Eminem & Yelawolf Cover VIBE

With Curtis and the Money Team covering XXL, Marshall and Yela headed down the street and will be on the front of the upcoming issue of VIBE’s December/January issue. Some choice quotes…

Yelawolf’s thoughts on White Rappers using the N-Word:
When Yelawolf heard the presumptu- ous white female rapper V-Nasty was peppering her sarcastic raps with the N- word, he called it embarrassing, telling VladTV that an N-bomb-dropping white rapper might find themselves “slapped up, and it might be by a white boy.” While he admits to using the word as a child, he says the word term is off limits for any white person, rapper or otherwise.

“[In Alabama] we have a dark his- tory concerning the relationship be- tween Black and white people. I’m not a role model by any means, but if I said it around the house I got popped in the mouth,” he says, noting that his Black friends used the word as a term of endearment for him as well.

  29. If you dont like the fact that these 2 white boys are on a “black magazine” then you promote segregation #jussayin

  30. Don’t get into an argument with marty mcfly. he’s one of the biggest trolls on the site.

Either that or he’s stan’d to a degree where he’s blind to everything else.

  31. Eminem = 86 million sold in 12 years
    Jay Z = 50 million sold in 15 years

There are the facts. I’m looking at them. And Jay just got SMOKED.

  32. No one liked the recent music Eminem dropped this year. He wrote shitty verses with penis/fastfood restaurents/ diarrhea lines that no one loved. We want the old Eminem back. #fansdown

  33. join #fansdown on twitter if you were disappointed in eminems throw it up verse or bad meets evil. We are reaching out to him and believe it will work.

  34. But you have to divide Ems record sales because most of his fans don’t even like hip hop they just only support him, whereas HOV doesn’t have that advantage. I mean these are just facts, stop denying them

  35. I agree wit Joe and everyone sayin #fansdown wit Em.

  41. I don’t understand Eminem. He made his own music, not made to target commercial success, and is more successful than anybody. He then continues to do this, selling millions and millions of records more than other artists. The next bit, I don’t understand. How do you go so commercial? Why? People ‘on the come up’ tend to stay true to hip-hop, then when they get more exposure, they go hella commercial, so they sell more records and get more $$$. But why do you go from selling more records than ANYBODY doing your own thing to making commercial music. Is the increase in money that much? He’s alienated some of his original market (who actually like/understand hip-hop) and replaced them with fucking idiots. Is this an equal trade of people? Are there so many more idiots than it was worth dumbing down? Looking at his previous album sales, I can’t really say there is. This is a nonsensical decision from Eminem to go down this pop-rap, sell out route.

Do I care? Nope, I can’t even listen to his OLD shit anymore because of the hate I have for him since this bullshit. The album he did when he came back, Relapse or whatever, the one Dre produced a lot on, the first album with crack a bottle and weird voice shit, that was WAY better than the shit he’s doing now. And that’s like 80% due to production. I don’t even believe that album is higher than 5/10 too. Yelawolf is WACK too. Could they not get Mac Miller on this cover too????? Or is that one too many white rappers with no subject matter and are all image…

  42. #FanDown BME Material was supbar with to much mentions about food/poop shit lines.

  43. First, congratz to yela & Em. But won’t you agree that &90 of Eminem’s new material is a bit shitty? If you want to help bring back the Old Marshall, join the #fansdown movement!!!!!

  44. #fansdown

    join the movEm3nt!!

  45. Eminem is a shell of his former self. Corny piss and shit jokes are not humorous nor have they ever been. There’s no substance in his material anymore, even Encore had songs with substance, not made up situations involving buyin a woman a happy meal and then going to payless to buy her shoes but they don’t “sell a size 8 in hoes.”

  49. Take part in #FansDown to reach Eminem to make better rap music in future! Everyone knows his lyrics about poop, penis and shoes is not the Eminem we knows as the G.O.A.T.

  50. @marty what you just said is non sense… if they listen to eminem… they like hip-hop. fact. you lose. go back to being a pokemaster dog.

  51. Eminem’s shit references and fast food references. tinyurl.com/occupyeminem #fansdown

  52. No @king I actually won because his raps are gimmicky and that’s not real hip hop, it’s pop music. Everything that I’m saying now, Jay has already proven so you can call it what you want

  53. ^^^ Thats a troll people.

  54. #FansDown update.

Our website is up. Come join our cause. http://www.studioleaks.info/forums/fansdown/

  55. Me personally I dont even care about the issue anymore and I dont feel the need to talk about who I think is better between Jayz and Em anymore but just so you know, this is only my 2nd comment so this whole time you’ve been talking to a troll. I dont care about white people being on the cover and I have explained why I think Jay is the best and if you dont agree thats fine with me. If you think Em is the best then thats cool also cause at this point I dont even really care.

  56. I did like the Bad Meets Evil album with Royce and Em

This is the main base of operations until our website is up in a few hours. 2 videos of fan made handwritten notes are on youtube. We are serious about this movement. #FansDown.

  62. Okay, first let me tackle the #FansDown movement…

Do you really…I mean, do you TRULY believe that this will gain ANY amount of steam? At all?! First of all, let’s look at the facts.

    1. His “movement” was started by Koolo, a known Eminem leaker that has numerously made an ass out of himself…
    2. You’re trying to contact Em on Twitter…the first thing you should know, is that Em doesn’t even USE his Twitter.
    3. You are in a minority. It’s not like the Occupy movement or something like that. MAJORITY of Em fans STILL BELIEVE THAT HE IS A GOOD ARTIST. The evidence? Continuous sold out concerts.

Y’all keep doing what you do. Maybe you will get Em’s attention. Maybe he will “go back to his true self, that talked about killing bitches and the whatnot”. But also remember that Marshall is a HUMAN BEING, and no human being is going to have the same ideas or views after a long period of time…

Like Jay said, if you want his old shit buy his old albums…

  63. So this #fansdown is a movement to get the old Eminem back. So you want him to go back on drugs, get back with Kim, start beefing with his mom again, get Benzino and Ja Rule to diss him again and then diss them back and freestyle for the Wake Up Show?

And if this is all true then you all don’t give a fuck about the man’s health or family? Since that is what he was risking to make you, the fans, happy and enjoy his music.

    #FuckOuttaHere

  64. That really is not what anyone has said. They miss the creativity and the content. Jokes about fast food, piss, shit and farts are unacceptable for someone of his calibre.

We don’t necessarily want the old Eminem in the sense that he should make MMLP again, what we want for him is to go back to making music with content and being creative in the ones where he isn’t. That is definitely not too much to ask of an artist considered one of the best to have ever done it.

  65. #fansdown isn’t a movement to hate on Em, it’s to constructively criticize, as every good artist needs. People get pissed off about it, but they obviously don’t understand it. We ARE big Em fans. We’re just trying to get him to realize that what he’s put out lately isn’t up to par with what he can do. He doesn’t have to do any of that @Stay Frosty. He just needs to start talking about his life again. When we say to go back to the old him, we just mean to start rhyming with raw, fun lyrics mixed with a message. That doesn’t have to put anyone’s health or family in jeopardy.

  66. @LivingT

I understand that y’all aren’t hating on dude, but I have to say that your organization has a lot of flaws in it, starting with y’alls “leader”.

“He just needs to start talking about his life again.”

Umm…hello? What was a handful of songs on Relapse? What was most of Recovery? What were Lighters and Take From Me from HTS?

This is what I’m talking about. This entire org. has major holes in it.

  67. The problem a lot of people are having is that he is putting out mediocre to good music, when he should be able to put good to great music. Maybe some motivation is what he needs and maybe this movement will provide that motivation.

    What’s the harm in trying?

  68. Now im not just gonna say anything like my troll was earlier and two white rappers on the cover of vibe isnt a problem BUT why isnt Royce on the cover with Em? Its because the BME album really had no real effect with hardcore “hip hop” fans cause its people who still dont even know that album exists. Bruno Mars fans bought that album. WTT had a different effect on hip hop this year. People do kinda act like Em just be killing everything but when you really look at it, most times thats not the case. He may have sales but his influence on the sound of rap music isnt that serious anymore. He started with an original style that he created but these days hes like a cross between Tech N9ne and Tyler the Creator and the guy that screams all the time from Linkin Park. Jayz is the GOAT, I can agree with my troll on that point because sales aint everything. Method Man sold less then 20 million records but he is still respected as a lyricist. Em is respected but most of it is hype because if you ask somebody the lyrics to his songs this year they wont know any lines other then when he rhymed “penis in your anus” on that single I forgot the name of from BME but they know Otis and Niggas in Paris. I know I said id let it go about Ems wackness but Pauly made me wanna just clown his hero again just for fun. LOL

  69. “The problem a lot of people are having is that he is putting out mediocre to good music, when he should be able to put good to great music. Maybe some motivation is what he needs and maybe this movement will provide that motivation.
    What’s the harm in trying?”

I understand your reasoning behind it and its good to know that you still have a true fan motivation. But I also feel that the movement is contradictory, because Koolo (the owner of said movement) purposely leaked BAD Em tracks… But, best of luck anyway.

    _____________________________________________

“why isnt Royce on the cover with Em? Its because the BME album really had no real effect with hardcore “hip hop” fans cause its people who still dont even know that album exists.”

Hahah, you’re so desperate for attention, it’s not even funny. Maybe Royce isn’t on this cover because, well IDK, YELAWOLF’S ALBUM IS COMING OUT AND EM IS TRYING TO PROMOTE THAT INSTEAD OF HTS AT THE MOMENT. And people don’t know about BME? That’s funny, because its certified Gold and one of its singles charted higher than ANY WTT single.

” He may have sales but his influence on the sound of rap music isnt that serious anymore.”

Hmmm…sound influence in rap music versus sound influence in music in general…I wonder which one sounds better?

“He started with an original style that he created but these days hes like a cross between Tech N9ne and Tyler the Creator and the guy that screams all the time from Linkin Park.”

Wait, what? So Em talks about war veterans and army soldiers on his recent tracks? And talks about the topics that Tyler’s talking about? And he screams all the time like “the guy from Linkin Park”? If you actually listened to both mentioned artists, you would know that Em only screamed on HTS WHEN IT WAS NECESSARY.
And the lead singer from Linkin Park hasn’t screamed on a track in years, which shows your ignorance…*sigh*

    “sales aint everything.”

Yet your own envisionment of the GOAT has been quoted as saying “Men lie, Women lie, Numbers don’t!”

“Em is respected but most of it is hype because if you ask somebody the lyrics to his songs this year they wont know any lines other then when he rhymed “penis in your anus” on that single I forgot the name of from BME but they know Otis and Niggas in Paris.”

You just contradicted yourself, sir. If Method Man makes a song, yet it is not known does that make it any less dope?

And don’t even get me started on FastLane vs Niggas In Paris, because one is about hard hitting lyrics while the other…well, people just really like the beat.

  70. First off Vibe is acting like Em is the first white rapper? Hell No theres a long list of white rappers in hip hop, always has been. @Pauly yeah BME is gold now how much did WTT sell? Em doesnt influence any sound of music in any genre including rap because everything he does is a old recycled style that barely effects anything. WTT did not use other peoples sounds from the last few years musically or lyrically because the way Jay rapping on Niggas in Paris is not how he rapped in BP3 or American Gangster. 2nd yeah Em still screams all the time. 3rd Jay can talk numbers after several classic albums and like his 18th rap album, how many albums Em got? He may sell more but his consistency and relevance through out the last decade was 99% hype. 4th yeah I brought up method man but he aint competing with WTT and people should know the BME shit but most hip hop fans think its wack. POP fans and Pink fans and Diggy fans such as yourself think its dope but its trash. Em is lyrically garbage and Yellow Puppy is even worse. This is Ems best verse this year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcFWgnhsx_c

  71. whoever thinks jay-z is GOAT or even top 5 is ignorant. jay-z aint shit hes garbage. Crooked I is GOAT

  72. @marty nobody in hip hop gives fuck about WTT. that shit is mainstream garbage. BME is superior in every way, yela is the future, youre retarded as fuck, mainstream fanboy.

  73. @crook seriously? No seriously? Crooked I over Jayz? Just stop now cause even though Crooked is dope, does he even have a solo album? He been out since like before Jayz and WTT mite have mainstream elements but the first two songs that got hype was H.A.M and Otis. A song titled Hard As A Mothafucka and a song with a dirtyass beat and no hook and thats mainstream to you? Comeonson you should go listen to Lighters again and then listen to Otis.

  74. All of Ems verses the last ten years = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kpK12UTxi4&feature=related

  75. Oh! And speaking of Lighters, Em and Royce’s verse’s shit on Jay and Ye’s.

I’m not even sure if that’s debatable or not, but I’m really trying to gauge your stannery right now…

  76. “Had a dream I was king, I woke up still king
Rap game’s nipple is mine for the milking”

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    “Lift AWWWWFFH!
Rappers hear Watch the Throne, they gon’ be pissed AWWWWFFH
Earth is boring to ‘em, shit is making my dick SSSSAAAAAWWWFFFFHH!”

    :|

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjLgekyOZA0

  77. Thank you for reminding me how much better Lift Off is then the last ten years of Eminems bullshit. Em aint the king of nothing because kings dont sniff other peoples ass for attention.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBxWKihxmCo

  78. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBxWKihxmCo
    Im done LOL

  79. Sad you gotta use fuck shit jokes to try to defend your arguments… Go back to grade school, kid.

  80. @marty yes seriously. jay-z is not lyrical, hes the epitome of mainstream. crooked i is superior. it doesn’t matter how long hes been in the game, that just gives him longevity and hes at his peak right now, bringing lyricism to the mainstream with Shady 2.0 the saviours of hip hop. if you think jay-z is the dopest you are not in the know

  81. Co-Sign @ Pauly Dee, @ Marty Mcfly I Love Jay-z But Kanye Kinda Out Shined Him On This Album (Which Lyrically He’s Been Doing) “Welcome 2 The Jungle”, Why I Love You”, “New Day” And “Prime Time” iz Where Hov Was Getting Off, But The Rest Was Yeezy (No Lie), And Yea Like I Said Ina Another Post About the Yelawolf Track With Em…He Aint Bringin It Like He Used 2 But He’s Still 1 Best Rappers Out There…….U Can’t Talk About Rap/Hip-Hop/Music With Out Bringin Eminem In 2 It…..Period, Even Hov Fuck With Him And Wouldn’t Dare Try 2 Go Head With Him!…..Let’s Not 4get “RENEGADE”…..Jay-Z Got His Ass Handed 2 HIm On That Track An In The Back Of His Mind I Think He Knows That!…….

  82. First off we still gonna talk verses from renegade? Its not even a battle type of song in the first place so how can people even act like it has any aggression I dont know? Jay is talking about real life, no where in that song is he trying to kick battle raps and punchlines and his overall message far out weighed Ems on the song. So going back to a song from ten years ago ( which is from a classic album btw ) is balloons to a blimp at this point. And being mainstream doesnt mean you aint got lyrics cause at the end of the day Crooked I has no albums or successful solo songs that even come close to anything Jay has ever put out. Right now as I speak on VH1 they talking about how 99 problems is one of the greatest songs of all time ( number 21 ) of any genre of music. As for Kanye out rapping Jay? I dont know cause when Kanye was running with 808s and heartbreaks Jay was on American Gangster. Kanye matched Jay with his last album but Empire State was Jay at his best after 15 years in the game. Sooooo I dont know what ya’ll talking about but if you gonna talk down on Jay you gotta make better points then those. No Jay is not perfect and yes im he has some bad songs but overall the nigga crushes every track he gets on.

  83. And verses on WTT are pretty much tied imo because Kanye may have a more emo delivery but Jay is saying things that carry more weight.

  84. Okay marty….give me at least 4 bad Em bars this year…

  85. Now yall got me sounding like my troll from earlier today but its all in fun cause now Doug E fresh is on TV saying Empire State is a masterpiece of a song ( number 8 ) and thats after Hard Knock Life ( I missed what number ) and after they just said Rihannas Umbrella ft. ( you know who ) is the number 11 greatest song of all time and also I already know Beyonce Crazy in Love is up soon. So its like I cant be crazy when every time a “whos the best rapper” debate comes up, I have more then enough evidence to prove Jay is GOAT cause its always right before or after Jay drops a epic album. Oh and at Pauly, Ems first verse on fastlane is “lyrically” one of the worst verses he ever wrote and thats even with ghostwriting help from Big Sean – “im on a roll… Danish” Cmonson. EM aint the worst rapper but he aint even top 50 lyrically anymore cause its been a while since he was rhyming shit like arms are heavy with moms spaghetti. Peace to 2DBZ and the whole dopehouse but im just saying… Out

  86. Oh and its not “greatest songs of all time” on VH1 right now cause that wouldnt even make sense anyway, they talking about songs from the last decade but still. Em was on the list like once but Jay popped up all over they list of 100 songs. Now they mite be on some commercial shit but it is what it is.

  87. You do know that entire first verse was FULL of wordplay and triple entendres? Right?

  88. the verse is full of shit like this and thats all – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kpK12UTxi4&feature=related

  89. “Catch me in my Mercedes, bumpin’ Ice Ice Baby
Screamin’ Shady ’til I die, like a half a pair of dice, life’s crazy”

    -Triple Entendre
1.) “Screamin shady ‘till I DIE, like a half a pair of DICE”

One dice : a Die, pair of dice : two Dice

2.) Em has ‘a (retirement) paradise’ (following off of Royce’s opener of living on an island) waiting for him when he dies (when he’s done as a rapper).
Eminem often refers to his rap career as half-great half-awful

3.) Sets up for the literal use of dice in the following lines with ‘Don’t stop me I’m on a roll’ (as in rolling in his Mercedes, dice rolling, and himself “ON” a roll in his flow)

“Wait, don’t stop me now ‘fore I get on a roll (Danish)”
    -He’s mocking Nicki’s flow. Albeit subliminally…

“You don’t wanna become another victim or statistic of this shit, cause after
I spit the bullets, I’mma treat these shell casings like a soccer ball
    I’mma kick the ballistics,”

    - . A nice play on words as he’s going to kick the shell casings like a soccer ball (BALListics) which is the study of high speed projectiles such as bullets (the ones he spits)

Kick the ballistics is an English expression meaning ‘to realise the seriousness of a situation’

    ______________________________________

Yep, that verse is full of shit…:|

  90. Pauly the whole American Gangster album is a continuous display of metaphors, double and triple entendres and storytelling and connecting themes from the first bar to the last through out 15 songs. Em would get crushed in an instant, breakfast of champions… GOAT meal.

Em would get crushed – Oat meal is crushed oats
in an instant – a play off the “instant oatmeal” brand
breakfast of champions – the cliche used in a way to express Em would be defeated early
GOAT meal – Oatmeal but using GOAT as in Em is just food for the greatest.

Quadruple entendre… Its not that hard to do

  91. I thought it was common knowledge for every hip hop fan that Eminem is one of the great rappers of all time. I think this guys arguing just for the sake of arguing or because he personally doesn’t like Eminem’s music and he can’t look at things objectively. Eminem’s not even in my top 10, maybe not even top 20 personally but I can still recognize and respect his greatness.

  92. really dude on hjere listen to this fag with his mascarra and everything LOL

    gay shit 101

  93. music is emotion (well it was back in the days, now its all about money and sex)
so how can you say this one and this one is th greatest and the best.?!
only because some pop-rapper sell a lot of cd (to little white girls) dont make them the best out… yall some media-led zombies…

eminem the best HA, jay-z the best even a harder HA

yall zombies should go listen to killah priest, krs-one, shabazz the disciple etc. to hear real greatness and wisdom and not some tv pop rap crap bullshit

  94. Damn boy, you dumb and a homosexual to? You just posted a link of Bill O’Reilly dumb ass who nobody but dumb ass republicans watch to entertain false criticism on Obama. Then it’s a clip with one guy 69ing Em at an award show and you happily show it, to prove a dull point. Boy you need a women bad, by the way Lift off is not fucking with Lighters and I listen to all four of they music, once again your obsession for someone who could give a rats ass about you, blurs and distort your vision towards reality. You are pitiful than I thought.

  95. Oh and you can’t say that Em doesn’t have influence, because TO THIS DAY millions of people can recite Lose Yourself on the spot. People that listen to Rap, people that listen to Rock.

  96. 1) I liked Em in Bad Meets Evil, I thought he destroyed it. If anyone disappointed me on that it was Royce, he could have done much better. I liked Recovery, thought that was his realest album in a while. To be honest he kinda lost me after the MMEP until that.
    2) Jay lost me at BP3 and has yet to get me back, if for no other reason than his beat selection. I can’t listen to that trash electro crap.
    3) This is the cause you guys take up while thousands of blacks and whites standing together are being beaten up and pepper sprayed by the cops? And you’ve got shit to say about blacks vs white right now? This is where your energy is going huh? Kinda sad really, and I thought I was watching racism vanish before my eyes watching the Oakland protests today.
    4) I like how Yella handled the question, and I never even listen to him.
    5) It appears we still have a long way to go people.

  97. Ya’ll fucks are wack. If you don’t like Yelawolf or Eminem, then why the fuck are you even reading about them? Why are you so concerned with them? Looks like some of ya’ll don’t have much going for yourselves, that’s very evident when all you do is hate. It’s not like you was FORCED to come here, you chose to…

  98. no its just being made more and more white, eminem, yelawolf, machine gun kelly, mac miller, this seems to be the latest trend right now, its really lame, hip hop is being made more pop, more white, more safe, more suburban, less offensive, basically real hip hop is being killed. Its not even that they’re white, its that they’re some suburban nerds who aren’t really part of the culture. Eminem was, but the others…nah
