shit’s a mockery
A little music lesson. The inspiration/sample for Drake’s “Take Care” song featuring Rihanna is from the late Gil Scott Heron. That within itself is a great piece, and I believe that the addition of Drake’s songwriting has taken it to the next level. His performance of it is (arguably) not the best, however a recent cover by Florence + The Machine proves the musical and lyrical genius of the current piece itself. You can hate on the cornball and call him sappy, but the cover is a prime example of his prowess with the pen–a talent that is shrouded solely by his own musical abilities–which ain’t half bad, I might add. Ok, back in my cave I go.
Love it….took out the intro and outro:

Respectable. The original is better.

I really feel like Drake’s version would have been so much better if those drums weren’t on it, and it was just a stripped down version, that sounded more like this cover. Clearly the kid, is nice behind the pen, but they were going for the club/dance music with it. Only song i skip on the album automatically.
I love her, her voice is phenomenonal….Hmmmm never have a better singer cover a gimmicks record…but then again look at the results of it?? LOL Drake & Rihanna take notes…this is real TALENT!!!!!!!
