While out in Cali for the Paid Dues Festival, Scarface continues his sitdown with HardknockTV to speak on the current state of hip hop (saying he loves Kendrick Lamar but hates the older execs that are controlling the industry while being completely out of touch with the streets/culture), gives advice to upcoming artists, his relationship with Tupac Shakur, the last time he spent with him (in which they recorded "Smile") and more.

In part 2 Facemob talks to Nick Huff Barili about the current state of Hip Hop saying that he loves Kendrick Lamar but that older white executives that are in control of Hip Hop are not in touch with the streets and don't care about the culture. Scarface goes on to say that he thinks its a conspiracy to make black people look stupid and brainwash a generation of hip hoppers with "this crud". Scarface's advice to upcoming artists is to uphold the integrity of the craft and not to let the executives dictate our culture. Scarface references how Chuck Berry and Robert Johnson helped found rock and roll and blues but how now both those genres are predominately white and have forgotten their black roots. He goes on to point out that its hard to name many all black rock bands making music today.

HipHop is made by those who struggle, write for years and truly express His/Her heart out onto a beat. I hate that motherfuckers get signed for some lame ass dance song by these devilish ass record companies, and then point fingers talking about hiphop dead....Nah, it's never dead. We as the listeners have to just ignore that bullshit record(s) and keep open ears out for these true artist like kdot and Absoul. HipHop is finally getting back to its rightful means. Don't be that listener who listen to the bullshit when you know it's bullshit.

Hip-Hop is lame now.. Props to TDE and them for steering clear of the fucking norm and getting love!!!

hahah i love when people bring up slavery when they talk about racism. like black slaves in america where they only slaves in history. A)they werent B)slvery in america was extremely light compared to other examples of slavery in europe and asia...and just in case you didnt know those europeon and asian slaves were not black. Not that it matters but there isnt a single person alive from that time period so get the fuck over it.white people have. .....ignorance.

    • conscientious american

Slavery is slavery and it's wrong. A lot of races of people were enslaved. Blacks were one of them so what do you want them to do? Not talk about their oppresive history? Forget it happened?

    • D

Yeah because raping women, treating people like possessions, forcing them into labor and killing them in most torturous and volatile ways when they try to escape or fight back is ok right? It's not that bad right?

    • http://Google.com lino

Letme make a point slavery has always ben around but...blacks are the only race tht was kidnapped4rm there country and robbed of there culture we never returned bac2africa we was left stranded

  • Chris

He's racist and it's pretty transparent - that's fine though, because it's his right as a human being to be racist. I just won't be enjoying his music as much as I used to now that I know how he truly feels... (I'm mexican by the way.)

  • RacismIsACrime4BlackPeople

Rock 'N Roll is predominantly white because 99% of all the black people in America wanna be rappers; even if they suck at it! Hence Trinidad James, Chief Keef, Soulja Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, French Montana, and so forth and so forth...

  • real

The way he said it sounded racist, but when he broke it down the point he made was clear as day and is FACT. He didnt call them out for being "white", just pointed out that because they're white they dont care about the culture, which makes sense...its about money to them. And if you cant understand what he's saying about them purposely pumping stereotypical music to the masses that portray black people to be a certain way, then you're probably the racist. As soon as white people got a hold on hip hop, the music went from being soulful, to it completely portraying black people in a negative way.

  • real

Gangster rap started to become popular when white people took over hip hop, not only that but thats when the feminization of black men began, no coincidence. Why else do you think the top paid rappers are promoting homo sexuality dressing like women? because they're puppets to the racist zionist jewish label owners who offer money and fame in return for promoting the "elites" agenda.

  • the realest

wow. niggaz really reaching with this. all i know is TDE is not the answer kids lol. the whole group is a bunch of confused junkies smh. but keep it going 'face. talk that real. and i'll see you on the new french montana album... now nerds get mad lol.

  • dubz

scarface just made himself look like a fucking idiot. blaming "white people" and "jewish" people for the current climate of hiphop is just stupid, especially when u let those same people control u, but that was okay right? this is another example of pointing fingers at the white man and saying YOU DID THIS!; learn to take some fucking responsibility. How can a music genre die, GTFOH, theres plenty of good hip hop artist, just gotta wade thru a little more trash now a days then before to find what tickles your ears. thats the genius of music, theres enough of it, and enough generes to go around to please everyone. scarface just STFU and go back to doing whatever it is that you do and plead the 5th if some idiot decides to ask your opinion. nobody gives a fuck what u got to say or think about hiphop. you old racist piece of shit mother fucker, your just salty that your names not ringing anymore.

  • gev

He's really just not educated a lot in what he's talking about, which is sad because I think he has decent points. His delivery is just garbage to anybody that can put a couple thoughts together. He's definitely prejudice (can't be racist when you're in a minority).

Blame radio and mainstream sponsors: not a race or religion.
Blame the people that put these people on: not a race and such.

He's doing exactly what he's arguing against...he's PART of his own problem. Too dense to realize it. Sad

  • dubz

^^^ to the dude that posted the immortal technique quote...sounds to me like you guys are more sensitive then we are. half that quote is lies anyway.

  • james

Leave the political and societal lectures to Immortal Technique. If motherfuckers are too dumb to understand how the entertainment industries are all ran and dictated by old white men, then you might as well save your breath.

  • real

@dubz, jewish people did do this though, its a fact. "just gotta wade thru a little more trash now a days then before to find what tickles your ears".....why? because jewish people are pushing garbage on the radio...how is that "blaming the white man"? more like blaming THOSE white men that are clearly responsible. Garbage music has always been around, its the big label owners fault that thats the music thats being pushed to the forfront. The people cant request to here songs that werent paid to be on the radio in the first place by big record labels. Sounds like you're just sensitive to the way he said it, but even if thats the case that makes you look like an idiot because what he said was true.

  • gev

when you say "white man" it's the same as grouping all of black people the same way. or all "indians" or "muslims" or "christians". ignorance is ignorance np matter what side of the fence we stand on. let's be consistent

  • real

^^no its not because he specificly said old white people who own all of the major labels, and I also said "THOSE" white people. There is nothing wrong with pointing out specific black people that are doing something wrong and there is nothing wrong about pointing out what a specific group of whitte people are doing. Its only a race thing because he said "white people" so you're going to be offended without even trying to understand what he means. Thats literally nothing like grouping all black people as the same way lol. You cant look at all the black people in the world at once an past judgement, but you could look at the owners of the 4 biggest labels that every other big label works with an see who he's talking about. They're all zionest jews.

KRS used to be an executive at Warner Brothers and said in a magazine (Hip-hop Connection issue 150) the problem wasn't 'the white man getting the black man down' but black executives competing with each other at the top. His point is that money breeds greed and is the root of evil, not color.

@b ali unless people raped YOUR woman or YOUR family don't try getting sympathy for it. I'm white and don't hold myself accountable for actions of other white people decades and centuries ago

With that said I hope Face puts a project out soon and stops doing feature verses with French Montana, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and the rest of these wack artists that these white labels he talks about are bringin out

Salute to the educated individuals in the C section who are well versed on racism and understand what Scarface is truly trying to say. B ali salute God.
First off @DAVID this statement youve made shows youre a racist "unless people raped YOUR woman or YOUR family don’t try getting sympathy for it. I’m white and don’t hold myself accountable for actions of other white people decades and centuries ago"
You must hold yourself accountable and whites all around the world accountable for the CRIMES against Humanity. The crimes against all people of color, significantly Black/African people. You are white and in this country which was built off of White Supremacy, (FACT), you still to this day reap the benefits. You privilege from this system because of your skin color, so you MUST hold yourself accountable. In order to not be dubbed racist as a White Man/woman in this country, you must first consistently Deny and condemn your white privilege. (This may go over your head, so I suggest pick up a book on "White Privilege")
Secondly, Scarface is speaking truth. The industry has been dominated by White Zionist Jews, and Caucasian Racist, who've created a program to belittle blacks, perpetuate stereotypes of Blacks, dumb down the black masses, and control Black Culture. This program is similar to the FBI's "Cointelpro" program started by J edgar Hoover, which was formed to "prevent the rise of a Black Messiah." (FACT) Look that up to. Tupac was one of the feared Educated Black Men/rappers, whom the government have been watching since the 80's. Remember Govt sleep in bed with big corporations, in fact corporations run govt.
They sought out the destruction of hip hop and what hip hop derived from, the black community. They wanted to destroy the principles of hip hop, the Red Black and Green origins, its Malcolm X bravado. Again this is not Absent in hip hop, it still is here, however it doesnt dominate the game as it did during its Golden Age. (1985-1991) Look it up.

Face is no racist. In fact blacks cannot be racist towards whites, but only other people of Color. Why? Because Racism-- presupposes the ability to control a significant segment of the population economically, politically, and socially by imposing LAW, Covenants, and restrictions on their lives. Black dont have the capacity to do that in a White supremacist nation, which is the United States. Can we be bigoted? yes, Can we be prejudice? yes
    Not racist.
Racism was created by Caucasians. (Fact) When Blacks were in power on planet earth thousand of years ago, during the Egyptian Reign, Kush Empires, and so forth, black welcomed White people to their culture like they were their brothers. The Kemetic people welcomed the Greeks, and other foreign races. Taught them math, science, philosophy, etc; and did not grasp the concept of Racism. It was outlawed in their civilization. It was later Racism showed its ugly face, because of the Greeks and Romans new belief that they were superior because of their skin color, hence "White Supremacy"

Anyways most here on this site are too STUPID, and ignorant to grasp what im saying. And many will even Curse me for speaking this truth, thats fine. Open a book and read sometime, you might learn something.

  • Griot

Not all Zionist are jews, and not all Jews are Zionist. For your information. Some Jews condemn Zionism, and these Jews are not those ones in power, controlling companies, and influencing govt.
So Jews here on this site who may be offended, some of you are not well versed in Zionism as well. Its not your fault, its those Zionist who use the Jewish religion as a disguise and a reason to carry out their wicked, sick agenda.
I know Rabbis who condemn racism and Zionism. So its not all Jews.

  • m.black

Griot. Much respect to ya homie but there was one HUGE point left out...which is the core reason why "pale-melanin deficient" created the man-made concept of race in the first place.

Genetic Annihilation. Ask any of your so called white friends do they want they're grandchildren to be colored? or their children's children? Overwhelmingly whites ain't havin that shit, i don't care how much they love rap music. They are playing us in the media thinking were all in this together as one holding hands and shit and racism is played out. Deep down inside, regardless of what we see we know better...or I hope so.

Non-white people need to stop kidding themselves into thinking we're equal to Whites on ANY level. White Supremacist still hold court and THEY and Only THEY determine what goes down in every facet of human activity. Including Hip Hop...or atleast when it comes to making money with it.

  • m.black

Scarface's comment is a direct reflection on just how confused Blacks are in this country. Blacks have let their guard down with Whites generation after generation. As whites (who were forced to by White Supremacist) became less and less OVERTLY racist since the 30's blacks have increasingly assimilated and adopted white ideals that Blacks co-signed out of fear of being subjected or treated less than. Killing black culture from the inside out.

Listen to Hip Hop since it's birth until now or just simply look around you and you will see for yourself the White validation Blacks oh so deeply desire. This white validation agenda has been pushed so far that Blacks are straight wanting to become white. Scarface doesn't articulate that in his statement but that is the reason why Hip Hop is turning white literally. Blacks don't know nor want to be "black" anymore...

  • SupremeSoulstice

like I said.. if you ain't feelin what face said you either A)CLUELESS or B)WHITE and sensitive.. Face racist? Bitch please, one of his engineers and Producers is the great vet Mike Dean who is white.. dumb fucks. Listen to the message without being automatically defensive because your stupid ass is the color or genetic background of the dumb fucks he's referencing.. He ain't talking about the good folks. He talking about the ones taking advantage of hardships of others and promoting ignorance in exchange for profit.. Hip-Hop is OURS!!

  • marty mcfly

I think Scarface was trying to make a point but I definitely wasn't worded correctly. As for white people controlling hip hop? I dont know if thats all the way true. I do understand the perspective that Scarface is coming from but in this particular era artists have other options then dealing with the music industry from the position of a slave deal. An artist now can work their way up independently and then make the demands on what kinda deal they want. So looking at it that way, its up to the artist if they want to be controlled by a label or a white person. That artist can always go indie and make their own rules.

  • marty mcfly

IT definitely wasn't worded correctly.... Or the best way it could've been. Just my opinion

  • Bigg El Dogg

I think some of y'all are missing the part when he said "Let me say this shit right, I want this to be as offensive as I can fuckin' make it..." He meant every word he said and he was ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CORRECT! He wasn't dissing all white people/jews. He was bringing to light to whats really going on in the music industry and he nailed it! The people who run shit are old ass white/Jewish folks that don't give a mad ass fuck about poor people/minorities and the real Hip Hop heads. I'm so happy Scarface is back, and can't wait for him to spit some more wisdom for you fuck faces in here that don't get it. And if you don't understand what this man is sayin, do us all a favor and STOP CLAIMING MY FUCKIN CULTURE! Go listen to miley cyrus or some shit. Hip Hop needs balance, there's room for everything. Right now all the bullshit is getting all the pub and push from these labels. We need to support heads making good music not the trinidad james' and wakka's of the world. Okay, I'm done preaching...

  • marty mcfly

Scarface said "Hip Hop is white now"... Even though I get what he's trying to say, he is not really saying it the right way. Hip Hop is still black and if you look at the majority of music that comes outta hip hop most of it is coming from a black man. So by him saying hip hop is white now its almost as if he's saying that black artists dont do enough in hip hop or that black artists dont really matter in hip hop. He starts off by saying he loves Kendrick Lamar, well Kendrick is a black man. Then he talks about people in positions of power within the hip hop culture. Well then that would include Jayz, Baby from Cash Money, Rick Ross, 50 Cent, Kanye West, etc... Yes these are artists but their also black men. Scarface himself is black and other veterans like Nas who just put out a album last year, Snoop who just put out an album are also black. So when he makes general statements like "hip hop is white now", I dont think he's 100% right about that. He talks about white people dictating shit to hip hop artists but you have hip hop artists that dont go for that kinda shit. When Atlantic was trying to alter Lupe's message, once the album was released Lupe dissed the label on the first single and it ended up going platinum then he put out Words I Never Said. Lupe had to deal with Sylvia Rhone (a black woman) to get Atlantic to understand that he was not gonna be told what to do artistically. So that example right there tells you that some artists stand their ground when it comes to the culture. Then he goes on to say that Elvis is gonna be the face of hip hop if black artists dont preserve the integrity of the culture but there are indeed artists who preserve that integrity. Right now you have Jayz working on a project, Wu tang maybe working on another group album, Kanye is working on a album, Talib is bout to drop an album, 50, Common, Black Thought, Ice Cube, Joey Bada$$, hopefully the mythical Jay Electronica album etc... These are all black men. So again, even though I understand what Scarface is saying, I think Hip Hop is still very much so a black mans culture at this present time and thats even though all the other races are invited to come be a part of it.
