It’s been five years since Asher Roth crashed the music industry with “I Love College” and his debut album Asleep in the Bread Aisle. Since then, we’ve seen the Philadelphia native transform into a well-rounded emcee that has a penchant for making dope music. That’s not to say his debut didn’t have some joints, but it’s no secret Ash improved his game ten fold over the years.

Releasing Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry, The Rawth EP with Nottz, Pabst & Jazz and The Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2 has definitely kept him busy, but it seems like there’s always been an issue when it comes to releasing his official Sophomore LP. From scrapped titles (The Spaghetti Tree and Is This Too Orange?) to misplaced singles (“G.R.I.N.D.” and “Last Man Standing“), the delays kept stacking up.

Now, with all his dominos in order, Asher Roth is planning to release his new full-length, RetroHash, on April 22nd. Another bonus? The entire LP will be produced by Chicago production duo Blended Babies and will feature Vic Mensa and ZZ Ward (who’s worked with Ash on past tracks “Insurance” with Rockie Fresh & Blu; and “See the World” with Chuck Inglish).

Take a listen to the first single “Tangerine Girl” and get ready for the next phase of Asher Paul Roth’s career.
