It’s Big Pun. The one and only son of Tony, Montana
You ain’t promised mañana in the rotten manzana
C’mon pana we be mob rhymers
Feel the marijuana, snake bite, anaconda
A man of honour wouldn’t wanna try to match my persona
Sometimes rhymin I blow my own mind like Nirvana
Comma, and go the whole nine like Madonna
Go try to find another rhymer with my kinda grammar
UPDATE: Head down bottom for a vintage interview with Big Pun and MTV, marking the release of his debut album Capital Punishment (which turns 15 years old today).
To commemorate Dilla Dawg’s 32nd birthday and the 13th anniversary of Big Pun’s untimely passing, Peter Rosenberg put together an hour-long mix of music from the fallen legends.
With today marking the 12th anniversary of Pun’s untimely passing and what would have been Dilla’s 38th birthday, I figured it was a good time to bring back a project we did with Cookin’ Soul a couple years ago to help pay homage to both the fallen legends. Big Pun raps. Dilla beats. It gets no better. Tracklist/download link after the jump.
In the latest untold story from Whoo Kid, he reminisces about a time when he cursed Pun out because he thought he was a promoter, only to get an uzi pulled out on him by Pum himself.
My clouded mind recalls seeing this on a DVD years back, maybe ’04 or ’05 and haven’t seen it since. So I stopped looking for awhile. I recently stumbled across it again while surfing the YouTube. Greatness to see these legends and dope emcees all in the same room.
