  1. Sounds promising, was disappointed by his first album.

  2. Fire. Kept it real, at the end he even said they wont play this shit on the radio

  3. They’ll never play this on the radio is right

  4. They’ll never play this on the radio is right.

  5. Can’t wait for the CDQ

  6. Can’t wait for the CDQ

  7. Love this darkfeeling. But y’all gone say ‘he sold his soul’ and after the first album ‘he a sell out’. Y’all just hatin. Good song, Born Sinner is a wrap.

  8. his album better be good, his debut was garbage as fuck

  9. he sold out.. now he just bought back in. leg go

  10. Dope. No one mentioning the devil horns sign and the fingers too?

  11. YES!!! Keep bringin that real musical shit COLE! That’s what we wanna hear. Some nice MUSIC! Your lyrics went perfect with this. Nice work

  12. @Adi that’s his logo since the first mixtape bro, so.. And rappers love to play with that, cause they know a lot of ignorance niggas outchea

  13. @Adi that’s cole’s sign. the horns and the halo.

  14. @Adi he usually stylizes his name with a halo and devil horns. This time, he skipped that and just used the horns. To match the song’s darkness. But the fingers are holding Ma’at’s scale of truth and justice. The same one we use in US courts.

  15. no one was on j. cole before me.. but since the release of his album he hasn’t been spitting the same.. this is decent at best.. i don’t hear the passion behind his raps like before.. also, he needs to stop making his own beats.. everyone can’t be kanye.. they’re too bland & dull.. if this is the zone cole is in he’s gonna be embarrassed on that new album him & kendrick got

  16. All eyes on Cole because Kendrick album was lightyears ahead of his and those two are the leaders of te new school.

  17. TOO YALL NIGGAZ SAYIN HIS DEBUT WAS GARBAGE ARE YOU FUCKING DEEAF IT WAS BETTER THAN 90 PERCENT OF THE SHIT BEING RELEASD…JUST BCAUSE ONE PERSON CALLS IT TRASH THE REST FOLLOWS…DAAD3, SIDELINE STORY, LIGHTS PLEASE, RISE AND SHINE, LOST ONES, BREAKDOWN, NEVER TOLD, NOBODYS PERFECT, NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, ALL FUCKING GOATS SONGS STFUUUUUUU DUMB MOTHERFUCKAS

  18. followin kendricks footsteps by keepin his music without mainstream influence…

  19. A single that doesn’t sound like the regular radio shit? Isn’t that what you Cole fans wanted in the first place? Im not a J Cole fan but id much rather hear Cole going in this direction for this album and its a good song. For those talking about the symbolism of the pic. I believe thats the hand of lady justice holding the scales of justice. That is all

  20. Ehhh love cole but he’s a huge dissapointment… Can he top those first couple mix tapes

  21. Cole sounding hungry again. This sounds promising.

  22. damn his first album wasn’t THAT bad.

  23. Sounds more like a mixape joint, all this album talk with no single and in two months? I doubt this is for an album.

  24. ^all yall said the same negative shit when kendrick released his singles and look how that turned out. Calm the fuck down and wait for the album before you talk shit.

  25. Dope, real music. Cole & K Dot bringing it back.

  26. Sounds aiight, but he’s trying to do something similar to the balance of content a la Kendrick with the streets and something more meaningful. but Cole probably ain’t never seen a gun let alone totin’ one. The gangsta shit he’s spitting on here is misplaced and fake as hell. When Kendrick was coming up he was coming up in Compton. Before anyone knew who Cole was he was damn near a college grad and living the student life in New York, let alone his sheltered ass upbringing in “the Ville.” Kendrick album was great because we believe everything he said, but Cole is a studio everything. Only think real about him is he can rap, but he ain’t got shit to rap about. Whatever, can’t front like it’s not better than most people’s music, but I’ll pass.

  27. COle can do no wrong. If he’s rapping about the lighter side of things, girls and elements about his life that undoubtedly real we label him as soft and give him shit for that. If he even mentions a gun or whatever, then he’s trying to be something he isn’t and it’s wack. I think we can give him some creative freedom here. No one is ever going to mistake him for anything he isn’t, and he’s not trying to do that.

I like it. Better than most the stuff of his horrible debut album.

  28. Hahaha shut up faggot

  29. And by “no wrong”, I obviously meant “no right”.

  30. OK lets admit it, this will be a bonus on the deluxe version or cut from the album. This is an appetizer and his album will get pushed back. I hope he raps over other producer’s beats.

  31. Lets be honest here, this is garbage. It kinda reminds me of Disgusting which he released before Work Out. Hopefully this gets left off the album or is just a bonus track.

  32. This is dope! People are going to hate just because they want something to say. Digest his lyrics and if you can’t go over to rap genius and really pick apart what Cole is saying. People complained about workout is to pop and when he gives you real hip hop with substance yall still have negative shit to say. I guess cole just can’t win

  33. This is horrible to weak, The warm up was better

  34. whoever said his first album wasn’t bad is in denial, SMFH i had to dump that shit back in the recycle bin tbh, only good tracks on that are the old tracks which were in his mixtapes.

  35. because Cole set the bar so high from Warm Up & Friday Night Lights (as well as lose songs here and there) people who want cole to fail will say his debut was bad. the music was actually very good but it wasnt conceptually as good as the mixtapes. if he released any of the CWTSS songs before the album came out people would go nuts (in a good way). its the same cole just with a machine behind him that obviously pushed him in a different direction. but the music was still VERY good no debating that. his sound is like nobody else and delivers great lyrics. people say the album sucks now because kendrick did what he did. kendrck had 100% creative freedom. since his album did well i think cole will get that as well especially since his debut sold well. i think cole can deliver a project that is conceptually great this go around. much like drake did

  36. COLE WORLD he ain’t changed not one bit…forget the haters…and
if you ain’t fucking me then you ain’t fucking wit me…MISSAMERICA..BORN SINNER….bundle up cole world

  37. J.Cole killed this I really didn’t expect anything less. I’m looking forward to his album for sure.

  38. kinda sounds like black lip bastard… same sample ?

  39. @three, the whole “J Cole didn’t have creative freedom for Sideline Story”, excuse is such a cop out its ridiculous. He made the album and it wasn’t good and thats it. Hopefully this album will be a little better but that first album is what it is.

  40. Haters gonna hate I guess. J. Cole has hinted at which direction he is moving in with this project when he said “they not gonna play this on the radio.” Everyone remembers his first single for his last album was an overplayed radio single..this is the opposite. Which is good because this track is a lot better.

  41. @Don’t believe the hype -

“When Kendrick was coming up he was coming up in Compton. Before anyone knew who Cole was he was damn near a college grad and living the student life in New York, let alone his sheltered ass upbringing in “the Ville.””

Unless you know both men that’s some pretty wild shit to be saying

I don’t speak on what it’s like to come up in Cali (even though I stay out here now) because I didn’t, but coming from NC, ain’t nothing nice about Fayetteville.

Not the worst place in the world by a long shot, but that is a depressing ass town. It’s right outside Ft. Bragg and in the South – you really think he ain’t never seen a gun??

Get with it… NC in this bitch

  42. @marty mcfly SHUT THE FUCK UP! you probably that bitch that like Hip Pop music. J. Cole 1st album was dope! Rise and Shine, No body Perfect, God Gifts, nothing last forever, break down, Never told, Dollar and a Dream 3, Lost ones, In the morning, Light Please all was great songs. Workout went platinum and Can’t get enough went gold, so don’t tell me Cole album was trash!

  43. @CT, I didnt say the album was trash, you just did but the shit wasn’t dope. I dont care what soft ass songs you wanna name, that shit wasn’t dope and its time to move on to the next. I dont care how much he sold cause hip hop has plenty of wack albums that did decent numbers. Just accept it that album wasn’t all that and excuse you wanna make for it wont make it sound any better.

  44. Cole working with Kendrick,KiD CuDi & Frank Ocean album is gonna be CLASSIC!!!!

  45. this is “ok” just “ok” unfortunately. big cole fan btw

  46. He went in on the second verse. I think the song is dope. Better than most of his songs, truth be told. It’s good that he has some fuxing subject matter to his song instead of just spitting bullshit rhymes.

  47. HA HA HA, most of you are a joke! his album was insane! dolla and a dream 3, lights please, sideline story, in the morning, lost ones, rise and shine, gods gift, brakdown, daddy’s little girl.. all of them are fucking sick! cmon songs like, lights please, lost ones and daddys little girl are exaclty what cole should be making! hey not gunna lie it was what i was hoping for from kendrick. best kendrick songs are tracks like keishas song. just cause cole’s album wasnt a concept album that flowed as the story of his life, doesnt make it whack just a different kind of album! me personaly would take both cole and k. making albums where they touched on different deep subjects than telling one story! Both are sick and made amazing debuts, just a shame for some people hip hop fans cant praise someone without putting down someone similar! they are both sick… thats all!

  48. Welcome Back Simba! #ColeWorld

  49. His symbol been a halo and horns young sir

  50. I guess it’s too hard to hit play on a song then move on to the next post. We don’t care about your opinions lol.

  51. Exactly

  52. Exactly what I’m saying

  53. ppl dumb.. flat out.. if u think his album was anywhere near as good as his mixtapes u just a stan & willing to accept anything.. that album was very weak at best.. and somebody said j. cole who has JAY-Z behind him didn’t have creative control.. LMAOOOOOOOO.. that’ll be the funniest sh*t i hear all day.. quit copping out for Kendrick’s album killing his.. they both had creative control to do whatever they wanted.. that’s the perks of having 2 moguls behind you.. like i said this track is decent at best.. i wanna hear the warm up/friday night lights cole tho

  54. not as good as your best work equals horrible to some people lol enjoy it for what it is, maybe its not classic but doesn tmean you need to take every opportunity to display it.

cole’s got some really dope tracks that grab you instantly this is still a strong 8 maybe not a song like lost ones or daddys little girl that people will always remember but just wait for the album, kendricks album isnt even all 10 tracks its mostly 8′s with a couple of 9s but still you all comparinng and being miserable for no reason lol.. how high you want the bar.. keep waiting for illmatic every time and stay disapointed. suckas.

  55. 829 dopes on a non pop single, the hate is clear, the winning is much clearer

  56. On replay!!!

  57. What are ya’ll talking about? This shits on a lot of his old stuff. His debut was dope. U can’t tell me God’s Gift, Never Told, Dollar and A Dream III, Rise and Shine, Lost Ones, Nobody’s Perfect, and Sideline Story wasn’t dope. And this song is bananas, did yall even listen to the track before ya’ll commented? smh

  58. Cole never did and never will live up to what we thought he was gonna be. He’s still better that those fuk boyz A$ap and Big Sean. He’s in the same class as Kendrick and Drake(Drake is a fag tho).

  59. @Trade

DId you just put Kendrick Lamar and Drake in the same category? On what grounds because they sure as hell don’t make the same type of music or have the same level of lyrical ability.

  60. Everybody Saying His Debut Was Garbage, But When Cole World Dropped All You Bitches Was On His Dick Tho … Debut Far From That, Shit Was A Classic Just Like #BornSinner Gone Be So STFU Acting Like Y’all Just Know Music … Stupid Ass Cunts !

  61. 1 Nigga Say It’s Wack Everybody Say It’s Wack… Do Y’all Ever Stand TF Out, And Honestly How He Trying To Be Like Kendrick … Listen To The Fucking Lyrics Man …

  62. cole’s bars stay snoozin. he bores the hell out of me, not terrible though

  63. People who get emotional over music annoy me. If you think the music is shit, fuck off, if you think the music is the greatest of all-time, you can fuck off too! n\Nothing is worth all this emotion, unless J. Cole is out here fuckin your girl in secret or some shit! Not to mention, if he is, you deserve to be miserable, but tell that shit to a psychiatrist fuck off the Internet, you sound stupid!

  64. im a huge cole fan , but this is decent , and sideline story was complete trash . idk if he can replicate those mixtapes man that shit was crazy

  65. Fuck the man, Uncle Sam I won’t sell your crack
I won’t fight your wars, I won’t wear your hat
I’mma pass your classes, I’mma learn your craft
I’mma fuck your daughters, I’mma burn your flag

  66. Skyzoo>J Cole

  67. HIS 1ST ALBUM DID NOT DELIVER, IT WAS OK (AND THERE IS PROOF IN THE SALES/REVIEWS). YOU COLE D***RIDERS NEED TO REALIZE NOT EVERYONE IS ON HIS BANDWAGON. MAYBE IT’S CAUSE SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY JUDGE BASED ON LYRICS N NOT CAUSE IT’S COLE… IGNANT AAZZ NGGUZ

  68. dope track. The beat reminds of of Jedi mind trick stuff. cole world!

  69. Cole first album was dope. This song is very solid as well. You computer people just log on to hate. Smh. And stop comparing him to Kdot, two different artists.

  70. This is pretty good.

  71. back on my therapist shit

  72. EVERYBODY IS WACK, NO BODY IS GOOD
BIG SEAN IS GARBAGE, WALE IS GARBAGE, J COLE IS TRASH, CURREN$Y IS TERRIBLE, BIG KRIT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT SOONER OR LATER KENDRICK WILL BE JUST LIKE THE REST.

now can we all get along? might as well not even listen to hip hop.. nobody appreciates the fucking music. stop being so critical and just enjoy this shit. its a beautiful genre leave it alone. every rapper gets criticized to shit . not everyone can be jay z or eminem especially when you dont give them a chance.. CHILLLLL

  73. They played it this morning in Memphis. its the only reasonI know the song exists. good music gets play in Memphis.

  74. This is hot.

  75. This sucks,

  76. @Memphisnative that’s actually really ironic with Cole’s last line haha

  77. This video will be legendary

  78. ^all yall said the same negative shit when kendrick released his singles and look how that turned out. Calm the fuck down and wait for the album before you talk shit.
