Illmatic, Nas’ undisputed classic debut, turns 20 this year. To help celebrate it’s two decades in hip hop history, the Queensbridge emcee will be releasing a special 20th Anniversary Edition this April.

That’s not all though.

There is an upcoming documentary, entitled Time Is Illmatic, in the making as well. Taking it’s name from a line on “Life’s A Bitch,” the film will share the story of how Illmatic was made, released and became one of the most celebrated LPs of all time.

Nas also plans on performing the LP in it’s entirety a few times this year…

Nas plans to perform the 10-track album front-to-back this spring at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and at this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, as well as other unannounced tour dates. – MTV

Considering AZ joined Nas on stage this weekend, I’m hoping he’s included in each performance. It’s only right. Either way, an Outkast reunion and Illmatic? Sounds like a good time to me.
