While in London for a promo run, J. Cole sat down with BBC 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth to speak on Miguel’s leg drop at the Billboard Music Awards, Paris Hilton signing to Cash Money, Kanye West’s “New Slaves” and more. Speaking on Born Sinner, Cole reveals that T-Boz and Chilli will be featured on a cut called “Crooked Smile” and there will be no rap features. Shouts to JColeNation on the heads up.
I got TLC on the album, yes T-Boz and Chilli… it’s crazy. Nobody’s rapping on the album.
While out in Los Angeles, Mac Miller stopped by the Skee Lodge to chop it up with the homie DJ Skee about his Twitter “beef” with Donald Trump and dropping his new album Watching Movies With The Sound Off the same day as Kanye West.

In the third and final part of French Montana’s interview on The Combat Jack Show, the Bronx rapper talks about taking a bullet to the brain. 50 Cent may have made getting shot a huge part of his narrative, but French doesn’t always discuss his shooting in detail. But Combat gets French to open up and offer some details about the incident and even gets philosophical asking, “If you got kilt [sic] would you know you got kilt?” Rappers really need to learn how to pronounce the word “killed.”

The other day, J. Cole surprised his fans by announcing his Sophomore album Born Sinner would be dropping a week earlier than originally scheduled. Speaking with Billboard, Cole breaks down the thought process that went down in his decision to drop the same day as Kanye West’s recently-announced Yeezus LP.
Instantly the lightbulb [turned on]… it got real. I made one phone call to somebody that would know, just to make sure first. As soon as I got it confirmed, I was like, ‘Yo…’ The idea hit me instantly: ‘You got to go to that date.’ I’m not going to sit [here]… I worked too hard to come a week later after Kanye West drops an amazing album. It’d be like, ‘Oh and J.Cole dropped too, a week later.’ Nah. I’m going to go see him on that date. He’s the greatest. So it’s like, I’m a competitor by nature so it was instant, it wasn’t even a thought. It’s a definite statement about how I feel about my album, which is confident. At the same time, let’s not forget this is Kanye West. He bets 100, 1,000, whatever the perfect is. His track record is flawless. I’m only expecting an incredible album from him. But I know what I have.
Too bad Fabolous decided to bow out of the action as it could’ve been Born Sinner, Yeezus, Loso’s Way 2 and Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With The Sound Off all on the same day. How crazy would that have been?
Terrace Martin (and that annoying ass chick from Ridiculousness) joins Snoop Dogg on the latest episode of the Double G News network to talk about #3ChordFold (which I’m incredibly hyped for) and more.
