ghostface got a pass for saying shit that didnt always make sense because he had a presence on record and could be funny at times, this chick just doesnt make any sense when she raps
I think it’s obvious she’s aiming for a white/hipster demographic. The beats, the lyrics, her style, the flows, they are all shit white preppy people like. I’d still smash though.
The tracks are dope and she has her own sound… I think we all can acknowledge she’s not trying to be an MC or be lyrical for that matter she’s more into making dope tracks that you can party too… I ain’t hating I wish her all the success that 212 joint is dope af
In my observations she is the continuation of Pharrell’s “In My Mind” LP …Meaning a representation of experimentation mixed with raw & pure abilities. A very forward sound. I think she’s dope. Like playboy said up above, you dont have to like her. But overlooking her is not a good look (Paraphrase) Her mixtape was solid. Be interesting to see the LP. Anybody agree or disagree? Awesome song by the way.
Can’t beat off to this video. And ya’ll saying she can’t rap is stupid out ya head; ya’ll niggas just don’t know vernacular.
I hate how she only makin’ vids for those gay euro 90′s unncit tracks off her releases; she should do a vid for Nathan or Jumanji to show how versatile she is as an artist.
Still not sold on her meteoric rise, but this song is pretty cool. Definitely that 90′s dance scene vibe. I don’t hate the chick, and she a little sexy. But I still don’t get the hype behind her. I’ll see what happens.
WhatUPMarc is on point with that comment about underground dance music 90s scene. She also a good voice. Lyrics could be a bit better but definitely sick.
sick video. beat has that old school rnb and garage/baseline feel. will definitely appeal to the UK market. she just needs to stop the one eye references like damn shit is gettin old now
Just because you like/enjoy the beat and you are a dude doesnt mean you are any less than a man… Its the folks who are always cautious about how they appear in other peoples eyes that need to be checked on.. Obviously a lot of kids here are only interested in a few genres and rather not venture out to anything else… Stay on your farm.
I love this bitch to death but it’s like she insists on scaring away heterosexual males.. I would never show up to one of her live shows, and I almost don’t wanna watch her videos because she always has some male dancers doing some pseudo-gay shit.. I don’t have a problem with gay people at all, I just don’t want to see a nigga dancing like a female.. And niggas wearing mascara or halter-tops with fringes on it.. She can do whatever she wants, but I will never go to a show or buy a video from itunes..
Not necessarily an artist whose album I’d cop (eh, maybe). But I respect the skills in her lane. She’s very versatile and if she wanted to she could crush a pure Hip Hop beat.
She seems like an experimental/Hip Hop/Pop artist, if she listens to Kanye and focuses on being original/creative, she’ll have all the chances to be a superstar. (unless forgoes artistic respect and she sells out totally, to move units)
song aint bad, i dont expect her to be a lyricist… but for some mainstream, its pretty decent, kinda old school sounding… the video is dope as fuck! all the cuts, transitions and dance and shit… 1991 is the perfect name for it.

^ i didnt feel her at first until I actually started listening — it makes sense, but it’s not something u can just skim over.

The last two comments sums it up, black chicks feel her tho like she’s the new foxy brown or some shit

Can’t wait to hear her joint w/ Kanye.
this will be huge overhere
it’s got that hospital records/bashmore vibe
Gotta question any DUDES that actually dig this type of music. This is some straight sashay shante Rupaul type shit. Check your manhood!

The potential is definitely there though.
