KRS’ 1993 album Return Of The Boom Bap had a lot of gems on it, but this previously vaulted track was left on the cutting room floor and has finally seen the light of day after 19 years thanks to DJ JS-1.

Damn! People just giving it a thumbs up cuz its KRS One and Premo. Smh. This track is garbage. No wonder why he kept it off the album. Lets keep it real please. If the title didn’t say KRS and Premo nobody would be feel in this.
^
idiot
This track is DOPE. You are an IDIOT!
DOPE
The beat was decent but the rhymes were really sub-par, I see why it was left on the cutting room floor.
Everything he said back then actually became true today. KRS-One is prophetic…
Hip-Hop
WOW we’ve lost a generation. It’s truly sad. He dropped more knowledge on this track than most rappers combined, they’re entire careers. Truly sad. AND it’s over a Preem slap. smh
Just ’cause it’s conscious does not make it a great rap…
To say the lyrics are “sub-par” is dumb. KRS used more multi-syllable rhymes than most of these new “rappers” use on an entire project. Only reason people are sayin’ this is whack is because it was recorded over a decade ago. Had this been on the album you guys would have thought it was dope.
Most of these 90s born kids have no idea about hip-hop. amen.
Dope. I love when rarities like this see the light of day. I can’t imagine what types of gems Preem has in the vault on Gangstarr…..
@DJ Jules the points raised are worth listenin to, the 2nd verse about problems in society being blamed on hip-hop and race is somethin still happenin these days, there was a debate on the subject about a month ago on google+, his music excels people’s minds, artists like kendrick, asap and big krit get thumbs up all the time on here even when the tracks are wack (which is 99% of the time) but thats ok coz they got hype atm?
@DatGuy a good track has a good balance of multiple things such as lyricism, original concepts, consciousness, humour etc, but most of the time tracks are slightly favourable towards one of these factors, this track is simply more favourable towards consciousness, doesn’t make it a bad track, doesn’t match the energy of Return of the Boom Bap or even his self-titled album but it woulda sounded nice on I Got Next or more so on The Sneak Attack
Note that I said the “rhymes” are sub-bar, not lyrics, there’s definitely a message here and he’s got something to say but it didn’t sound very good compared to his other songs, it’s sub-par for him, for Krs-One, yeah he dropped more knowledge than Wacka Flocka ever did but the way he did it didn’t sound good, he got lazy and repetitive with the rhymes. And no I’m not “hating” because it was recorded over a decade ago, I love that eras music, I own a handful of Krs albums, and no I wouldn’t love it if it was on Return Of The Boom Bap, it would be the weakest track on there, you think they left this track out because it was as good as the rest of them?
Most of these 90s born kids have no idea about hip-hop. amen.

^^^ U speak the Truth Preach it lol
Knowledge reigns supreme over nearly everyone.
@David, I agee with you 100% People automatically assume that because I think this song is wack its because my favorite rapper is Tyga. Smh The beat DIDNT knock. Just cuz its a Premo beat, don’t mean its hot. People who think every KRS One track is the dopiest joint in the world are just as ignorant as people who think Waka is a wordsmith.
@DBS Im with you homie! Glad it didn’t make it on that album.
@Zemz & @Yoyo Y’all the coolest guys in the world.
Its funny how people on here say “this song is better than all the songs out now from these new rappers.” And… Its not hard to make a song that has lyrics that are deeper than a Waka Flacka song. That doesn’t make the song hot.
