^ Because she’s affiliated with Roc Nation, has a song penned by Drake and occupies a similar space as and is compared to Rihanna and Beyonce.
The right records mean everything. We never hear the accent when they are singing. Adele is huge because you feel the music same as it was with Amy Winehouse. Jessie J and Rita don’t do the same thing but both can ACTUALLY sing so the look should be the least of it. The right records get you in and keep you in period.
