Just got Danny‘s album, And I Love H.E.R., in the mail and I must say it’s one of the coolest inlays I’ve seen this year. Thanks for sending it through man. And thanks for the shout in the Thank You’s. Anyways… the album is FINALLY coming so get ready (it’s ridiculous). Check out his latest blog for a rundown of the release process. And to keep you wanting more, here is another self-produced joint featuring Maria.
Brand new video from Mickey Factz’ DJ, Melo-X. Some slick visuals off his instrumental album, Dusty Time Warped Vibes. With a name like that, how can you pass it up? Shouts to Artemus Jenkins on the direction credits as the documentary style shots capture a piece of this urban renaissance man’s life. Shake’s in a giving mood (for now) so why not include a link to the album. Thanks AJ!
Trailers seem to be the new thing in hip hop. Jay-Z had one for a music video for crying out loud. Dah well. NYOIL is readying his new album HooTREASON for a July 8th release on Babygrande.
So OcTo (the unnoficial dopeboy at large) hit me with an link to this. Now that Nas isn’t running with Nigger as the title, the previous artwork that was spread across the internets shouldn’t be used. This right here is the supposed new artwork. Waiting on complete confirmation but it def fits the subject matter (that I’m hoping will be on the album). What ya’ll think? UPDATE: For whatever reason some people are not seeing this so you can download here.
So it looks like Esco went back on his word (again) and will no longer be going with the title Nigger for his upcoming LP. Gee, like we all didn’t see that coming. I know I thought it, I know eskay thought it. What about all this “I’m gonna fight it. I’m at a big enough status that I can drop this. Who cares if some stores ban it.” talk?
According to EW.com, a Def Jam representative has confirmed that Nas will no longer be naming his upcoming project Nigger. Instead, Nasir Jones will opt for a less controversial title: Nas. – HipHopDX
Both Nas (Nas) and G-Unit (Terminate on Sight) are dropping July 1st. Who are you copping?
Nas speaks on his upcoming album to DJ Clue on Power105. Shouts to Young Sav and Steve-O, the Best of Both Offices for this. Stay tuned for pt.2. Check after the jump for Peter Rosenberg’s latest Flip Cam Diary with Nasir and Q-Tip.
It saddens me that this dudes buzz isn’t at a level where it should be. I’ve dropped a few gems off his upcoming album, And I Love H.E.R., with each getting tons of love. Yet after the post I don’t hear talk. Bullshit! I hate when people complain about hip hop being dead, this and that. Yet they don’t big up good fuckin’ music. Yea I’m hostile right now and for good reason. My last talk with Danny! was quite depressing as he mentioned he’s losing interest in this project because of what I was talking about above. As an artist myself (in a different light) I know the feeling and it sucks. I really hope you guys check this self-produced track featuring Che Grand and purchase dude’s album when he drops it. And since I wanna spread good music, check the bonus. A new Che Grand joint off his upcoming album, Everything’s Good Ugly, in which I got from an anonymous ninja of the interwebs haha.
Ah shit, new Nas for that ass. Brand new track off the upcoming album, produced by long time collaborator and friend Salaam Remi and Big Jack. Check after the jump for some live footage of his doing another track off the record. What are people’s thoughts so far based on this track?
I dropped a few tracks off this earlier to get ya’ll up to speed and whatnot. Now, Aftermath’s incredibly slept on producer, Focus…, drops his debut album for free! Bangin’ beats and great guest spots from Little Brother, Busta Rhymes, Bishop Lamont, Stat Quo, Chino XL and more. Don’t sleep on this one people. I’m heading to ATL (a3c festival!) early in the morning tomorrow so this might be my last update of the day. Enjoy!
The soon-to-be-retired DJ Whoo Kid, 50 Cent and his cronies are back at it again. This time taking aim at the Fat Elephant. In spirit of fun competition the G-Unit boys drop this mixtape on the same day as Joey’s LP. This also acts as v.2 in the thisis50 series. Check out v.1, Return of the Body Snatchers, from an earlier post. See ya’ll next post!
We’ve dropped tracks for ya’ll off each of these albums throughout the last week. Both of these “heavyweights” are droppin on March 11th so be sure to cop that! And if you’d like, I’ve put up album samplers of both LP over at the plantation. Check it…
An a capella version of Joey’s latest Mood Muzikmixtape album is now available for all you upcoming producers/DJs. It should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with. If you feel you got that heat, hit us up with what you got. Maybe we’ll post it, maybe we won’t. Worth a shot though right?
