Who Wants A Ski Beatz Karate School Drum Kit/Flash Drive?

The Dopehouse has partnered with HipHopDrumSamples.com to give away some limited edition Ski Beatz Karate School drum kits/flash drives. The 16GB Akai MPC2000XL Flash Drive (shown after the jump) comes loaded with both Ski Beatz’s Karate School: Drums For Ninjas as well as !llmind’s Blap Kit Vol.3.

Known as one of the most prolific Hip-Hop producers over the last 20 years, Ski Beatz has crafted classics for Jay-Z, AZ, Mos Def, Jay Electronica, Camp Lo, Curren$y, Talib, Murs, & many more. The Karate School Drum Kit features drum samples designed and hand picked from Ski Beatz personal drum stash.

To honor Ski’s chopping skills on the E-Mu SP-1200, we spent hours re-sampling the kit through our E-Mu SP-1200 to create a 12-Bit (Dirty) version for vintage analog flavor & grit. Forget the vintage mode button, these drums have authentic 12-Bit flavor that your Maschine or MPC Renaissance can’t replicate.

All you’ve got to do is hit the jump and fill out the included widget. Good luck!

MHz Legacy Announces Winners For “Yellow + Blue” Producer Remix!

Back in December, the DopeHouse teamed up with MHz Legacy and Man Bites Dog Records for a 2dope remix contest for their Blu-assisted “Yellow + Blue” single. Over the two weeks in which the contest ran, we received over 200 submissions from all over the world.

“I really appreciated the number of submissions we received for the contest — there were hundreds we had to listen to!” notes Tage Future, who, with the rest of the group, judged each individual entry. “The winning submissions needed to be dope, and they needed to move me. There was a lot of strong competition in the mix, and we had fun going through the selection process.”

“I didn’t want any of the remixes to have the same vibe as the original,” notes Copywrite. “To me, a great remix creates a completely different vibe from its original but still fits 100%. ‘Yellow + Blue’ is my favorite song on the MHz Legacy album, and we appreciate everybody who took the time out to remix our song.”

After the jump I’ve included the remixes from the Grand Prize winner (Psymun) as well as the two runner-ups (Melvin Junko, Sentury Status).

Who Wants To See Curren$y In Las Vegas?

Head on down to the c-section and leave your favorite Curren$y song. I’ll pick a couple winners at random and contact you via email. Good luck.
