Soaring West Coast artists Kendrick Lamar (who helped launch the adidas Originals 2011 boot collection), Dom Kennedy, YG and Casey Veggies recently shut down Los Angeles for the adidas Original & MMXLII present RESPECT THE WEST showcase. Hosted in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, RESPECT THE WEST catered a unique, live-music experience to over 400 industry tastemakers and influencers, which coincided with the famed sneaker convention, Sneaker Con.
Along with exciting performances from all four rising artists and a DJ set by DJ Drewbyrd, RESPECT THE WEST was complete with an open bar, delicious food trucks, fun photo booths and of course amazing adidas Original giveaways.
I would have attended this solely for the food. Everybody that knows me knows that all I do is eat. Los Angeles, when I get there tomorrow there better be some similar shit for me to do.
Ta is another artist from the bubbling West Coast rap scene, gearing up to drop his debut project The Popular Stranger in January. Here is the first single from that project.
