I would have not been aware of the independent scene nor the underground scene if I didn’t kinda accidentally lead my way here, bout 3 years ago. I was on that new shit looking for the newest Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, etc… you know that music in demand for my little CD burning business I had going at that time. The hunt somehow lead me to splash, and then the NMC. Man the NMC had them “exclusives” on lock. I would come across artist I had never heard, one of them being blu it sounded so fresh to me, it was music I could relate to. I heard Below the Heavens and was wondering why he wasn’t recognized by a high volume of people…..so i decided to school my self. Ever since then its been pure good music rather it be that boom bap, soul, older artist, upcoming artist, lyricism or production its good music to my ears, its inspiration and respect to all those artist on the grind.

Nowadays with c-sections giving you the ability to directly reply (Discus) I get frustrated looking through the whole string to see responses on some sites, but the c-section on here is so entertaining sometimes I’ll scroll though like 100 of them just to see all the interesting, but most times dumb conversations play out. Def has been a good way for me to waste time at work (it should be a crime how much money I’ve made while reading this site). I’ve been coming here since the beginning…didn’t realize it’s been so long. The c-section could use some reworking, though it’s not a big deal. And I think it’s always good to remember this is your Blog, and having a personality is what sets it apart from many other blogs. If you don’t show your opinions of the music you post and decide exactly what you will post instead of just being cordial all the time and posting everything to be fair it wouldn’t be anything but a music news site. Lupe Fiasco is IMHO one of the best artists in hip hop today, but he can be called out just as easily as anyone else. Odd Future…maybe at 25 I’m too old to rock with them. Keep up the good work.

I would say that Shake and Meka and some of the other contributors to the site have a very good taste in music and if they post it chances are I will open a ear to listen to. 2dopeboyz acts as a filter of new music.
