Taking advantage of the buzz of New York’s Fashion Week, G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T held a listening session for his upcoming solo album held at the Industria Superstudio, located in NYC’s Meatpacking District. Within the empty space of the complex, its guests arrive, the tastemakers mingle and the drinks flow. Without any forewarning, the building’s lights begin to flicker on and off. When the lights come back on, Pusha T takes center stage to welcome everyone to the My Name Is My Name listening session. Shortly after the greeting, the album begins with an intro of King Push and his famous cokelore. A few songs in, a track with Young Jeezy comes on and that seemed to be a potential banger and when “Numbers on the Board” came on, you know everyone was rocking to it. Kanye, being the advertised host of the night, wasn’t visibly present immediately as the listening party started but out of nowhere, he pops up and gives the small crowd a rant for all the internet to gawk over. With his passion carrying its own reputation, Kanye takes the time to strongly cosign one of his G.O.O.D. Music MVPs touching on his loyalty and contributions to the hip-hop culture while reminding you that his team is all about good music. With its new release date, October 8th, My Name Is My Name may just have the strength to be an acclaimed album of the year despite its delays. Check for more pics after the break.
