Along with the release of Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP turning 15 years old today, The Roots’ fourth studio LP, Things Fall Apart also turns fifteen on this day.

Things Fall Apart followed directly on the heels of another classic from the Philly Hip-Hop band, 1996’s llladelph Halflife and recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios (you know, the one built by Jimi Hendrix?). The Roots’ fourth album took a slight turn from the underground heavy Illadelph Halflife and also marked their first album to go platinum and charting much higher on the Billboard charts.

And, much like Eminem’s debut, TFA introduced the world to another rising emcee from the band’s hometown, Beanie Sigel on the high-octane “Adrenaline.”

To celebrate 15 years of the release his Philly brethren’s album, Chill Moody drops off a little tribute of his own, with producer Logic flipping a few songs into one, including “The Next Movement” and “Step Into the Realm.”
