ANTHM – Be Still (Video) [2Dope Premiere]

blame it on Shake May 9, 2013

The first time I heard ANTHM, he was putting a verbal choke hold on Black Rob and The LOX’s classic “Can I Live” back in March of last year (check the video here). A month later his When We Were Kings mixtape dropped and from that point on, I have made it a mission to put the spotlight on the New York spitkicker any and every chance I get. From the Blu-assisted “Polaris” to the incredibly dope visual for “Siren’s Song,” the equally impressive Joy & Pain EP (which featured both Blu and Freddie Gibbs) and even his recently-released Handful of Dust EP with Blu GODLeeBarnes, everything that Ant’s released is worthy of praise.

And with that intro out of the way, the DopeHouse is proud to premiere the latest visual release from his aforementioned Joy & Pain EP. On “Be Still” the Manhattan emcee gets as personal as he’s ever been detailing the challenges he’s faced since quitting his Wall Street gig to pursue a career in hip hop. The last verse is where it’s at though… family first.
