A few days ago I posted Deams’ Primo-produced “The Legacy,” now here’s another Premier-produced track courtesy of Bence. The Legacy EP drops September 9th.

I don’t know too much about Deams, so you can check out more info over at the DJ Premier Blog. However, it’s a well-known fact that I openly stan for DJ Premier, plus this song is kind of dope. Another track, “State Your Name” (in video format and guest-starring Big Daddy Kane, click here to purchase) is under the cut.
Three BDK posts in less than 24 hours? I like this trend! The above clip he speaks with D-Nice about the creation of Ain’t No Half Steppin’.

If I hadn’t had to travel an hour-plus from Brooklyn to Uptown to drop off my laptop, I would have stayed in town to watch this shit. Next time I’m just gonna befriend a cola bottle-shaped beauty and just leave my bags at her crib.
Now this is what you call being creative. The track itself was the standout on Fest’s The Manual mixtape. But this video just adds to it. Very dope. Shouts to Andrew.

Ali goes over one of my favorite Big Daddy Kane instrumentals for the 31st edition of DJ Booth’s freestyle series.

When I mentioned this tape in the Pass the Roc (Demo) post, the dopeboyz/girlz were going nuts. I’ve been bumping a review copy for the past 24 and this shit is dope. Definite download if your a fan of any of the artists. Crazy rare, unreleased and demo joints from the likes of Jay-Z, Big Daddy Kane & Biggie. Including Biggie rhyming at the age of 12, Hov at the age of 17 and more!

Linking up with 247HH, DJ Babu Rhettmatic sent this to me yesterday and I meant to post it but to be honest I was too involved with blasting it through my headphones to do anything else with it. You already know Rhett holds it the fuck down on the 1s & 2s and the artists shown in the image above should be bonus incentives to hitting the jump and enjoying some funk.
It’s a 30 minute mix with some Funk shit (not the P-Funk, but Funky Soul shit) & some classic & new Hip Hop shit. It’s something to get your James Brown on. Go ahead & share with your friends….and please feel free to post it up on your music blogs as well. Hope you like it…enjoy! – Rhettmatic
