Considering you’ve mentioned Styles P in every scenario… I just have one (well, maybe two) questions. Do you consider Saigon a nobody? And if so, are you on crack right now?

Statik is horrible, his beats are wacksauce and he just tries to hard.
Take a break for a minute, see if people start asking for Statik tracks…..they won’t.

^^ You’re all missing the point. People don’t ask for Statik tracks, they ask for whole albums (Saigon, Term, Action Bronson). The “people” you are referring to don’t want Statik beats because they’re not mainstream hits; But that’s not what Statik is about. He fills a niche in hip hop. The niche where real MCs, that can actually rap, and aren’t in the limelight because of bullshit, commercialized, marketed rap, go to get dope boom-bap type beats. Any old schmuck can download Fruity Loops and make a radio hit with a popular sample, heavy bass, and a catchy hook. Why doesn’t Statik do it you ask? Why not sell out? Maybe he’s content where he is, and he’d rather live comfortably, making cult-hit music that real hip hop fans enjoy, rather than sell out, and end up like Scott Storch.

Nobody is putting out more quality music right now than Statik! If you don’t like it, it probably wasn’t meant for you anyways. Real Hip Hop lives…

Yeah Statik fills a purpose but his production hasn’t developed at all in the last few years and it gets tired, FAST! My main problem with the this track is the meaningless hook which includes meaningless Jared Evan. Step it up Stat! You got skills, you got MCs, where’s your ears at tho?!

I have to agree that Statik Selektah is really lame 85% of the time but I really like this track.. the beat is smooth and the lyricist are on point. I wouldn’t change a thang on this one!
