Jay & Bey showed support for Trayvon Martin today, appearing at a rally in Harlem in which Rev. Al Sharpton also made an appearance. The power couple, joined by Trayvon's mother and other community leaders also protested the highly controversial "Stand Your Ground" law which ironically enough did not apply to a Florida mother who fired warning shots at her alleged abusive husband and was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years. Trayvon's mother, Sybrina Fulton stated “George Zimmerman started the fight and George Zimmerman ended the fight. My son died without even knowing who his killer was ... Today it was my son. Tomorrow it might be yours.” Jay also helped honor Trayvon in Toronto when he and Justin Timberlake performed "Young Forver" in memory of the slain teen. #RIPTrayvonMartin #JusticeForTrayvon

click my name. the only person making fucking sense about this whole shit

Im just gonna say this, if people are mad at a rally then thats crazy. Like dont be mad at a fucking rally cause thats really not a problem at all. 2nd, i've been hearing alot people say that black people aren't upset about black on black murder. Now I dont know where people are getting that theory from and I dont know how deflecting on a nother issue takes away this particular issue but you should ask a black person about how they feel when another black person is killed by a black person. Most of the responses will be that its also upsetting. I for one am actually more upset about black on black murder then I am about a non black killing a black person. So people need to stop with the assumption that black people dont care about other black people if their a victim of a black shooter. That is false. Now Trayvon is dead and for a week now people been spitting on his dead body (metaphorically of course) and shitting on the parents. Its like ok man the kid is dead so no need to continue to speak down on someone who is dead already. As you know i've been upset about the issue but I was able to let it go so just stop the bullshit and do the same. The president also spoke on the matter. He is not attacking anybody and he is not just giving off an angry rant, he's just saying - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHBdZWbncXI&feature=player_embedded , he probably said it best. RIP to Trayvon, someone who could've just been left alone as he was walking home. End of story

i am disgusted by Zimmerman and don't have anything against Jay-z going to a rally but have you actually read a shred of evidence in that woman in florida's case? She got in an argument w/ her husband, left and got a gun, came back and fired it at him when he was standing with his hands up and next to their 2 children. Does that sound like she is innocent/defending herself to any sane person?

All I'm saying is that the inequality and injustice is unmistakable here. No I don't know EXACTLY what happened. I do KNOW that she fired WARNING SHOTS into a wall at her husband whom she had a protective order against. She also allegedly has no priors. So why doesn't this stupid "Stand Your Ground" law apply in this case? The fact that she fired the shots in front of her children is fucked up, but getting 20 off the bat for firing warning shots, when Zimmerman is acquitted on second degree murder / manslaughter charges of a child. See my point now?

"Not guilty y'all gotta feel me"

Trayvon Martin is being exploited for political, promotional and personal gain. nobody gave a shit about him when he was alive. he wasn't this choir boy these false prophets claim he was. his mom threw him out the crib a week before his death, which was the reason he was sent to that part of Florida his father was living at. TM sucker-punched a bus driver and got into many fights. he was a trouble-maker and had a history of starting shit. he got suspended from school and never went back to school. TM was a wanna-be thug who posted pics on social networks smoking weed, posing with weed plants and a gun. but these idiots in the media are using pics of TM when he was 9 and 12 years old. I give it another week when these politicians and celebrities wake up and never mention the name Trayvon Martin ever again. don't believe the hype.

The Tryavon Martin shooting case is in full swing. Recently, an investigation into George Zimmerman's past life was carried out. The investigation revealed that George Zimmerman had had several brushes with the law and was even arrested on an occasion.
Before the investigation was carried out, Trayvon Martin was the focus of the case and several facts about him had emerged as well. It turned out that Martin had been suspended from school for possession of an empty marijuana bag. This particular fact was overplayed in the court hearing, but according to Martin's lawyer, he was just a boy in his experimenting years and none of that showed that he had a troubled or violent personality.
On the other hand, Zimmerman's records show that he does have an aggressive personality.
George Zimmerman has been accused of domestic violence, tussling with a police officer and for over-speeding.
In 2005, Zimmerman was arrested and charged with "resisting officer with violence" and "battery of law enforcement officer." Both these felonies are considered third-degree. Due to his desperate attempts, the charges were reduced to "resisting officer without violence" and then the only remaining charge was also completely waived off when he entered an alcohol education program.
In the same year (2005), Zimmerman's ex-fiance, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order, alleging domestic violence. In retaliation, Zimmerman filed for a retraining order against Zuazo and both these claims were resolved with both restraining orders granted.
The next year, in 2006, Zimmerman was charged with speeding. However, that case was dismissed because the officer who charged him failed to show up at the court.
These records show that Zimmerman does not have a very clean past either. However, according to his side of the story, it was Trayvon Martin who attacked him and he killed the kid in self-defense. If anyone has a "history of violence", it's more so Zimmerman than Martin.

marissa alexander vs zimmerman is comparing apples to oranges. its not a fair comparison at all.

but facts seeem to not apply to this entire trayvon martin situation.

  • adolfmayne

once again the media is making false claims of who these "victims" are

  • Ain’t It Ironic?

@adolfmayne -- It's too bad that the victim isn't here to tell his side of the story.

Why is this dumb bish smiling?

  • FakesOut

These fame whores are the worst, anything to get thier ugly mugs on camera, I patiently await the downfall of these fakes.

  • kill Zimmerman

@Guilty Thank You!! These insensitive savages keep going on about "Oh Trayvon smoked weed, and got into trouble" as if that justifies him being MURDERED. Meanwhile Zimmerman's background is very sketchy to say the least.

@Mcfly your taste in music sucks, but I agree with you on this issue. If they don't repeal that "Stand Your Ground" law, then all Black folks should make a mass exodus to the nearest state that doesn't have that law. It's crazy.. if there are no eye witnesses you can literally pick a fight with someone, let him hit you (to make sure you have injuries to show) then shoot him DEAD and get off free. Only in Amerikka..

  • kill Zimmerman

One more thing, Zimmerman's dad is a White former judge, which probably explains how he got those resisting arrest charges waived. He may look Brown to us, but having a rich White father, a retired judge no less, gives him access to that good ol White privilege.

  • marty mcfly

@Kill Zimmerman, I didnt say anything about the Stand Your Ground law but im not against anybody who wants to further investigate how people are using that to their advantage. Whats sad though is that many people are implying that Trayvon deserved to die. Since he smoked weed he deserved to die, since he did graffiti he deserved to be shot and since the murder rate in Chicago is high then Trayvon in Florida deserved to be killed. Thats what people are saying. They start out by saying "im not saying Trayvon deserved to die but..." I mean seriously if an unarmed person is killed that doesn't raise any question in people's head at all? You just know for a fact that Trayvon should've been killed and that was the ONLY option that night? From the start of the phone calls to when the police showed up? Furthermore how many of you people have actually ever shot someone? Then how do you know for a fact that Trayvon should've been shot that night? Most people with common sense have never had to kill anybody and usually when someone is shot, it was not a must do situation. Usually the whole situation could've been avoided from jump. Id like to see the history of these people implying Trayvon should've been killed cause if you ever smoked weed or got in trouble in school then I guess you should be shot in the heart and killed as well. Trayvon cant even die without being further criminalized and the truth is most responsible parents tell their children that if their followed and confronted by an adult that may have a gun and if they feel threatened cause then they should fight with everything they have in them because they might be killed. I mean whether you believe Trayvon had a right to be left alone that night or believe Zimmerman HAD TO murder Trayvon, the fact that it lead to an armed ADULT to kill and UNARMED teenager, that should raise some questions and your mind and at least give you the thought that maybe I shouldn't further shit on Trayvon being that something dont seem right here. Again most ADULTS do not put themselves in a situation where killing someone becomes and option and certain most ADULTS done end up killing somebody.

  • marty mcfly

Again most ADULTS do not put themselves in a situation where killing someone becomes and option and certainLY most ADULTS DON'T end up killing somebody. If you need a gun to be a neighborhood watch guy (the key word is WATCH), then maybe you shouldn't be patrolling around like a wannabe pig in the first place.

  • Billy

Black people care more about Trayvon than the NSA violating the Bill of Rights lol

People need to speak up about these issues. I thought that this country had finally moved towards some enlightenment first 6 yrs ago when Obama was elected and earlier this year when gay marraige began to be legalized. I thought there was hope but these kind of things just remind me that there's a deep sickness at the heart of this country.
