The evening brings together some wildly diverse talent, including B.o.B, Santigold, Matt & Kim and Yung Skeeter. Just try to be bored with a lineup that amazingly eclectic. This coming Wednesday (April 3rd) Bobby Ray and Santigold join indie darlings Matt and Kim and, uh, Yung Skeeter (*blank stare*) for a showcase in one of the most random places in America: Boring, Oregon. That should be interesting.
Produced by Sonny Digital – the guy behind one of the most ignorantly hilarious songs I’ve ever heard in recent memory – this creative clip serves as the first offering from Bobby Ray’s new album, which will drop soon.
MTV’s 48-hour concert marathon kicked off today and extends until Monday, 6 A.M. ET, featuring performances by Joey Bada$$, Pusha T, and Trinidad James. In preparation for the non-stop concert, MTV asked B.o.B, Fabolous and Snoop to tell us their memories from their favorite rap concerts. What I would have given to be able to attend one show for that Hard Knock Life tour. Or the Def Jam Survival of the Illest tour.
While on set for T.I.’s “Memories Back When” video-shoot, B.o.B shares with MTV that he’d like his fans to help choose an album title.
I don’t have a title for the third LP, but if you want to help me come up with one tweet me @bobatl hashtag #thirdalbum.
Bobby Ray also speaks on the sound of his third album and promises progression.
Musically really I think it’s what you would expect from the whole scope of a B.o.B project, but just more refined. As time goes on I’m getting older, but at the same time I’m 24, I’m still young, I like to party, I like to party. I think a lot of my experiences just growing up in the spotlight and being a man and enjoying life are reflected in my work.
Bobby Ray and Big Boi join forces with a visual for their colllaborative track “Double or Nothing” which serves as the official theme song for EA’s upcoming third-person shooter, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel. EA is letting you play as B.o.B and Big Boi if you pre-orderArmy of Two: The Devil’s Cartel now.
T.I. and Rap-Up takes us on the set of his “Memories Back Then” music video with Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, and Kris Stephens. Though the track doesn’t appear on T.I.’s Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, T.I. told Rap-Up that he may make the song the first single from the upcoming Hustle Gang compilation.
Originally meant to live on Trouble Man, T.I.’s Kendrick Lamar and B.o.B assisted single “Memories Back Then” never saw the (retail) light of day because of sample-clearance issues revolving around Gotye’s smash-hit “Somebody I Used To Know”. Not one to let such a dope track be wasted, Tip had the track remixed and plans to officially release it sometime in the near future. While shooting the video in California, Tip gave MTV some background on the song and shares his thoughts on the updated version.
We just remixed it and did our own thing to it. Took the sample out so we wouldn’t have any trouble in our due diligence. I didn’t want to waste the opportunity because it was such great performances and such a meaningful message from myself, from Bob and from Kendrick.
I think the record is just as hot, if not hotter without the sample. No disrespect to the people whose record we sampled. If we could’ve done it that way we would’ve loved to, but we didn’t wanna step on no toes. I think it’s gonna be one of the year’s best collaboration records.
