Pill – New Clothes & New Shoes (Video)

Okay, I’m confused about the whole Pill and MMG scenario. Is/was he a part of that crew? It sure as hell seemed as such, with the album and magazine covers, singles MMG-sponsored mixtape, etc, etc. Anyways, here’s a set of visuals from The Diagnosis.

  1. He says he never signed anything which is obviously bullshit. He was on the label, got all mad because others have been getting pushed while he hasn’t and is now saying he was never part of them to save face.

  2. pill was already signed to warner then william came over and they thought it would look good if he had another street nigga with him so he was put with them without signing officially to mmg

but i could tell something wasn’t right pill never seemed comfortable there and didn’t get half the promo the others got feature and producer wise his better without them he had a bigger buzz before the deal and the label didn’t do shit for him

  3. I don’t understand why people hatting on dude you dont know what happened everything with ricky is a smoke screen don’t believe shit you see or hear

  4. Pill was signed to Asylum/Warner. When Ross brought MMG to Warner… he picked up Pill, because of that ‘Trap Goin Ham’ song. Then… they put out the Self Made album…. and weather you like Pill or not (btw..im a fan)…his singles didn’t take off. Pill’s singles didn’t connect at radio! Meek had “I’m a boss”…..Wale was on like 3 singles on radio…and that’s where all the focus went. Bottom line.

The worst thing that happened, was that chick Karen Civil putting out the rumour that he got dropped first. That and the review of his performance in NYC that Village Voice put out…(60ppl in the audience)…. really got everybody talking. Everybody wanted to find out if he got dropped, and it turned into this blog-media fiasco thats fucking everything up. Then Pill goes out and does that MTV blog response…that was a HUGE mistake!

So, whether or not he signed paper work with MMG or not…it doesn’t matter. The bottom line is, they obviously felt he didn’t come with that heat, to put the big $$$ behind it.

Fan or not, that’s the truth.

  5. Is it just me or: http://artcodesign.com/tutorials/Ipod%20Silhouette%20Effect/Ipod%20Silhouette%20Effect_clip_image020.jpg

  6. From 1 old school Atlanta nigga to my slic patna Pill! You should adopt some more time as an independent. Learn some of 2chainz moves but you will have a slight advantage because of the presence you built virally already. I would do a small EP wit some of MMG’s known tracks and go “HAM & CHEESE” on these hating as niggas!!!!!!!
