It’s about damn time! When I first got this in my inbox, I thought I was preparing myself to see an atrocious portrayal of Robert Nesta Marley played by some American with a Jafaican accent. Fortunately, this looks to be a refreshing and original documentary about the legendary musician, songwriter, activist, leader and philanthropist. Appearances by Lee Scratch Perry, Jimmy Cliff, Bunny Wailer, son Ziggy Marley and widow Rita, and directed by Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scottland). He ain’t Hip-Hop. I beg to differ; if you’ve done your research, the entire culture of Hip-Hop owes a great debt to reggae music. Rest in power, Bob Marley!

Rihanna will be performing the Bob Marley cover on Oprah for the Haiti special. Seriously, why couldn’t they have an actual Marley cover this song. Props to X.
