uhm, NO… Juicy J’s igning is FAR from a FAIL… for alot of rappers in that age bracket, Juicy J has a better chance of reaching the internet rappers alot faster than most and building on to his fan base that he has already made on a mainstream level. raise your hand if you thought he would sound THAT good with a feature verse from CASEY VEGGIES? I damn sure didn’t. his last 3 projects that I KNOW of (both RUBBER BAND BIZNESS mixtapes and the most recent BLUE DREAM and LEAN project) were unbelievably good… most people gonna hate that this happened, but TO ME it’s a good look
Smart business move for both of em. Wiz Khalifa got a well known name on his label to show, that it is more then the usual collective of weed carriers, that won’t release an album in their lifetime.
Juicy J knows that he can keep his fanbase if he doesn’t change his formula (except the unevitable haters). Plus, he can reach out to a whole new audience that might buy everything Wiz is cosigning.
At first, it might seem strange, that a veteran like Juicy is signed to a such label. but lookin at all these former rap superstars with a fading career, like bone thugs, dmx, 50 cent, ja rule, etc., this might be the smartest thing he could do.
this is more than a good look for Juicy J. he’s smart and has been on a tear as of late. dude is embracing a lot of the young artists (Wiz, Kreayshawn, A$AP Rocky, SpaceGhostPurrp, Speak!, etc.) while staying true to the sound he helped pioneer. like spinninallday said, Juicy J’s last 3 tapes have been on point, so he’s totally on top his game right now. major props to the Juiceman.
“Chevy Woods? What actually does he do? Is he Wiz’s Memphis Bleek?”
he put out a mixtape with Wiz a few months ago (it’s actually pretty solid too.)
