Gummy Soul is combining the best of ATCQ and The Pharcyde – essentially mixing 90s boho rap’s chocolate and peanut butter together – for this upcoming mashup compilation…

Utilizing the original Jazz, Soul and Funk recordings sampled throughout A Tribe Called Quest’s extensive catalogue, Gazaway recreates classic productions – pairing his reinterpreted instrumentals with select vocals from West Coast “golden era” favorites, The Pharcyde.

If it sounds like this, then it may be a very good project.

  5. @nathaniel i disagree. i see this mashup project as an excellent rejuvenation of two classic artists that doesn’t sacrifice quality from either side. the production is on point. the style is fresh yet maintaining everything we love from pharcyde and tribe. Plus it brings the classics to a new generation of listeners in a killer new fashion. 10/10 amerigo. absolutely brilliant.
