In the midst of the controversy surrounding the deal Jay Z and the Shawn Carter Foundation struck with Barneys for their A New York Holiday collection, it looks like moving forward with the partnership has proved favorable for all parties.

The New York Daily News reports that the foundation has yielded more than $1 million in profits:

A source close to Barneys said figures were being tallied on Friday, the last day of sales, but profits had exceeded the million-dollar mark. The collection was unveiled amid a surge of criticism from Jay Z fans who wanted him to pull out of the Barneys deal after two black shoppers said they were racially profiled at the high-end store.

The positive that comes out of this is that 100% of the profits, plus 10% from Barneys sales would go toward the Shawn Carter Foundation which will help underprivileged kids pay for college. I hope that Barneys pays up for the unnecessary racial profiling Trayon Christian and Kayla Phillips had to endure.
