Tomorrow (October 20th), I’ll be the in-house music coordinator for CPP Marketing’s 7th Annual CMJ Showcase, headlined by the likes of Meyhem Lauren, Maffew Ragazino, Raven Sorvino, Rasheed Chappell and more. It’s a day show also, so since I know most of you all don’t do anything on weekends (including me), why not come out for a free rap show while the sun is actually up? Hope to see you all there.
The CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival kicks off tonight in New York City with a full schedule of performances. Hit the jump for all the flyers and info.
Some live footage of Mike Posner doing his thing at CMJ. Soundboard audio (courtesy of AllTheWayLive) and multi-cam HD. This is how you record live footage people.
This is what I’ve been waiting for, the official footage (not that flipcam bullshit) from NahRight & OnSMASH‘s CMJ showcase that went down last week. Featuring performances from Outasight (shown above), Curren$y, Raekwon, Styles P, Jadakiss, KiD CuDi, Kidz in the Hall, Donnis, Pill, Emilio Rojas and more.
Considering I missed out on all things CMJ this past week, I’m really glad something like this was put together. A dope podcast of the Can I Get You High shocase that featured Bilal, Blu & Exile, Pharoahe Monch, Large Professor, DJ Spinna, J Rocc, Shafiq Husayn & Blu Jemz. Check the sneak peak below that features:
an intro a capella from Pharoahe Monch, Exile live on the MPC, then a short set w/ Blu announcing the upcoming new Blu/Exile album while performing a new song, moving onto an exclusive DJ set w/ Large Professor, then a classic record-for-record set from both J Rocc and Dj Spinna, this audio snippet is at top sound quality making the experience something that will last for years to come.

Above you can check Pill’s performance during NahRight & OnSMASH’s CMJ Showcase, Better Recognize. Then after the jump he proves he’s more than just a rapper from the trap, during his time w/ Kay Slay on Shade45.
Saturday was the final night of CMJ Week, and last night at the Blender Theatre the entire Duck Down roster closed the curtain in what was easily my favorite show of the week. Here are the highlights of the show, and once again props to Audible Treats, Duck Down and Coal Mine for allowing us to be a part of their respective shows. 2DB x SWSW? Let’s hope so…
XV and Mike Posner rocked out SOBs for CMJ 2009. Performing their remix which will finally find it’s home of Posner’s upcoming mixtape, One Foot Out The Door.
Here’s more footage of The Ghost and Al Qaeda Jada’s CMJ set. As much fun as I’ve had, I’m glad this week is finally over. 2DB x Duck Down’s CMJ footage to come later today.
Here’s footage of the Hot Spitta doing his thing at BB King’s during CMJ week. Real talk, for my first time experiencing this, I must say that I’ve had a lot of fun hitting up these various shows.
For 2DB’s second act at CMJ, we co-sponsored the Audible Treats’ CMJ ’09 Showcase. It was definitely really exciting to see so many wonderfully talented acts each do their thing on stage, and it was especially dope to see the Souls of Mischief crew get a lot of love from a notoriously tough New York crow (word to OJ Da Juiceman). Excuse the long footage, but once you see that I had to compile a four-plus hour long show into 20 minutes, I think it’s worth it. Don’t forget; the final 2DB-sponsored show is tonight [hit the jump for the flyer].
