So the Soul Assassins caught wind of this insanity tag team track from Reflection Eternal, Black Star, J. Cole and Jay Electronica while at BoomBox’s 3rd Anniversary party two Saturdays ago. Why is it that when I attend these shits they’re nowhere near as dope, though?
Mos Def & Talib Kweli perform their collaboration off The Ecstatic. It’s that Black Star movement! Shouts to Yardie.

Earlier this month I changed gears and decided to switch up the What’s in the Tapedeck. Instead of a collection of tracks we missed and/or didn’t deserve their own posts, I will be compiling a mix of songs that I’m currently listening to. Giving ya’ll an insight to my musical preferences, etc. The first go around was welcomed with open speakers. I’m sure it will be the same with volume 2. Music from the likes of Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Supastition, Little Brother, Juelz Santana, J. Cole, Black Star, Big Pun, Method Man & Redman, Royce Da 5’9″, Juvenile and more.

Last night, Mos Def and Talib Kweli tore the Nokia NYC’s roof down performing through their respective catalogue of classic hits. Hopefully there will be better-sounding footage coming soon, but until that happens OGHH’s will have to do. Rap Radar came through with a lot of clear footage.

Meka posted some audience style footage of Black Star performing and now we get some HD shit. During Mos’ show on Grammy night, Talib joins him on stage and they perform Respiration & Definition. It’s the YearOfTheBlackSmith you suckaaaaaas.
