i heard that Kanye and Drake were going to be on the dude’s album as well.
I dont get it, Killer Mike is right, Hip Hop is definitely no longer as masculine as it used to be. It is because of shit like this.
No offense to Bieber, he seems like a nice dude. But, what ticks me off is that it is all about sales, it is not a true collaboration. It is just company executives thinking how can bieber expand his market into more than teen pop. that is it.
What happened to real collaborations, when artists would actually collaborate together artistically? Nowadays rappers seem to record 16′s in one studio and just give them to whoever pays for it.
Then we get these big remix songs with one mediocre guy featuring 3 or 4 better rappers because the guy could not make a good song on his own. Or they get some guy like Bruno Mars or Trey Songz on the hook, just so it will appeal to radio and itunes singles.
it is just so obviously lazy the way rappers are these days. That is what sticks out to me. lazy. Busta rhymes raps double-time with the same recycled raps on this song. it just waterdown hiphop. I am just sick of it. sick of lazy rappers who rely on catchy hooks. “that fake thug, R&B rap” -dead prez sick of rappers who just “jump” on tracks. Its being overdone and abused.
No offense to you at all, Detroit89, but I hate it when people say things like you just said. While I agree with what you’re saying, talking about how bad things are “these days” is just silly.
Back during those days you’re reminiscing over, I’m positive they would have been complaining about watered-down hip hop and how lame things are. It’s something that will always happen as hip hop continues to change and grow. It’s not going to be stuck in that hardcore gangster ideology forever. Any genre would die if it didn’t change, no doubt about it.
You’re free to listen to whatever you want, even if it’s Dead Prez on vinyl while chatting about “real hip hop” with your friends, but to complain about what you just did is absurd.
^^^
Hip-Hop no longer being masculine is probably a good thing. The main reason hip-hop fell off is because men thought they had to exude and perform some sort of super masculinity. It stopped being fun, and it stopped being a safe space.
I wont disagree that they got Busta for the sales but I feel it was also because its a cool collabo. The song is dope and busta being exposed to a younger generation isnt all that bad.
@BenoitFlow @StopB1tchhhingB1tch I do not really like gangster rap, mostly conscious rap, like Common, Rootshttp://www.2dopeboyz.com/2011/10/29/justin-bieber-drummer-boy-f-busta-rhymes/#comment-762621, or Nas. But hey, disagree with my point on masculinity. But you cannot argue that too many rappers in the internet age have become almost flamboyantly obsessed with designer brands and expensive liquor. That is all I was saying in that point.
But my main point are about artists who sell themselves out through 16s to be featured on pop singles to make money, instead of good songs on their own that could be featured on their album. Rappers rapping these recycled lines with corny punch-line big sean/drake wordplay or random metaphors that only rhyme but are there for really no reason.
You look at these albums with mediocre guys who probably only sell because they had T-pain or Bruno Mars on the hook or a verse from Weezy or Busta rhymes. all it does is cover up the mediocre main artist. this time it is bieber, he is mediocre. most of yall are not going to spend a dime on him, anyway. so dont give me that bullshit, that this was a good song. it would not be downvoted as so.
@ Detroit 89 — I agree with other dude who said even talking about this kind of thing is wack. I feel like I’m reading youtube comments for any underground hip-hop video. That being said, I’m gonna be a contradictory ass and offer a few words.
You were complaining about people spitting about clothes and liquor, but that’s how it’s been forever. People in hip-hop always rocked chains and spit about the material possessions they own. That’s how shit goes.
Then talking about people getting on poppy songs to make some money. What’s the problem with that? Nowadays the only people buying records are the ones who get music from the radio. Artists are people. They need to eat and support both families and drug habits, just like us. So if it comes down to dropping a 4 mic album that sells 2k first week or making a bunch of tracks with all the popular artists of the moment, why be mad?
Music is music. Some of it seems banal and vapid, but it’s not like Rick Ross or B.o.b. etc. are without merit; perhaps you don’t like them, but other people do. And the music you call garbage can be meaningful to others (and vice versa). So really what are you accomplishing with your grousing? What good does it do to argue over subjective aesthetics, or to label different musical pallets as wrong/faulty/stupid?
Hip-hop needs more love. And a 3 Stacks solo jawn.
yo is it me or does busta look like hes gunna eat that mic!! holy shit it does!!! yo busta a beast if he did shit il go to his concert just to see him swollow that shit. looks like itl hurt on the way down tho… eckh
^^^^^^FUCKING APPLAUD THAT MAN! true true shit couldn’t have put it better my self. and to top it all off he ends it with ”FREE MAX B” I salute you my dude. My only problem with this track is justin bieber actually rapping, its super corny.
@FREE MAX B – FUCKING APPLAUD THAT MAN! true true shit couldn’t have put it better my self. and to top it all off he ends it with ”FREE MAX B” I salute you my dude. My only problem with this track is justin bieber actually rapping, its super corny.
This hook is ass, JB rappin? Actually, better than I thought he’d do, Busta killed it though. That hook though? It’s like he’s tryin to appeal to the college aged rap fans & keep his 12 year old fans in one song, some songs can do that, but not this one son.
I applaud all of you who respect the music. The rest of you are just ignorant fucks. If you don’t like it, fine. Don’t listen to it. Just don’t bash it. Have some respect. Bieber loves hip-hop just as much as we do, so why not let Luda, Busta, Drake, and Kanye work with him? Lady Gaga worked with Wale. She has apparently worked with Dre on Detox. Being mad that Busta is on this track is the same shit as any rapper working with R&B artists like Lloyd. Lloyd’s music is for the ladies, so is Bieber’s. You all are just mad cause Bieber is a 17 year old white kid from Canada. Who gives a fuck?
@RED I see what you mean man but i think what really messes the situation up is the bieber is like 17, that in its self isnt the problem its that he tries to act older than he is and not just that he tries to act ”black”/urban/like a rapper. for me thats what makes it different than just an R&B joint or a cross over joint. e.g. when chris brown was 16-17 he did songs with wayne and juelz but he knew his place and didnt try to rap you know what i mean?
I just say let dude do his thing and make his money.. He’s obviously doing something right. Wayne acted older than he was when he was 14-17 making rap songs. He was pretty dope back then too.
Dudes need to stop hating, it’s only fucking your mind up when you do. Appreciate the fact that this kid followed his dreams, which is something most of you are too afraid of doing. U never hear other artists hating on him because they recognize this, which is what 20 million of his fans realize as well. This is a business move, sure, but more than that, it’s Music.
@prkgfx Nope, I’m a 20-something straight, man of color. I meant safe as in people dont feel comfortable being themselves. Woman dont feel respected. Hiphop is unbelievably sexist and homophobic. Its such a repressive and oppressive art form.
LMAO I guess this was going to be his LUDA ghost written rhyme he was going to spit in the cypher before Premo shut it down. Premo saved dude embarrassment big time

I’m tired of all that “stop hating, just love music the way it is” bullshit. No, I’m not gonna do it! Fuck that! You can talk about music “evolving” and “exploring new artists from other genres” all you want, but let’f not forget the roots! Seriously, it looks like you’re actually defending Justin Bieber. This is the perfect evidence of how music industry is screwing up hip hop. Just like it did with rock music 2 decades ago.
Call me a hater, but my hate is reasonable! FUCK J.B.
I would like to hear Busta paired with Atsronomical Kid. He would rap better than Justin Beaver and would kick Busta’s Ass if he tries to get whack on track :D
@RED lil wayne is a rapper so he can rap all day. Justin beiber is a disney-pop ass little boy and its an embarassment to hip-hop that he feels comfortable rapping
