This weekend, Big Boi & Andre 3 Stacks are getting busy during week two of their Coachella performance/reunion. Despite confirming that the rumors of an Outkast reunion album are false, there’s still a bright future for fans.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Sir Luscious at Coachella last weekend at Levi’s Haus of Strauss where the ATLien spilled the beans on some exciting news.

While Outkast has about “40-something more concerts,” Big Boi says he’ll be busy recording new material while on the road and when asked about his new upcoming solo album, he had this to say:

I’m shooting for this year. You’ll definitely get a couple of songs before the end of the year. Whether the project is done or not just depends on how wild this road gets.

As far as the rumored collaborative EP with Phantogram, Big Boi says he’s open to expanding it into a full length long player, although it will come after the release of his next solo outing:

We’ve got songs which were already recorded when we were working on my last record. They come down to Stankonia and we camp out for like a week and trade vibes. They go back to New York, then they come back down and we just keep the process going.

On top of recording with the Saratoga, NY based indie band, Big Boi mentions a collaboration with Modest Mouse, stating that they’ve already recorded three songs that frontman Isaac Brock has been sitting on. He also plans on pursuing an acting career after the release of the album. Spotted at HNHH.
