Many outsiders think of Hawaii as a perpetual cypher of nothing but paradise. What a lot of those outsiders don’t know is, just as with any (police) state in 2013, we deal with a lot of socio/political injustices. Ridden with lots of poverty and bullshit, the US government and their repudiation to the fact that the state was illegally annexed, and a whole bunch of other horseshit. To touch on similar subjects, Bambu & Prometheus Brown (of The Blue Scholars), whom both have strong ties to these islands, have dropped off a remix to the Angry Locals’ “Locals Only” which will appear on their upcoming album, Barkada.
