For the 9834th update on the mythical joint project from J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, Cole reveals to MTV that the two already have “too many songs” complete and that it’s still coming. And the more I think about the project, I’d rather them wait until it’s perfect (or as close to perfection as they can get it) before it’s release. I understand the ADHD lifestyle that the internet has brought upon us, but why settle for average? Just to get it earlier? There’s plenty of music from both Cole (Truly Yours EP, “Power Trip” with Miguel) and K. Dot (GKMC) available now that can suffice IMO. Hell, there is a ton of music from other artists that can get play in your speakers until the time is right. Patience is a lost virtue.
Shake, people want this because they have heard “Temptation” and “Shock the World” and still haven’t gotten the CDQ of those tracks after OVER 2 years
that competition thing is real as fuck when people get on a song. especially for dudes like these 2 who are already established individually as top of the class lyrically, I believe people will hold back songs if they think they can do better. seeing as how these guys have admitted to being inspired by one another, I can only imagine them working together and trying to one-up the other. not expecting this shit to be out for another year. Its going to be good though, these 2 are sick

this project is not going to come out soon. Kendrick stated recently that he’s just chilling and not really recording anything right now. Cole got the album coming out and thats going to keep him busy for the next couple of months. Not to mention the tour thats most likely going to come after the release. Not saying they can’t be working while that’s going on but the work output will be slow ….
