The Making Of DJ Khaled’s Hip-Hop w/ Nas, Scarface & DJ Premier (Video)

After the tracklist to Khaled’s upcoming Kiss the Ring LP was released it was safe to say track 7 (Hip-Hop featuring Nas and Scarface, produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. Leauge and cuts by DJ Premier) was placed on many people’s most-wanted lists. Today, Dazed One Filmz takes us into the studio for the making of the record. Shaheem Reid and Jadakiss also make cameos and offer up their respective opinions.

  1. He is the exact same as officer ricky its like they both took a class together positive mental thinking

  2. Sound like some FF7 music!

  3. Sooooooooo…what did this Khaled character do if Nas & Scarface handled the rapping, Justice League handled the production and DJ Premier the cuts?

  4. ^^^ He put them all together on the song.

  5. this subject is so dry and over-used. song sounds dope though.

  6. Khaled sounds kinda retarded when he talks. “Be honest wit chu, its been a dream a mine.”

  7. Khaled is the producer of the track. The producer isn’t the beat maker.. Big difference.. He gives the song creative direction. That’s all he does though.

  8. i guess this kind of clears up what Khaled actually does on his albums. and for those of you who are still confused, its executive producing. when you talk with the artists/musicians about how you want the record to be and how it sounds and what the order of everything is gunna be, thats executive producing. it may not sound important but these songs would be a whole different sound if somebody else was exec. producing. (minus Khaled’s annoying ass ad-libs of course) I definitely appreciate the man a lot more for this and will be coppin that album now.

  9. illiterate niggas are going to hear illiterate things. he said, “To be honest with you, it’s been a dream of mine.”

  10. u cant downplay the role of an executive producer. its a lot of people who give out shitty musical directions. hence the existence of a flop album. now whether Khaled is a shit producer or not, we’ll have to see when the project comes out

  11. “dj” khaled….the only DJ that doesnt play/scratch records, produce records OR ANYTHING that the title DJ would entitle…..DJ khaled is as much of a DJ as Dr. Dre is a Doctor….smh, this muthafucka is SUPER DUPER EXTRA VERY MUCH ALLOT SOOOOO CORNY (he’s a 7 adjective cornball ahahahah) Anywayyyy I wont support anything this clown does….my opinion, DEAL WITH IT!!

  12. lol premier a nice dude but hes gotta be thinkin this guy knows nothing about music. if khalad wasnt friends with all the popular rappers, where the fuck would he be? id kill myself before id trade lives with that fat persian

  13. “7 adjective cornball”

i dont think that word means what u think it means…..

  14. DJ Khaled can’t even hold a conversation with anyone by the state of this video.
How has he got these three to come together on what sounds like it could be a good track (if he wasn’t screaming his name all the time).

  15. @ITS MINEZ sound like a kid. who da fuck says super duper then uses an excuse they found off a rap c-section to justify their hating? only a fucking kid.

  16. this biggest thing i hate about khaled is that he shadows the real people who do the beats. with all his ad libs he makes people think he had something to do with the music when he doesn’t. i need to see a job description asap. damn! hes more annoying than walking around with a piece of gum stuck on the bottom of your shoe.

  17. yall know Khaled is an executive producer, a radio dj, and a ceo. Khaled doesn’t just adlib or “scream his name” in every track, he not only pulls these artist together, he gives them direction on how to sound of the track, which is what an executive producer does.

  18. ^Thanks! its good to know he doesnt just stand in the background

  19. cross out khaled!!!

  20. dj khaleds in the background tellin rappers theyre awesome and makin super important phone calls. if thats creative, old white execs should have released self-titled records for years

  21. Cloud 9: right after Khaled told you what to do, he does exactly that. You hear him tell Primo: ok now scratch up when nas says some shit, face says that same shit, so just use both voices for that one. then idk if you come up with some cool shit too you know whatever.

    real creative………..

  22. It’s funny, Khaled seems like he doesn’t understand shit from the song other than the concept lmao. Scarface was like “DID YOU LISTEN TO WHAT HE SAID?” Khaled just looks stupid “yea yea” lol

  23. illiterate niggas are going to hear illiterate things. he said, “To be honest with you, it’s been a dream of mine.”

No, that is what he was trying to say. What he actually said is what I put between the quotation marks. He sounds like a moron. Why do you feel obligated to defend him?
