MTV News spoke to Slaughterhouse on the BET Black Carpet about the Shady 2.0 Cypher. The foursome crowned Eminem King of the Cypher, called themselves the best group in rap and even took a low-key shot at The Throne.

Eminem king of the Cypher?? REALLY?? Now, I’m an Eminem fan myself as well, but the amount of respect other rappers give him just cuz he’s Eminem baffles me. I know deep down at least Budden, Royce, and Joell KNOW they’re verses were better than Em’s, but everyone’s always too scared to say ANYTHING. Even during the cypher it seemed like they were OVER-ACTING when Em was spittin to make it look like he was killing it… knowing DAMN WELL they’re verses were hotter than Em’s. And I remember when that “Forever” track came out with Drake, Wayne, Kanye, and Eminem on it… and at one point later Lupe kicked his own verse over it later at a concert, Lupe claimed that his verse had bested EVERYONE on the track EXCEPT Eminem. WHAT?? First off, Em didn’t even have the hottest verse on THAT track… and why would Lupe say he killed everyone on the track EXCEPT Em? Why the fuck do cats always show him so much respect?? JAY-Z doesn’t even get that kind of respect. Why are cats so nervous to say Eminem’s NOT the best?? Like i said… I’m an Eminem fan too, but the amount of respect he gets, to the point that nobody DARES say anything short of “He’s the BEST” really baffles me. Man up. He’s good, but he DOESN’T ALLLLWAYS have the best verse and it’s OK to say it sometimes. Siiiiiiggghhhh.

I’m not sayin their opinions are WRONG… I’m saying they’re LYING because they wouldn’t DARE say anyone else had a better verse than Eminem because it’s almost like you’re just NOT ALLOWED to say that. It seems like there’s an unwritten rule that you as a rapper always have to say Eminem had the best verse in any cypher or on any track he spits on alongside other rappers. And I believe alot of times other rappers even know this is true, but are just too nervous to say it. It’s like saying anything less than “Eminem is the best” is disrespectful to Eminem. It’s just disappointing that he’s the only rapper that gets that level or respect.
Has he not earned it? He is the most successful hip hop artist ever and yet he still does things like cyphers, and small venue shows. He defines hip hop at the core…people like Jay, while hot…are more about their persona in public and it shows with how lazy his rhyming has become. Em, 38, super popular, has nothing left to prove…still spits his ass off everytime he is given a mic.

You made a point about how if a person is a MC that writes bars themselves then they hear raps differently which is true. So I believe alot of writers can hear a Em verse and see that its really not that complicated or remarkable. Yes Em has skills and Yes I know people think I just hate Em but the truth is that rapping super fast and screaming does not mean that what he’s saying or how he delivers it is better then everybody else. I think Just saying is right about if your in the game you cant say Em isnt the best and especially if your signed to his label. Isnt the first law of power to never outshine the master ( meaning the person you work for )? Em definitely has earned his position but acting like he’s the God Mc just because he sold the most is bullshit especially when many MCs have put out more music and have had more hits then Em. Then people wanna shit on Jayz? Well his next solo will be his 19th album if you include is collaboration albums so how do you talk down on that but praise Em? That makes no sense. Before you respond in rage acting like its law to think Em is the best just understand the other opinion first.

that was some serious nut holding if you ask me…eminem king of the cyphers?????black thought got in his ass last year and so did budden and joell and crooked this year…eminem’s flow is crazy but he doesnt really say shit. his last two albums were shit!i agree with homie people are scared to say something bad about em..you would think he is the god of hip hop music or something.us black folks dont even hold our own mc’s in that regard.
