The way he describes it, you’d think it’s going to be his own version My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Or something. Anyways, we’ll all find out next month.

this dude is just so disingenuous and conceited. idk how the only thing that can go thru a persons mind on the come up in their moms basement is strip clubs, drinks, and girls. this dude never thought about life, people, religion, the world as a whole and how he could make an impact on it? the same reasons i dont like drake as a person is why i dont like his music. if his music is a reflection of his true character then he’s an awful person, and if it isnt then he’s a fake muhfucka, but in either case its not my style. no disrespect to anyone who enjoys it

All I know is that he has Andre 3000 & Stevie Wonder on the album. The rest doesn’t even really matter.
ear2ear said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:07 pm
@thatrealshit but he did impact the world though. I know some people just dont like Drakes music which is cool but I think some people just have a problem with Drake cause they got there own issues. Like stop it son, you know what he was trying to say about the fast life and how easy it is for people to lose themselves in it. He basically saying to stay grounded as a person and you take that as being fake? Stop it man.

why are you forcing your opinion on people?
wasting space and time.
obviously drake’s message is duplicitous at best. and around these parts, we know a snake even if he got nothing but green surrounding him.
MOVE ON!
pastacio nut said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:25 pm
I thank this will be the best project drake ever made but to say it will be his version of mbdtf is taking shit 2far.Drake still got a long way to go before his name can be mentioned in anything with k.west.But i will say drake has yet to release a wack track since he’s been in the game its a time & place for every song this nigga released his album easily could be album of the year.
rell said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:26 pm
@ marty
where in that statement did he say anything about stayin grounded? i believe he said he’s “the king of that life now”. and how has he impacted the world, whos life has he impacted with his music? like i said, drake might be genuine in his music, but if thats him 100% in his songs then the dude is fuckin shallow and egoistic. i dont care if MC’s wanna right about strippers and money and drinks and girls cuz guys like kendrick, krit, cole, nas, outkast, and countless others have and will do it. but drake just gives u one side, he never writes about struggles in his community or growin up or friends or family or religion or society. theres no human element to his music, its just materialistic and self imposed. im not gonna argue with u about it cuz i dont think ive ever agreed with one of ur comments, thats my opinion, if u dont agree with it fine ur entitled

wtf thats all he talk aboutin his music have you heard “the calm” “fireworks” “club paradise”??
dre said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:38 pm
@thatrealshit
You act like Drake should start trying to rap like Saigon or something but all those things you say he doesnt rap about are in his music you just didnt hear it. I think people are threatened by his musical ability because when has this dude tried to act hard or tell everybody he selling keys in the hood? Never, dude raps about being in love all the time so whats the problem really? I dont think he’s gonna be telling people to wild out and go crazy on the album, I think he just saying look I got all this fame shit but im not completely just acting outta control, which is a good message. Cause as much as I am a fan of Kanye West we all know that fame and success almost killed his career several times. With the Car crash, the Taylor Swift shit and Drake simply saying dont be changing up cause of fame. Is Drake rapping like Lupe? Hell No but he aint rapping like Gucci mane either. Your saying who has he impacted with his music but you already know who, damn near every single fan of hip hop in some kind of way thats who. Now I used to clown Drake all the time but only cause he used to dress like a idiot but since the first album I dont understand why IMO Drake is the most hated hip hop artists in the game but yet he aint bothering nobody.
marty mcfly said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:46 pm

STOPPPPP IT.
CRY ME A RIVER.
DRAKE IS NOT THE MOST HATED RAPPER. HE GETS THE EQUAL AMOUNT OF HATE THAT EVERY HIP-POP ARTIST GETS.
AND BASED OFF OF SALES ALONE…HE’S MORE LIKED.
EITHER WAY, THE DUDE LACKS SUBSTANCE IN HIS CURRENT MAINSTREAM MUSIC. A LOT OF IT. NO HE’S NO LUPE. BUT TO MUCH IS GIVEN, MUCH IS EXPECTED.
HE’S WASTING HIS TALENTS WITH THIS DAME, TEARS, AND FAME THEME. NOT SAYING HE SHOULD NOT MAKE MONEY BUT THERE IS A BAD SIDE AN EGO.
PRIDE BEFORE THE FALL. AND WHEN THIS GUY FALLS…MAYBE THEN HE WILL MAKE MORE HUMAN MUSIC. BUT IM NOT HOLDING MY BREATH ON THIS DUDE.
pastacio nut said this on October 17th, 2011 at 3:54 pm
@dre
fireworks doesnt mention friends or family. the whole song is about fame, him blowin up, and haters. “wayne put me rite here, thats who i get paper with” thats the only time he mentions someone other than himself the entire song
the calm does mention his city and love for his mom briefly but the theme of the entire song is him takin over the game and girls
and club paradise could be one of his realest songs and he still has a line that says “she (talkin about his mom) think ive become a slave to the wealth”…i mean if ur mom says that shit i think i got a point
my opinion is based mainly off drake on his albums and the fact that he has changed since his mixtapes. i honestly cant name a song off thank me later or take care or any recent track thats been released that has any depth what so ever. and the ones u mentioned were more about fame than friends or family too

when i say impact i mean in a positive way. a few more niggas mite own cosby sweaters and a few more bitches mite think theyre listenin to hip hop but the dude hasnt influenced anyone to do anything positive with their lives. if we followed his way of livin we’d sit in a strip club drinkin and chasin bitchin all day. does the dude do anything else? and read the post to dre, cuz ive listened to plenty of his shit, a lot of my friends love it. but any ounce of depth the dude puts in his music is completely overshadowed by his talk about money, clothes, girls, and most of all fame. just cuz he says hes the realest out in every single song dont mean he is. actions speak louder than words my man

Im not tripping cause I know that everybody aint even really mad at Drake they mad at some other shit but dont front dude. I have never ever seen this level of hate in hip hop before. EVER. This dude gets hated on by other rappers, Radio hosts, Bloggers, writers, comedians etc… For what? Lil B dont even get as much hate.

you obviously lack objectivity in this issue.
so, let me put it this way.
he sold 500K in a week. no way he is the most hated.
his singles are all over every blog and station. no way he is the most hated.
his album is the most anticipated this year. no way he is the most hated.
he is hated on by few and they hate him because of his conceited nature. did you not listen to or watch the video?
pastacio nut said this on October 17th, 2011 at 4:06 pm

dude but once again that shit is overpowered by the first 2 verses. the first one is about him gettin famous and gettin money with wayne and the second one hes talkin about gettin girls. “im just such a gentleman you should give it up for me”. the majority of the song isnt about that shit, im glad dude finds room to mention his parents but once again, overall, the song just doesnt do it for me

But thats my point, he has done so much what is the hate really about then? BigGhost has a whole blog dedicated to clowning Drake 95% of the time. Every single week there is a new joke being made or some photo shopped pic being posted about Drake on most of the blogs but yet whats he doing besides making good music? @thatrealshit I say he effected hip hop in a positive way because in 08 hip hop in the mainstream was mostly about killing, selling drugs and balling outta control then Drake built his whole buzz off rapping about down to earth material and girls. Now a couple years later everybody music has softened up ( good thing I can listen to Cats & Dogs ) but anyway people get mad about him always rapping about love which I can understand but those people werent mad about everybody rapping about gangsta shit before Drake but now those same rappers is singing now. Im done with it cause I really dont give a fuck but I just be thinking like what is the problem really? Its gotta be his success or his musical ability ( the fact that he can actually rap ) that people are so mad at cause alot of these other rappers that people be praising come in and put a black eye in the game thats all im saying. Done

obviously you used a poor example. BIG GHOST FACE IS A CLOWN.
why are you listening to him? Or going to his blog?
granted, drake’s exposure can lead to more detractors. but it’s not hate.
hate is a strong word and is over used by rap blog feens like you. obviously, his music is for rich people or those who want to be rich, and females.
that’s all he wants to rap about. but that is not all he knows. occasional deep lines can’t save this dude.
he’s great for hip-pop, bad for hip-hop. too me…he’s a more feminine Nelly.

I dont see how people can hate on Drake yo. To me, he is not the greatest rapper, but his songwriting skills are phenomenal. He makes relateable music despite being rich and famous. No he is not conceited, he is just a young person having fun and acknowledging his flaws through his music. How can you hate on that?

Drake can write some songs, yo. He’s got variety between mixtapes and albums too. You can have a Comeback Season mood, or a So Far Gone mood. I think it’s dope. Sorry if it’s not for you. I personally think Evidence talks about being so underground and true hip-hop so much that it does nothing for me sometimes. *Shrug*
