Yesterday, Celph Titled unleashed a Four Course Meal over some vintage Buckwild production. A promo track he released for his upcoming album with Buck, Nineteen Ninety Now, which is in stores October 26th. Folks that have been following Celph through out his career might also remember when he ate some DJ Premier beats in the same fashion. And if you haven’t, I suggest you grab The Gatalog: A Collection of Chaos and get familiar. 4 discs of absolute heat.
Celph goes for self over some of Buckwild’s vintage productions (listed in the blockquote below). Celph Titled & Buckwild’s Nineteen Ninety Now drops October 26th.
Artifacts – C’mon Wit Da Git Down (rmx)
Bushwackas – Caught Up in the Game
Little Indian – One Little Indian (rmx)
Big L – Put It On
Nineteen Ninety Now is finally here and a hip-hop renaissance is about to begin! The art form is brought full-circle through this groundbreaking collaboration between underground giant Celph Titled and production legend Buckwild (D.I.T.C.)!
Showing that the lessons from the past can be combined with the innovations of the present, these two heavyweight artists have joined forces to create a neo-classic. By having uninhibited access to Buckwild’s original mid-90’s production, Celph Titled was able to select and record to over 16 unreleased D.I.T.C. bangers; bringing his charismatic flow and lyrical prowess to each one.
Guest appearances from D.I.T.C. (A.G., O.C., Diamond D), Treach (of Naughty by Nature), Vinnie Paz (of Jedi Mind Tricks), Brand Nubian (Grand Puba, Sadat X), R.A. The Rugged Man, Chino XL, Demigodz (Apathy, Ryu, Esoteric), F.T. (of Street Smartz) and more.
The artwork came out with the last leak, but now we’ve got the tracklisting for Celph Titled and Buckwild’s upcoming collaborative effort.
Revisiting the classic SP-1200 and Akai-S950 sound that reigned supreme in Hip-Hop’s “Golden Era,” the beats on Nineteen Ninety Now were originally produced by Buckwild between the years of 1994-1995–but never recorded to. Buckwild fondly recalls what it was like to dig back into those crates “although I’ve stayed ahead of the times as a producer, it was a lot of fun to load up these old disks. Joints I forgot I even had, stuff I haven’t heard in 15-years. It was definitely a welcomed experiment that turned out amazing. Further, he comments on the concept he and Celph embarked on and its possibilities in the future “essentially this is a concept album that’s a first of its kind. I wanted to be able to resurrect a 90′s sound that once was and combine it with 2010 rhymes. I consider this album to be monumental because it could literally not only change the game, but change the way people feel. Dudes complain about the game but they ain’t doing anything. Nobody has done this concept before us. I wouldn’t be surprised if this creates a demand for other MC’s and producers who were around in the 90′s to get together and dig through shoeboxes of floppy disks to feed the fans more of the lost sound they still crave for and I’m all for it.”
Ever since Apathy told me about this project I’ve been patiently waiting. The dope shit about Celph and Buckwild’s upcoming album, Nineteen Ninety Now (Oct. 26th), is that Celph was given access to the D.I.T.C. producer’s beat archives. Selecting tracks that were originally produced in ’94-95; and being joined by D.I.T.C. (AG x OC x Diamond D), Treach (of Naughty By Nature), Vinnie Paz (of Jedi Mind Tricks), Brand Nubian, R.A. the Rugged Man, Chino XL, Demigodz (Apathy x Ryu x Esoteric) and more.
Man… I remember Ap sending me an unfinished version of this with just his and Celph’s verses months ago. I had no clue Chino was gonna be on the final version though! Off Celph and Buckwild’s upcoming collaborative Nineteen Ninety Now LP. Which will feature Celph ripping over vintage unreleased Buckwild beats from the mid 90′s. Guest spots will include Treach (of Naughty By Nature), Vinnie Paz (of Jedi Mind Tricks), Ryu (of SOBs), A.G., Diamond D, Sadat X, Grand Puba, R.A. the Rugged Man, O.C., Lord Digga, Majik Most and more.
The homie Vega just shot over two new joints off the upcoming AOTP album, The Unholy Terror. Godzilla features Celph Titled, Jus Allah, Apathy, Planetary, King Magnetic & Vinnie Paz; while Contra Mantra has Crypt the Warchild, Esoteric and Celph Titled doing their thing.
Get ready for four mixtape posts in a row. Talk about a mass amount of material to check out! This should definitely be one of the first to check out though, as it boasts the highlights from Brown’s career as a producer. Including tracks with Apathy, Reef the Lost Cauze, Eternia, the Demigodz, Louis Logic, Ludacris, Poison Pen, R.A. the Rugged Man and more. The tape also introduces J.J. rocking the mic with exclusives and never before heard snippets from his upcoming album, Connect The Dots.
Along with Jake One’s incredibly dope White Van Music, another album that’s dropping on October 7th is the collaborative project from the East Coast Avengers (Esoteric, trademarc & DC the Midi Alien) entitled Prison Planet. As the self-proclaimed indie head of the NMC I take it as my duty to share some dope music that won’t really hit the blogosphere like a Jay-Z or Cool Kids record. Here goes two joints off the album. Termanology & Apathy join in on Vengeance while Celph Titled & Statik Selektah guest star on East Coast Overdose.
