Insomnia is a motherfucker, but in some cases it proves to be useful to not be able to sleep. While lurking scouring the Twitter, I came across this video on Just Blaze’s timeline (some of the stories he tells is captivating) which the following message
Hey @therealkiss @therealstylesp. Dinner is in the oven.
and this video attached. Yeah, we’re going to need the end result to see the light of day sooner than later, gentlemen.

Just Blaze is definately producing the music for the rapture & judgement day when it happens
Sounds like “We gon’ make it (2012)”…..A Just Blaze & LOX album should come about!!!….
hmm… ok.
another Exhibit A/Exhibit C/Lord Knows/Show Me What You Got/PSA/Never Been In Love…
I think I have enough, to be honest
@unluv
You, sir, are retarded.
This is a beast mode beat. Keep it going, Blaze.
@shawn you are part of the reason why hip-hop fans are looked at as ignorant and stupid.
I stated a motherfucking opinion. I said “I think I’ve had enough”. I repeat, I said “I”. Me. Myself, has had enough.
And you call me retarted? You have to start looking at the world a lil bit differently.
Just Blaze is just too dope. period. it might be a stretch but I think Just blaze is just getting better and better.
@unluv its not because you shared your bullshit opinion, its because youre really showing your ass right now. Exhibit C sounds nothing like Lord Knows sounds nothing like Show Me What You Got sounds nothing like PSA. You see where Im going with this? What? Youre tired of big, well-produced beats? Well I think you should check out some Statik Selektah. Just Blaze is a beat fucking TITAN, anyone that has anything negative to say about his work should just never comment on hip-hop again.
@tekzilla well, looking at your name, I assume you’re a Hi-tek fan. Hi-Tek has his own sound too, and however, he manages to create new, unheard, original beats. Just Blaze keeps using the same formula. That’s all I’m saying.
Lord Knows sounds nothing like Exhibit C? #Niggaplease. Your headphones must be all kinds of fucked up.
And at the end of the day, it is still an opinion. I’m not hating. But you motherfuckers are so fucking narrow-minded that if someone says something that you don’t agree with, you jump immediately into verbal violence. Where’s the art of debating without calling someone retarted or dumb? Now if I had written “Just Blaze sucks” or “Just Blaze’s beats are mediocre”, then you could call me dumb, because that is just not true. But since nowadays people are able to argue an opinion, you HAVE to put yourself in one’s position try to analyze the arguments. Otherwise, if you prefer to insult people because you just disagree with them, YOU are dumb. And this is a fact. Even politicians would say so.
by the way, I don’t have nothing against Just Blaze, and I’m in fact a fan of his work.
What I’m doing here is just showing my disagreement with all the critical acclaim that he receives: when Lord Knows leaked, it was a trending topic on twitter. I mean damn, is this some new type of music that no one has ever heard before? No. It was just one more song to add to the list of dope Just Blaze produced records. Fact.
Quit catching feelings, as far as I can tell one person called you dumb and I said your opinion is bullshit. Nobody is commiting “verbal violence” here. Youre the one that needs to ease up with that all that “motherfucker” talk. Bottom line is, who is making better beats than Just Blaze right now? Argue that rather than how you think Lord Knows sounds like Exhibit C (seriously, wtf?). BTW I listen to my music through monitors so you can dead the whole “fucked up headphones” talk and yes those 2 beats are completely different, prove me wrong oh great debater.
let’s see. would you say that all Lex Luger beats sound alike? Because I say yes. Just like all Drumma Boy’s beats sound alike. do you agree? When do you know this is true? When you see a post of some song produced by Lex Luger, and people describe the song as “(Artist)’s take on “Hard In The Paint”", for example.
Another one: When Beyoncé dropped “Diva”, everybody was saying that she could just have freestyled over “A Milli”, because the beat had the same formula: same drums, almost the same drum loops, and a noisy, annoying, pitched-up/down vocal sample repeating itself over and over again. Do you agree?
Now, ALTHOUGH Just Blaze’s beats have an incomparable quality, consistency, and a much more classic and soulful sound, I say Lord Knows is Drake’s take on Exhibit C. Why? Drum loop is the same, progression of the beat is almost the same, and you have a choir (and a male singer on Exhibit C) singing a never-ending word (same with Never Been In Love by Talib Kweli).
Now, of course the “sound” of it is different. If you want to be strict about it, the beats don’t “sound alike”, but they are definitely similar.
Do you disagree? Well, tell me why. Because honestly, I can’t believe you think they sound completely different.
^the progression is almost the same, even though “Lord Knows” breaks down halfway through? And since the drum loop is NOT the same (and you’ve shifted from arguing opinion to simply lying about facts), the only legitimate point that you presented was the vocal loop, which is kinda a staple in hip hop production, and has been long before Just Blaze.
Want to try again?
dude wtf? do you honestly believe the tracks are not similar?
okay then. internet debating sucks. people are always gonna find something to to strike you back with. go ahead and win the fucking cookie.
First off, I dont know what youre listening to but Exhibit C absolutely does not have the same drum pattern as Lord Knows. Anyway you basically just deaded your whole argument by saying his “beats dont sound a like but they are definitely similar”. Ok would you agree that a lot of Premo beats sound the same from 94-96? Dilla? Pete Rock? I could go on, point is the producers that fans consider legends usually have a distinct sound and most people think that adds to their legacy.
Either way you CANNOT compare that to a kid like Lex Luger who is just selling the same beat over and over. Or Bangladesh who might have created a lot of A Milli sounding beats but his catalog is way more dynamic.
You say Just Blaze doesnt deserve the recognition hes getting so I ask again, who is making better beats right now? Who else can release tracks with high profile artists and still get love from the mainstream and the underground? Not to mention his 2 grammy nominations.
You might not like Just Blaze that much, but did you hear Master of Ceremonies? At this point I’ll settle for Styles P and Jada on ANYTHING that sounds even semi-professional.
Jada and Styles on that would be crack. Dude complaining probably is in love with those bullshit dubstep influenced synthesized beats that Kanye and Jay are trying to convince people are so innovative and dope, just because they’re “all the rage” in Europe. All those beats slim named are dope as fuck imo, and I honestly don’t think I could get tired of them as long as the dudes he gives them to can actually rap.
For the record, i think this beat sounds good and i love just blaze, but i do see where unluv is coming from. Some people can get tired hearing the same style over and over again with no real evolution in style. And that i do think just blaze is guilty of. EX: listen to
the game- devils advocat (2006)
exhibit C- 2009
Drake- lord knows (2011)
You can definitely seem glaring similarities. And thats ok, thats his sound, his bread and butter. But if someone is looking for some evolution in sound you cant be mad at em.
Which leads to my final point: the alchemist is the best producer who is constantly evolving and improving with never losing his signature sound. haha.
off topic, but i dj khalil is the illest…lol. his sound is forever evolving!
