Shit some overrated shit real talk. Krit is one of the most mediocre artists out of the south.

Should give his beats to someone who knows how to use them, like Trae.

  • http://www.youtube.com/TeeFelz TeeFelz

    ^^^^^
    Gotta be trolling.

  • Low_Key803

Shit is OK At best? df did u listen to lol Flawless production concept to go along with it lyrics str8 from The heart.. What more u Want? Must be a Future fan lol Really trae dude? You OUTSIDE yo Mind son..

  • Grits

Artists that are this perfect seem to attract the trolls.

For anybody that hasn't checked it out yet, don't worry. This shit hasn't skipped a step since KRIT Wuz Here and Return of 4Eva. In fact, on first listen, I'd say his production has gotten better.

  • brite

It would be perfect it there was a better rapper on the beats.

  • @Grits & TeeFelz

    ^You mean trolls like this?

  • B@SICS

K.R.I.T. is official like a ref with a whistle...this mixtape is classic. Great production, awesome lyrical content, sick concept...even if he puts this on itunes tomorrow I will purchase to support a great body of work. Keep it solid K.R.I.T.!

    *shit

  • Master Lee

KRIT and Cole are the only artists from the South that I respect. I cant wait to listen to this as soon as it finishes downloading.

  • Maga D

@Master Lee: Smh, there's David Banner, CunninLynguists (all three) , OutKast (both), Scarface, 3-2, Too many, don't block the south just because you're good with two artists.

  • Master Lee

@Maga D I'm talking about the new generation of artists. Of course i'm an Outkast fan. But i'm saying out of this new generation KRIT and Cole are holding it down for the South. Be happy about that. The South had a bad reputation of mindless trap music for a while. These guys are helping to restore the credibility of real lyricists from the South.

  • yup..

another great mixtape from k.r.i.t. great cocept, beats and cover art.

  • danny

    @master lee

  • danny

j cole aint even from the south he just some wack ass nigga that try to rap like he from here stealing our sound. drake more south than jasmine cole cause whenever he aint in toronto he in sum part of the south lil bitch.

@Danny I'm sorry I can't take anyone seriously who doesn't know how to use proper grammar or spelling. You dont even deserve a response.

Just to let you know though J. Cole is from Fayetteville North Carolina. The last time I checked North Carolina is in the South. Maybe you should brush up on your Geography as well as you're English.

  • SMH

Being a K.R.I.T> fan I expected less chrous heavy tracks. There are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much choruses on EVERY song on this album. I was hoping for more of a K.R.I.T. album, this is more of a "im trying to get MTV attention". Whatever K.R.I.T., get your money I guess. All the 14 year olds will love Twitting this all over the place for you, go business move. I have plenty of other artists to listen to and hell at least I have Returnof4Eva still. Pretty much over after this, mark my words. He will be on 106 and Park and MTV within 6 months. It was a fun ride though K.F.I.T. King Forgotten In Time.

  • http://www.datpiff.com/Nino-Benitez-Make-Me-Legend-mixtape.318866.html Nino Benitez

Someone up top mentioned Trae....I wouldn't mind seeing him and KRIT do something. Actually better yet, KRIT and Z-Ro would be great.

  • TE

KRIT should shoot a short film to this album.

  • 1

word^^^ this tape is ill as fuck, krit is always so consistent and is dropping this for FREE! appreciate great music

  • danny

    @master lee

i dont give a fuck where he from dont ever disrespect the south when we the only place doing it and everybody making music that sound like ours.

  • Smitty

^^^ cuz kanye and jay-z are from the south? retard

  • http://iamcloud9.bandcamp.com cloud9

@SMH wow, I guess it starts huh. He just released a wonderful project, for free at that, but I guess he's getting to popular for all the hip hop heads right? 14yo won't even give this a listen. This is substantially better than anything MTV will even pay attention to.

  • SMH

@danny: You are dumb as fuck and that last sentence laments that. You have no clue about hip hop or the state it is currently in. The only people making "South" sounding music are mostly stupid fucks or MTV kids. When you find GOOD quality hip hop, you hear NO "south" in it. Cause hip hop started in NY and they still have the best sound. Maybe if you weren't 16 you would have known the "south" sound came form the West Coast Bay Area. Do your research before you speak.

  • Master Lee

    @Smitty LOL

  • unclesam

    @brite
LMAO, KRIT raps circles around Trae every day of the week. Stop drinking, stop smoking crack or w/e and listen to music.

  • Jumpman23

Love the production, but I can't understand anything that these country ass dudes are say. They talk/rap like their tongues are glued on upside down.

  • danny

    @smitty

kanye actually has some south in him being that he spent some of his early childhood days in ATL. i'll never disrespect kanye he a fuckin legend and so is Hov but with all do respect nobody checking for Jay-z i cant speak for you niggas who live on the blogs but nobody "jockin jay-z" sorry :(

  • LT

    @SMH
the hell kind of hipster shit is that?

and there is not too many choruses on the every song...

  • orange

It's sounds like Pimp C was resurrected and made a new mixtape. Krits on some UGK cadillac muzik shit

  • SMH

@danny: again your comments show us further into your tiny mind. No one jocking Hov, that's fine. But, clearly you want to "jock" whoever everyone else is "jocking"? So who are the kids "jocking" these days. If you dont "jock" the new big thing you aren't down? Lol. Just stfu already, you clearly don't know shit, you are an MTV kiddie who thinks he's not. Keep follow the rest of the sheep.

  • CoolCat

wtf, tell me a ny rapper right now thats hot and has a ny sound. french montana? dip set? red cafe? lmao gtfoh ny rappers haven't been relevant in ages. and don't say nas or jay-z cuz their 90s niggas or ASAP cuz everyone knows dude is heavily influenced by houston music. don't knock the south boy.

  • t-rock

asap rocky makes music that sounds exactly like h-town and if i can recall him saying he doesnt even listen to new york rapper(past or present).tyler the creator says you'll never hear him claim cali because shit is wack. nobody gives a fuck about those places this isnt the 90's anymore.if you looking for some soulful hiphop shit the south got you we aint going nowhwere

  • nito

Temptation sounds like some old 36 mafia shit, its fucking dope!

  • CoolCat

NY niggas stay bashing rap from other places tho its mad funny. why you guys so salty for?

  • Maga D

@master lee: oh, I gotcha. There's still plenty from today's south generation, but Cole & Krit do a pretty good job reppin for the most part though. I know you just got trolled on here by danny, but there's a rapper named "Danny!" from NC coming out with a new album soon. Cunninlynguists, blah blah blah, I'm sure you know all this shit already.

  • unclesam

Dopeass tape, no doubt. Not as good as KRIT Wuz Here or Returnof4eva (just listened through it tho, might change my opinion later, but still a superdope project). Who is as consistent as KRIT? Kendrick? Can´t really come up with anyone else at the moment. Maybe Kanye, but IMO Section.80 & OD & Returnof4eva & KRIT Wuz Here are all better than MBDTF & WTT.

  • krit

Everything danny & koolcat are saying is the TRUTH!!! The South is the only region making consistent noise and its been that way for years. Not to mention the greatest rapper of all-time ANDRE 3000 is from the south.

  • SMH

The south is the WORST addition to rap in over 15 years. Real recognize real. You guys will never see the real cause you're all sheep following sheep. The South is the only thing you hear, cuz you all listen to the radio/TV media bullshit. Develop your own taste instead of what you think is the new hot thing to jock. Just cuz the tv is saturated with below average talent from the South doesn't mean it's the best, it's jsut whats seeling right now. The south is known for having the worst talent in the entire country. NY and Cali is what sparked the South and Mid West movements, Why are all you south cats so salty about not being relevant in a REAL RAP environment. Record sells and how many twitter followers your favorite artists have doesn't mean shit about his talent. It shows how most of you are sheep and follow "whats new to jock". The South rappers are riding whats known as a 'band wagon' for cash. And they are getting paid, if thats what you constitute as "good quality" hip hop, fine. But it doesn't mean it's true.

@CoolCat: "wtf, tell me a ny rapper right now thats hot and has a ny sound. french montana? dip set? red cafe?"

You dumb fuck, turn off your (m)TV and radio. You won't find anything worth while on there. You just rattled off all pop music artists, not hip hop. Learn the differences.

  • The Kids

    KRIT is the next Scarface.

@SMH, you're incredibly close-minded. I'm from New York and I have a huge respect for quality southern hip-hop. Don't dismiss an entire region's contributions because some of it is shit. Some New York rap is terrible and plenty of California rap is quite bad.

  • SMH

@The_Kids: 100% Agreed. I think you missed my point to some degree. It's the same as saying nothing is good UNLESS it comes from or is influenced by the South. Opposite side of the same coin, You and I can see it but these so called "real" cats can't.

  • marty mcfly

Not everybody is making shit that sounds like the south so stop it. Saigon , Skyzoo, Nipsey Hussle, Evidence, Common, Raekwon, Lupe, Elzhi etc etc dont make shit that sounds like the south. The west is just considered Cali and the east is only considered NY so how many states make up the south? Exactly, so thats why its so many rappers from the south cause it consists of more then ten states. The south as alot of dope shit but its also full of wack shit and is a big part of why lyrics and quality beats no longer matter in mainstream hip hop. The biggest artist doing it right now is Officer Ross so thats cool but it aint like he's known for having dope lyrics. Krit is ok imo but ill listen to this tape later and see what the hype is about, that is all.

  • Jaime Dominguez

Krit is good, there is also a stream on his website so I listened to it while I downloading it...
The South is good, but music is pretty burning out all around everywhere
Can't wait for the Andre solo album

  • Alishki

Well, the dope meter is overwhelmingly swinging dope's way can't wait for the download to finish, bout to find out for myself!!

  • dream

    @martymcfky

shut yo bitch ass up now he officer ricky but i saw you on his dick on a mmg post not too long ago shut yo hoe ass up. none of the rappers you named are relevant or even matter lmao.

  • hiphopaintdead28

Such fire... KRIT has finally arrived with some real hip hop

  • http://tevandtan.tumblr.com MrTev

Am I the only one that preordered this ALBUM with the shirt? I cant wait till that shit comes out.
I will give my money to a real artist who releases album quality music for free.

  • marty mcfly

@dream, yeah he's still OFFICER ricky and just cause I said I could see why a major network like MTV would say he's the hottest right now does not mean he is reallly the hottest on a skill level, just the hottest at spending the most promo money and it doesnt mean everybody wants to sound like the south either. Before Ross it was Waka and Gucci and Soulja Boy and before that it was Shawty Lo and OJ the Juice Man and bunch of other wack niggas from the south. So no not everybody wants to sound like them. Bitch

  • eZ

umma have to five this a few spins.... first run through was meh...

  • dream

    @marty mcfly

u lame as fuck i hope ya mother die while you listening to your favorite jay-z album.

  • CoolCat

ok, obviously smh is a dumb dipshit. You say that the south makes bad music, but yet your basing it of off the shit you hear on the radio or (m)tv. Ironic because thats exactly what your accusing others of doing. Maybe if you took your head out your ass and did some soul searching/ research you'd see a lot of great artist come from the south as well as other regions dumbass.
And please, I'm still waiting for you to tell good recent NY hiphop artist, i love to hear them, because from what it seems your still stuck in the glory days when NY was actually a staple of good hip hop music.

  • marty mcfly

Yeah whatever man but all that extra shit you talking dont really mean nothing. Sensitive thugs, you all need hugs. Pause

  • dddddsssss

few hot tracks, the beats arent as good as his classics, this does sound too mtv ish , but its hot over all
theme song was the only track i liked
big buzz expected every track to be a fire banger wit beat
i cant wait for the big album thou

  • marty mcfly

@CoolCat, Saigon, Talib Kweli, Torae, Action Bronson, Scram Jones... I know what your gonna say, they aint relevant cause they aint on Tv or Radio everyday but they all still dropped dope projects last year.

  • jets fool

lets see the south music runs the:

    Radio
    Strip Clubs/Clubs
    T.V.
    Magazines
    Internets
Party's(you gotta be a bunch of lames to wanna hear slaughterhouse at a house party)
    etc etc etc

  • cam

Like homie up top said if the south wanted to(im sure they wouldnt) they could claim drake. When drake isnt in tdot he is most def in the parts of the south. condos galore in miami, h-town,atl with wayne & the rest of young money.

  • CoolCat

@marty mcfly i don't know why tv and radio keeps on getting brought up. when I say relevant i mean on the blog. with that being said, all the rappers you listed, namely bronson and saigon has been lukewarm at best

  • montreal

    ^

    fuck drake

  • CoolCat

@marty mcfly i don't know why tv and radio keeps on getting brought up. when I say relevant i mean on the blog. with that being said, all the rappers you listed, namely bronson and saigon has been lukewarm at best.

  • Ricky

I live close enough to L.A. to get the radio signal and hip hop on mainstream radio is worse than mtv. My nigga Kendrick from Compton and I don't see the day his music reaches the radio. It's a shame. He and KRIT keeping hip hop alive. Only Cole song that comes out in the radio is "Work Out" His album was good but not even close to his mixtapes. As for this 4eva in a day... On my second listen. Only songs that stood out to me through for listen were "boobie miles" and "red eye" hopefully this grows on me.. Return of 4eva has got to be his best mixtape maybe best material he ever comes out with. I need a song wit KRIT and K Dot on it ASAP

  • marty mcfly

@CoolCat, so what nigga from the south had some same level of lyrical ability on a album as Saigon last year? Or Scram Jones? I sure one of them south rappers did but I dont know any. The point is the south has they own shit but not everybody wants to sound like them. As far as a whole album goes there are still artists from other states that got there own sound and like I said earlier when you have ten different states all claiming the south of course they gonna have more popping artists in the mainstream.

  • eZ

a hungry j cole(south) most def would murder saigon.

  • Mr. Andre

    Yes.

  • marty mcfly

@ez, does J Cole sound like a traditional south artist or a east coast artist? Did Sideline story come out better then GSNT? Hell no, just cause Cole decided to give you two singles that were not what his fans really wanted just so Cole could be commercial and Saigon gave you two very true to the game singles like Come On Baby, Believe it ( go watch the video for it ) and Greatest story, doesnt mean Cole is better. I dont have a problem with Cole making some generic garbage just to go gold but Saigon choose to remain on some real shit commercially and thats why he didnt get the hype

  • eZ

cole's music never had the southern sound but his flow is southern allday. His beats are more east coast even tho he had a few southern beats on the album(gods gift & dollar & a dream) cole still would shit on saigon lyrically.

  • marty mcfly

Naw Cole's whole style is 99% Eastcoast and Cole dont stand a chance against Saigon lyrically in no way shape or form in terms of having more complexity and authenticity.

  • SMH

@Cool Cat: To sum it all up, the old cliche saying, "I listen to your favorite rappers' favorite rapper's". Sorry but it applies ALL to well to this scenario.

And I'm not listing a bunch of artists you are going to automatically claim aren't shit, cause you don't ever listen to them, as you've already stated. Where as I have actually sat through many a torturous listenings of 'good music' from the South(98% of the south is shit). One person you should already know(blogs) from NY and doing it better then 99% of anyone doing it is Sha Stimuli. But you wouldn't be able to relate to real life shit, I'm sure you are waaaay to thugged out, is it hard out there in the streets? Lol. And don't go off on a tangent, because trust me when I say I love me some good Gun Bars or lyrical miracle type shit and even some good preachy shit. I'm not into just any one style.

Secondly, name your TOP 5 artists that are from the South, make what you consider 'good music' and are not on the TV/Radio.

  • eZ

it doesnt matter what either of us say he's still from the south at the end of the day lol

  • marty mcfly

The best south artist dont have any support from the south, the south had fucking Little Brother homie. They should have been supported more by the south in numbers but instead ya'll help Ross, Jeezy, Gucci and other rich mainstream artists that fed you nothing but junk food for thought. Meanwhile the south doesnt support Killa Mike, Currensy or any other MC like that when it comes to buying albums.

  • alex

Truth be told you niggas who are just sitting here waiting on the east/west to be relevant again might as well just kill yourselves its not gonna happen.you can bank on TDE all you want but its not gonna happen they arent gonna get as big as some of you niggas think unless kendrick makes a candy shop type record i dont see it happening.Even if he does i still dont see too many people buying they shit. south got the game on lock & you can thank the dj's & major labels cause thats what they fuckin with.

  • SMH

@alex_the_sheep: Keep following the sheep in front of you, single file line you brainless zombie. Sales =/= Talent, never has, never will. West/East has never been irrelevant, expect to the sheep.

  • alex

nah you just a faggot who cant except the fact the east/west aint been relevant since 2000-2002.

  • dopenope

dude is from mississippi u fuckas expect him to represent the east side? tho the tape is not touchin the Rof4EVA at all but still dope.

  • (l,k)

marty mcfly: an ignorant but genuine music fan? or pathetic troll? the world may never know

  • alex

aint been relevant in a fuckin decade nobody checkin for you niggas lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol.all niggas in new york & cali hear is down south shit everywhere you niggas go and its been like that for the last decade.

  • SMH

@Alex: Typical brainless zombie response. Who was relevant to you in 2000-2002 from the East or from the West? Lml, can't wait to hear this.

  • A-Mok

SO. FUCKING. EXCITED. K.R.I.T. may very well be among those to save Hip-Hop once and for all.

  • alex

    my point exactly :)

  • SMH

Don't go listing Radio/TV shit from that year either, cause you'll only be furthering my point, not your own.

*waits as alex hits the google search box for 'top hip hop from the year 2000'. Lol.*

  • http://www.youtube.com/TeeFelz TeeFelz

I'm from Memphis. And I know most "South" artists nowadays aren't selling to well either. All you really got doing numbers is T.I., Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross. Even though Drake is heavily affiliated with the South. He doesn't make that many southern tracks. The only ones on Take Care I can think of is Underground Kings and The Real Her. But if you're talking selling, I don't think anybody's winning anymore. J. Cole is from the south, but he even admits he was influenced bu the New York scene. I think rap is too diverse nowadays in this internet age to try to say that a region is killing the game. When you have southern guys like J. Cole that sound East Coast. Or East Coast guys like A$AP that sound southern. What we need to focus on is getting more meaning in hip hop altogether as a collective. Hip Hop is diverse and we should be able to accept it that way. Is kind of like being racist saying that one region is so much better than another. Why can't we all be great??? NO HOMO

  • SMH

alex: You were born in the year 1996, GTFO talkin about year 2000 or 2002 hip hop. "go aks ya moms'

  • marty mcfly

@alex, you say the west aint been relevant since 2000? Well Game's Documentary came out in 2005 and after just 3 albums he sold ten million albums and lyrically id say he can hang with your southern heros. So I doubt any artist from the south that came out the same time came say they same.

  • alex

    @teefelz

it dont matter drake breaking bread with the south we fuck with drake.

  • alex

and not 1 single fuck was given. what about that red album where game at now? "HE'S IRRELEVANT,BASEDGOD" LIL B VOICE LOLOLOLOLOL

  • SMH

@alex: You are dumb as fuck aren't you?

Drakes biggest influences are Jay-Z, Nas and Jimi Hendrix. The man said it himself, which are from the South? Get a clue you stupid fucker, Lol.

  • SMH

Game was never relevant. Wow. Keep digging that whole so I can push you in it whenever you're done... Lol.

  • marty mcfly

@alex, the Red album also came out dope, you should hear it some time as well as Purp & Patron which id put up against any mixtape last year and Game aint the only west coast artist thats still dropping dope shit so just because Ymcmb and Ross make the south seem hot doesnt mean the south is dropping dope shit ALL the time. Ill check out this mixtape later but like I said, Purp & Patron last year was a dope mixtape.

  • alex

bruh get off my fick drake basically live in the south when he's not in toronto he's down south "TELL UNCLE LUKE IM OUT IN MIAMI TOO" and many other parts of the south .drake owns condo's & houses down south. not to mention young money cash money is stationed in the south you stupid bitch get off my dick im loling at you bruh :)

  • Dummies

Im tired of niggas saying KRIT is saving hip-hop. When you dumb niggas were so called claiming hip-hop was dead there were rappers out there spitting just like KRIT. It never died smfh

  • k dot

@SMH the Game was relevant before. When he made "How We do" and " Hate it or Love it" I would say he was pretty relevant around that era. With help from Fif of course tho

  • CoolCat

SMH your seriously a dumb fuck that has a bias against the south. arguing with you is pointless.

  • baba2day

Me and My Oldschool is my favourite track

  • SMH

@alex: Keep trying to flatter yourself about me being on your 'fick'. You know you commented to my shit first. And you still haven't even respond to any of it, you just keeping going off about homosexual shit and distracting from the point. Whatever man, I'm not trippin cause I know whats good. You'll get there too one day, hopefully for your own sake it's sooner then later.

Owning houses in a certain area...? lol you are done. Boxed and buried.

  • marty mcfly

And you keep talking about Drake when Drake himself claims Toronto ten times more then he claims memphis and just cause he likes that style doesnt mean he is a south artist cause most of his influence came from else where and as for Game being relevant? It no way in hell you can sell ten million records with just three albums and not have been relevant. Yeah nowadays he aint popping like he used to but he doesnt need to either cause he already did his thing alot better then the south artists that came out the same year as him.

  • soul

    you c-section niggas lames

  • Ez

nobody never said he doesnt claim toronto of course he claims toronto but he doesnt live in toronto he lives in the same condo you seen in the "im on one" video in miami

  • SMH

@CoolCat: Is that your list of your top five from the south not on the radio/tv? Nice job. Cuz that must be so hard to come up with, you rep the south so hard... Lol. Go buy some more Gucci albums and get a face tat of a Popsicle you sheep. No bias, I just like good music. Andre 3000 been killing it forever, ATliens is flawless.

  • j

Has anyone noticed this mixtape is just like Return of 4eva? song about waking up at the beginning, theme song (a lot like return of 4eva theme song), song about car...return of 4eva >>>>>>>> this

  • marty mcfly

All I know is if ya'll think so much of the artists from the south then help the dope artists from that region sell some fucking albums or else Ross and Wayne are gonna continue to be what the south is mostly about in sound. When Krit drops a album we'll see if some of you really think he can rep the south better by the numbers.

  • Mike

Red eye and down & out are fire mixtapes classic overall

  • SMH

ALL the Legends of Hip Hop live/are from OUTSIDE of the South. Game over.

    /Thread

  • SMH

@Mike: Red Eye is probably the best on the album.

  • alex

ross & wayne are both legends so whats your point i have no fuckin problem claiming either of those two :) sue me :)

  • SMH

@J: Yes, read my first comment.

  • http://austinwnewton.wordpress.com figgy

I've read up to Package Store ... so far so fresh! KRIT keepin' it pumpin' and on that grind like no other!

  • SMH

@alex: You have no problem being wrong, you've proved that today. (they are not legends either, sorry man)

  • k dot

This tape is good dont get me wrong but this isnt a classic. People are so quick to call something a classic when they are just over excited for the project. The standout songs i would say are Red Eye, Package store,Down & Out,The alarm, Yesterday and Insomnia. The rest i feel as if Krit could of came harder but the production on all the songs are top notch. Overall it was a very good tape/album.

  • alex

what the fuck i said? :) lil bitch :)

  • NYPD PIGFACE

currently none of these sides are relevant on a basis but all ya can see is growth in indie/underground hip hop scene. so yeeah fuck yall. u know south side niggas cant change the subject matter nonetheless it doesnt mean they cant change the game either way. next sure thing fuck mtv and all other bullshit on the radio. right but if u think nobody at the time is keepin east/south/west hip hop alive then prolly ure livin at thee stone ages. biichi

  • red

Can't stand the arguments about which part of the country makes better music.
    The all have their sounds.
Personally, I love west-coast style rap but I still listen to shit from the south (though mainly for fun and rarely for substance i.e. 2 Chainz & Gucci Mane) and I real dig some NY rappers (ScienZe & A$AP)

  • Tizz_Da_Xtraordanaire

4eva N A Day is dope, I'm not going to compare it to his other mixtapes/albums I'm just glad to hear homie make more music. Return of 4eva was a beast of an mixtape/street album that I go back and listen to on a regular but this new project satisfies enough to tide me over until Live From the Underground comes out. 4eva N A day starts off strong and kinda loses steam toward the end but it's good listen from front to back.

K.R.I.T. reminds me a lot of the smoother south music from the 90s/early 2000s back when OutKast, Goodie Mob, UGK, 8ball & MJG, and etc. was dropping hot albums on the regular. I grew up hearing my pops listen to a lot of funk, soul, and blues so I like that K.R.I.T. digs in the crates to make a lot of his tracks. Gives a modern spin on that ol school feel.

  • Ez

    @red

you mean A$AP from the rapper from houston?

  • alex

    @Tizz_Da_Xtraordanaire

    Rip Pimp C :(

  • puff

@SMH fucka all legends are outside of south? lmfao did u ever heard about Andre, Big Boi, Bun B, Pimp C, T.I., and so on? fuck yo moron

  • Bobby

^^^Hol Up Hol Up Hol Up, T.I aint no fuckin legend YET. He is getting there tho but he still has shit to prove.

  • SMH

@puff: Ok, I'll give you Andre but the rest aren't. Although, I like them quite a bit minus T.I. and Pimp C.

  • Tizz_Da_Xtraordanaire

@Ez A$AP Rocky is from Harlem, he says it in like half his songs "I be that pretty muthaf***a, Harlems what I'm reppin..." but I believe he is in Houston now and he's mentioned his sound was inspired by the Houston sound particularly the "Screw" era

  • Ducey

Sleeping music from this ugly nigga Krit. Shit is trash. Fake ass Tupac.

  • Ez

alright im out this fag SMH just said he dont like pimp c on everything i love id slap your mother face off if i seen the bitch im out bitches peace

  • SMH

@eZ: Caught feelings? Lol. Kick rocks. Pimp C is garbage, get over it. UGK is dope, Bun B is dope. Pimp C solo is garbage. Neither of which are Legendary. Without Houston rap, hip hop would live on just fine. Look up Legendary on your google searches.

  • b real

    @smh

You've been trollin since this tape dropped give it up dude no one is taking anything you say serious. What you lookin for the troll of the year award? Marty got that on lock but you in a close second.Beat it dude go do something with your life.

  • SMH

@b_real: You would know since you read all my comments? Lol, gtfo cheese dick.

  • SMH

@CoolCat: You still have respond to everyone but me? Lol, you are boxed and buried next to alex. I do have valid opinions that's why you still here reading them.

    - Aight, I'm done with the clinic for today kids. Tune in next time!

  • dah well

    pretty mothafuckah hell yeah LOL

  • Maal

Y'all all sound simple, arguing with niggas who have nothing to do but make y'all niggas mad because they got nothing better to do. They prolly listening to krit right now while they pissing y'all off. Ignore the niggas and just enjoy the dopeness at hand.

  • CoolCat

    what? I stated:

"And please, I’m still waiting for you to tell good recent NY hiphop artist, i love to hear them, because from what it seems your still stuck in the glory days when NY was actually a staple of good hip hop music."

your response:@CoolCat: Is that your list of your top five from the south not on the radio/tv? Nice job.

Your a troll nigga, plain and simple. I don't care if you don't like southern rap, thats your problem bitch, but to say southern rap is bad and imply that nothing bad comes from the north? You can kill yourself with that one fag.

I really like this mixtape. It's crazy to see a mixtape with no features AND entirely produced by the artist. Wish we saw more of this.

Anyone looking for beats, click the name

  • SMH

@CoolcAt: You stupid fuck, I responded. You just failed to read it, because just like with music, You hear what you want. Not what's actually going on. Such a dumb shit.

And to quote as you did, but failed to quote the right section:

-SMH said this on March 5th, 2012 at 5:28 pm-
"@Cool Cat: To sum it all up, the old cliche saying, “I listen to your favorite rappers’ favorite rapper’s”. Sorry but it applies ALL to well to this scenario.

And I’m not listing a bunch of artists you are going to automatically claim aren’t shit, cause you don’t ever listen to them, as you’ve already stated. Where as I have actually sat through many a torturous listenings of ‘good music’ from the South(98% of the south is shit). One person you should already know(blogs) from NY and doing it better then 99% of anyone doing it is Sha Stimuli. ....."

    - And I was waiting for your list, but you won't ever have one, I know. Cuz a top 5 not on TV/Radio for you doesn't exist. Like I said, closed casket, bury this moron already.

  • jay

Say man...KRIT that new blood man...He progress with each release. this is more introspective and deeper than return of 4eva...4eva n a day mayne. Break!

  • tyrann

SMH lame ass just cant give it up huh lol. ignore the troll maybe he'll go away & if we're lucky he might kill his self

  • toni

Its obvious the troll is Fagster Lee. his mom wouldve been better off swallowing him or having him splattered across the face like the nasty bitch she is.

  • NYdreams

i was never really on big krit like that but from what people been telling me hes a problem and isnt the average south rapper so imma dl this mixtape and get a first full listen of big krit

  • CoolCat

@smh: You responded by telling me you wouldn't respond to my question. ok. I think I'm starting to understand you know though. maybe some niggas from the south stole your bitch and your butthurt? Did your dad play southern hip hop while he molested you as a child? Your hate is unnatural, but hay, good luck with your future trolling though bitch

  • whateveriguess

its like he kind of took the roots idea of a concept album cause of the titles.
So take that as you will but they are dope.
    this mixtape is pretty good.

  • NYdreams

i dont know man... am i the only dude in the room that doesnt understand what all the hype is about ?? im a few tracks in and its like i hear nothing but the chrous with a few bars in each song.. the production is dope but the lyrics are .... well lets say they arent as nice as people are making them out to be.. but idk maybe its the NY in me or i just need to listen more...

  • http://2dopeboyz.com #salvation

    @NYdreams
Ur right about that. But I'm from NY too and tell you this is not some of his best work.
You should go back and listen to " KRIT WUZ HERE" and " RETURNOF$EVA if you've never listened to them b4.

  • chrisL

While yall playing Midwest got the best rappers..... this shit perfect.

  • http://iamcloud9.bandcamp.com cloud9

@NYdreams Not every rapper is a technical rapper, sometimes music just evokes emotion from the soul. This isn't his best work, but if you listen to Yesterday and Red Eyes and tell me he isn't talented, then I just can't explain it any further.

  • SMH

@CoolCat: You aren't very original in your thinking nor are you in your insults. Do you honestly have troubles reading or what? I gave you a name and you interrupt that as me saying I'm not responding, Lol. You clearly have not responded, and I have. I don't see what your point is and all you're assuming is I had the same upbringing you did but I'm glad to tell you I did not, Lol. Poor kid.

    - You must fail horribly at those reading comprehension tests.

  • Flip

Trae stinks, You guys might as well jerk him with all this dick riding....i didn't hear one song i wanna put in my ipod....Lets keep it G, hell kitchen is better than this...red cafe is str8...Fabolous - There Is No Competition 3 (Death Comes In 3's) is better...Wiz mixtape will be better...i rather hear SP and curr mixtape than this....

  • http://dizzythumper.tumblr.com dizzythumper!

damn, took me an hour to download.... hopefully it's nice

  • SWAGGGG

Fuck the south! Krit is garbage Cole is garbae everyone from the south is either brain dead kuz there parents were cusins or boring AF. West-Coast Running Shit!

  • MorrKid

To be honest this is kinda boring. It's boring for the first 5 songs, repetitive, and over produced. KRIT is trying real hard to sound like OutKast. I loved Return4Eva but this is just not as solid.

  • reflect

KRIT is one of the illest I heard by far, haters gon hate. First of all this man is clearly doing something different and putting thoughts behind his music. as well as tryna stay positive in times where folks just hate, like seen in some of these comments. This dude releasin his shit for free, & been rather consistent. When I heard down and out for the first time I was had the crunch face all the whip the shit is heat. I'm from the west but this aint even bout navigation.. this is real thinking man's music in times where shit is watered the fuck down and really designed for drunk bitches to get loose. This is some real shit, and krit truly will be a KING REMEMBERED IN TIME. the name is dope too but the music truly stands for that and I hope none of these doubters get to his head or the hype and he keeps it true. peace

  • Johnny Blaze

I can see Me And My Oldschool becoming a southern classic

  • Ricki Lutes

I listened to it all the way through last night and once again i'm amazed by Big K.R.I.T., incredible! it's no coincidence he had a feature on Phonte's and The Roots' albums ... i agree with chad, freshSub and SmokinAces

Be happy about that. The South had a bad reputation of mindless trap music for a while. These guys are helping to restore the credibility of real lyricists from the South.

I was hoping for more of a K.R.I.T. album, this is more of a “im trying to get MTV attention”. Whatever K.R.I.T., get your money I guess. All the 14 year olds will love Twitting this all over the place for you, go business move. I have plenty of other artists to listen to and hell at least I have Returnof4Eva still. The only people making “South” sounding music are mostly stupid fucks or MTV kids. When you find GOOD quality hip hop, you hear NO “south” in it. Cause hip hop started in NY and they still have the best sound. Maybe if you weren’t 16 you would have known the “south” sound came form the West Coast Bay Area. Do your research before you speak.

Kendrick? Can´t really come up with anyone else at the moment. Maybe Kanye, but IMO Section.80 & OD & Returnof4eva & KRIT Wuz Here are all better than MBDTF & WTT.
unclesam said this on March 5th, 2012 at 3:00 pm
Everything danny & koolcat are saying is the TRUTH!!! The South is the only region making consistent noise and its been that way for years. Not to mention the greatest rapper of all-time ANDRE 3000 is from the south.
krit said this on March 5th, 2012 at 3:07 pm
The south is the WORST addition to rap in over 15 years. Real recognize real. You guys will never see the real cause you’re all sheep following sheep. The South is the only thing you hear, cuz you all listen to the radio/TV media bullshit. Develop your own taste instead of what you think is the new hot thing to jock. Just cuz the tv is saturated with below average talent from the South doesn’t mean it’s the best, it’s jsut whats seeling right now. The south is known for having the worst talent in the entire country. NY and Cali is what sparked the South and Mid West movements, Why are all you south cats so salty about not being relevant in a REAL RAP environment. Record sells and how many twitter followers your favorite artists have doesn’t mean shit about his talent. It shows how most of you are sheep and follow “whats new to jock”. The South rappers are riding whats known as a ‘band wagon’ for cash. And they are getting paid, if thats what you constitute as “good quality” hip hop, fine. But it doesn’t mean it’s true.
@CoolCat: “wtf, tell me a ny rapper right now thats hot and has a ny sound. french montana? dip set? red cafe?”
You dumb fuck, turn off your (m)TV and radio. You won’t find anything worth while on there. You just rattled off all pop music artists, not hip hop. Learn the differences.
SMH said this on March 5th, 2012 at 3:32 pm
    KRIT is the next Scarface.
@SMH, you’re incredibly close-minded. I’m from New York and I have a huge respect for quality southern hip-hop. Don’t dismiss an entire region’s contributions because some of it is shit. Some New York rap is terrible and plenty of California rap is quite bad.
The Kids said this on March 5th, 2012 at 3:38 pm
@The_Kids: 100% Agreed. I think you missed my point to some degree. It’s the same as saying nothing is good UNLESS it comes from or is influenced by the South. Opposite side of the same coin, You and I can see it but these so called “real” cats can’t.
SMH said this on March 5th, 2012 at 3:43 pm
Not everybody is making shit that sounds like the south so stop it. Saigon , Skyzoo, Nipsey Hussle, Evidence, Common, Raekwon, Lupe, Elzhi etc etc dont make shit that sounds like the south. The west is just considered Cali and the east is only considered NY so how many states make up the south? Exactly, so thats why its so many rappers from the south cause it consists of more then ten states. The south as alot of dope shit but its also full of wack shit and is a big part of why lyrics and quality beats no longer matter in mainstream hip hop. The biggest artist doing it right now is Officer Ross so thats cool but it aint like he’s known for having dope lyrics. Krit is ok imo but ill listen to this tape later and see what the hype is about, that is all.

I live close enough to L.A. to get the radio signal and hip hop on mainstream radio is worse than mtv. My nigga Kendrick from Compton and I don’t see the day his music reaches the radio. It’s a shame. He and KRIT keeping hip hop alive. Only Cole song that comes out in the radio is “Work Out” His album was good but not even close to his mixtapes. As for this 4eva in a day… On my second listen. Only songs that stood out to me through for listen were “boobie miles” and “red eye” hopefully this grows on me.. Return of 4eva has got to be his best mixtape maybe best material he ever comes out with. I need a song wit KRIT and K Dot on it ASAP
Ricky said this on March 5th, 2012 at 4:52 pm
@CoolCat, so what nigga from the south had some same level of lyrical ability on a album as Saigon last year? Or Scram Jones? I sure one of them south rappers did but I dont know any. The point is the south has they own shit but not everybody wants to sound like them. As far as a whole album goes there are still artists from other states that got there own sound and like I said earlier when you have ten different states all claiming the south of course they gonna have more popping artists in the mainstream.

Mr. Andre said this on March 5th, 2012 at 5:03 pm
I dont have a problem with Cole making some generic garbage just to go gold but Saigon choose to remain on some real shit commercially and thats why he didnt get the hype
marty mcfly said this on March 5th, 2012 at 5:14 pm
cole’s music never had the southern sound but his flow is southern allday. His beats are more east coast even tho he had a few southern beats on the album(gods gift & dollar & a dream) cole still would shit on saigon lyrically.
eZ said this on March 5th, 2012 at 5:23 pm
Naw Cole’s whole style is 99% Eastcoast and Cole dont stand a chance against Saigon lyrically in no way shape or form in terms of having more complexity and authenticity.

@Cool Cat: To sum it all up, the old cliche saying, “I listen to your favorite rappers’ favorite rapper’s”.
But you wouldn’t be able to relate to real life shit, I’m sure you are waaaay to thugged out, is it hard out there in the streets? Lol. And don’t go off on a tangent, because trust me when I say I love me some good Gun Bars or lyrical miracle type shit and even some good preachy shit. I’m not into just any one style.

The best south artist dont have any support from the south, the south had fucking Little Brother homie. They should have been supported more by the south in numbers but instead ya’ll help Ross, Jeezy, Gucci and other rich mainstream artists that fed you nothing but junk food for thought. Meanwhile the south doesnt support Killa Mike, Currensy or any other MC like that when it comes to buying albums.

I’m from Memphis. And I know most “South” artists nowadays aren’t selling to well either. All you really got doing numbers is T.I., Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross. Even though Drake is heavily affiliated with the South. He doesn’t make that many southern tracks. The only ones on Take Care I can think of is Underground Kings and The Real Her. But if you’re talking selling, I don’t think anybody’s winning anymore. Why can’t we all be great??? NO HOMO

It no way in hell you can sell ten million records with just three albums and not have been relevant. The standout songs i would say are Red Eye, Package store,Down & Out,The alarm, Yesterday and Insomnia. The rest i feel as if Krit could of came harder but the production on all the songs are top notch. Overall it was a very good tape/album.

    The all have their sounds.
Personally, I love west-coast style rap but I still listen to shit from the south (though mainly for fun and rarely for substance i.e. 2 Chainz & Gucci Mane) and I real dig some NY rappers (ScienZe & A$AP)

4eva N A Day is dope, I’m not going to compare it to his other mixtapes/albums I’m just glad to hear homie make more music. Return of 4eva was a beast of an mixtape/street album that I go back and listen to on a regular but this new project satisfies enough to tide me over until Live From the Underground comes out. 4eva N A day starts off strong and kinda loses steam toward the end but it’s good listen from front to back.
K.R.I.T. reminds me a lot of the smoother south music from the 90s/early 2000s back when OutKast, Goodie Mob, UGK, 8ball & MJG, and etc. was dropping hot albums on the regular. I grew up hearing my pops listen to a lot of funk, soul, and blues so I like that K.R.I.T. digs in the crates to make a lot of his tracks. Gives a modern spin on that ol school feel.

I’m from the west but this aint even bout navigation.. this is real thinking man’s music in times where shit is watered the fuck down and really designed for drunk bitches to get loose. This is some real shit, and krit truly will be a KING REMEMBERED IN TIME. the name is dope too but the music truly stands for that and I hope none of these doubters get to his head or the hype and he keeps it true. peace

I listened to it all the way through last night and once again i’m amazed by Big K.R.I.T., incredible! it’s no coincidence he had a feature on Phonte’s and The Roots’ albums … i agree with chad, freshSub and SmokinAces

I co-sign that Cool. It's 2012, who cares what region the music comes from? It doesn't matter and frankly never did. Every region has certified classics, every region has certified legends, and every region has their own distinctive sound that is just as good as other. Quality music is quality music. Krit is making quality music and that is all that matters

  • MyFiddyCents

  • SPank (Divided Souls Ent)
