to add to the list?
From Ab-Soul to Casey Veggies, Complex compiled a list of hip-hop acts you should be checking for in the near future. I wholeheartedly disagree with that last entry, however.
The folks over at Complex just tossed up their latest compilation, this time being some of the best rap magazine covers to have ever been produced. Unless there’s any covers from Fish ‘N Grits, this list is null & void though.
Next Tuesday, Complex and McDonald’s DJ Flavor Battle will come a conclusion in NYC at Arena. Fabolous will be hosting while DJ Jayceeoh, Steph Floss and Hella Yella will be facing off for a $10k cash prize. Anyone looking to attend, please RSVP here.
To help celebrate the launch of NBA Jam, Complex is hosting an event at Vault in Harlem this Thursday (7-9PM). DJ Soul will be spinning, Jose Cuervo is stocking the bar and Vado and The Kid Daytona are hosting. Should be a great night.
The funny thing is, as I got this email the homie E-Dub shot over this site called DressLikeKanye. *dies* Anyways, the folks at Complex got ‘Ye for their latest cover. As well as an interview, they got an insight into the making of his latest album (now available), as well as shots in Hawaii while during the album’s creation. The issue drops next month.
Hear-ye, hear-ye, readers. It’s the holiday season and what better way to celebrate the holidays then playing all the video games coming out this year? Competition is fun and all but let’s be honest, it’s not whether you win or lose, its how much smack talk you can throw their way. When it comes to talking smack, we’re the people to look for. Still our skills are too precious to share with the world. That’s why we developed our Celebrity Smack Talk Soundboard. We’ve compiled the best sound bites from all your favorite trash-talking athletes, actors, rappers, politicians, and even a player hater of the year. We’d love to stick around, but we’ve got 12-year-olds to son online. Enjoy!
As I’m sure you’ve seen on the site as of late, Coca-Cola has teamed up with the Complex Media Network to connect three folks to the worlds of Entertainment, Fashion and Music for an apprenticeship. Quanie got the chance to work in the Music side of things and interned at Universal Motown for a week. Follow her experience over at the Complex x Coca-Cola micro-site now.
Who’s up to the task of outpointing KiD CuDi and his now-infamous Complex interview? The black Lady Gaga, it seems. Behind-the-scenes footage down bottom.
