Immortal Technique at #OccupyWallStreet (Video)

Earlier Tech was present at #OccupyWallStreet and (unlike Kanye) had some words to say to DemocracyNow.

People say that you know what, I want concrete solutions, I want people held accountable for what they did wrong. I want governments to realize that they’re not just going to get a free pass for their horrific record of human rights, even if you’re supported by America, because we have deals to exploit your national resources. I think that’s what people are genuinely concerned with.

He then proceeds to close the brief convo with some lines off Toast From The Dead

  1. thats more like it.

  2. jeez….. guess these corporate cats are the ones disliking this video.

  3. These hippies aren’t going to be happy until everybody is broke, smelly, and angry like they are. I’m gonna get mine regardless and could give a fuck about wall street.

  4. What’s Up With All The Dislikes?

  5. i guess Herman Cain(Uncle Rukus)and the Rest Of Faux News must of disliked this 60x’s…damn!!..

  6. Or maybe a lot of people just think that protesting for the sake of protesting, without any particular cause or goal, is fucking retarded.

  7. Protesters!? Please. Martin luther king is rolling in his grave. I was watching coverage of several protests across the country earlier and saw many “protesters” more conerned with texting and sleeping than actually protesting anything. If they want this “protest” to develope into an effective and significant movement they need to come up with a cohesive message and at least act like they really give a damn…even then it wont make much of an effect on wallstreet practices. There is way to much money going to to many big players for things to change. The best way to protest the huge corporarations is to boycott their goods. Unfortunatly generation y is severly apathetic and feel way to entitled to sacrifice convenience for any cause… Rant over

  8. Yall idiots are getting mindfucked by the media, before you pass judgment on the protesters actually go out there and see for yourself..dont let the media influence your opinion because all they are going to do is make it seem like a bunch of hippies who dont know anything and make it seem like this movement isnt legitimate

  9. You do realize that if we took ALL the profits from ALL banks last year, we could run the federal government for a grand total of 6.8 days right? RIGHT? These smelly hippies should be protesting outside Congress and the White house if they knew what was what.

  10. No we are not, bullshit is smelly so its easy to recoignize….i live in san diego and as I was walking to get lunch yesterday 1500 idiots were blocking the sidewalks, chanting different messages, holding up signs with different messages, and name calling (you know, because that so effective, smh) and to what end? It literally was a bunch of umemployed, incoherent dummies who had no idea wtf they were protesting. I was thinking that maybe enrolling in a class or two, seeking out employment finding a trade, anything would be a more effective use of their time. If it walks like one, and talks like, one…

  11. anybody notice the ymca dude with the shades and jean shirt secret service lookin-boi!!?? he comes in at the end of the rappz

  12. Oh right these are the same idiots who dissed kanye for showing them solidarity and support just because he’s wealthy.

  13. @Anyone who has already, or is going to comment on this to talk shit about the protestors and their goals:

Unless you have taken some political science courses either in high school or college/university, read some books on the topics, researched some scholarly journal databases on the topic, shut the fuck up. If you don’t have at least a general understanding of how the world works (which i can tell a lot of you don’t) then why are you commenting?

“These hippies aren’t going to be happy until everybody is broke, smelly, and angry like they are. I’m gonna get mine regardless and could give a fuck about wall street.”

Yeah man, we’re gonna get ours but what about the other 90% of the world’s population that doesn’t have access to liveable wages, clean water, or education? You don’t realize how lucky we are to live in a developed nation.

Learn about the subject before you speak on it, you know who you are.

  14. @chicago looks like someone finished school looking to apply that degree.

  15. @prk

first of all, i dont really understand what that was supposed to mean. if you’re trying to say that i finished school and can’t find a job with my useless degree then good one i guess man. But stop trying to change the subject, if you want to insult someone over the internet ill gladly give you my email so you can msn message me some more good jokes and stop deviating from the topic of global inequality and protest in this c-section.

  16. @chicago what the hell does taking a poli sci class have to do with anything? Do you think buckshot would care if religious conservative group protested duck downs building calling for a change in lyrical content? Do you think he’d feel compelled to take the the label’s sound in a new direction? The obvious answer to those questions is no….these “protesters” are grossly misguided and ignorant..if they want change they should be protesting on the lawn of the capital building not on wall street. Politicians make laws and regulations not the fat cats themselves. If thats to difficult for you to comprehend then your a lost cause anyway so no need to further explain..

  17. why do people dislike this?
    this guys a SMART man
    ur all dumbfucks

  18. @chicago

just a joke. I stand for what these people are doing. im glad its getting coverage and im glad to see people with a name bringing light to this.

I dont understand the massive hate towards the movement. The main thing, from what i understand, their demands are not crazy. They are no asking for handouts, the fall of government, or capitalism to be destroyed.

They seem to be asking for corporations to be held responsible for their actions, transparency of tax dollars, incentives to keep jobs in the USA, and the media to assume better responsibility for providing accurate, complete information.

  19. @2ndera

Taking a poli sci class has to do with everything. If someone hasn’t done any research in that field than they don’t know the kind of economic and political problems the world is facing and probably shouldn’t be speaking negatively about it.

“if they want change they should be protesting on the lawn of the capital building not on wall street. ”

I don’t personally think it matters where they protest. Either way, the government will take notice and so will more people who support the cause. It’s getting media coverage regardless. I’m not saying they’re gonna change the world just by standing around Wall Street but it’s a start. This could be the catalyst that leads to the eventual change.

I don’t know man, read the Immortal Technique quote at the top. That’s what this protest is about. It’s not just an American issue its an issue of global human rights.

  20. Fuck the rest of the world. We’re only obligated to look out for Americans, and God knows we have enough problems of our own.

  21. NOW I REALLY ENJOYED YOUR PROTEST WHERE YOU BLOCKED THIE BROOKLYN BRIDGE QND I GOT LOVE FOR ALL YOU NIGGAZ BUT THE THING ABOUT YOU #OCCUPYWALLSTREET PROTESTORS IS…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. YOURE IRRELEVANT! BASEDGOD!

  22. @ent thats the truth…not fuck the rest of the world like i hope they die…but its not our responsibility..and acting like it is will only fuck the world up even more. these people arent protesting the 12countries who allow human trafficking. theyre not protesting current genocides. theyre not protesting the food epidemic in north africa. theyre not doing anything! i work inside those buildings…these people cuss me out daily because im young with a suit. grinding my ass off making 35000 monthly. there is no rhyme or reason for any of this.

whoever said Malcolm is turning in his grave had it right. theyre so close but soooo far. and thats why people show up. because they want to be a part of something…and they want it given to them by standing around all day. if you want something, get it..dont yell at someone to give it to you. draft a fucking bill yourself!
if you hate politicians…run for office!

this is the worst representation of how our democracy is supposed to work and how capitalism functions.

this is really embarrassing for america.

  23. 35hundred. not thousand. haha

  24. I don’t think Tech has gotten this many dislikes… too many haters and dumb motherfuc*ers checking out 2dopeboyz tonight.

  25. @Wiff!

It’s not our responsibility as humans to try to prevent other human beings from suffering? Disagree. But let’s say it’s impossible for us to help them, can we at least stop exploiting them? Can we at least stop openly endorsing human rights violators whenever its convenient for us? Saddam was alright until all of a sudden Haliburton lost the bid on that oil line in Iraq and we decided to accuse him of harboring nuclear weapons. Come on man… Something’s not right here. You wanna fix America’s problems how about not spending 650 billion of tax payer dollars on the military instead of education and investment in infrastructure which would create jobs. I’m not saying it’s an easy problem to fix but come on.

  26. @Wiff, that statement was hella ignorant dude.

  27. @Chicago i still havent left the office and like an idiot, instead of finishing up tommorows work, i’ll reply. (SMH) so dismiss the fast typos please

giving the education system more money will not fix anything.

its not the american govts job to save other countries from oppression…@globalstudies if that was actually your major you would understand that another country invading a third world country to “save” them has never worked in the history of the world. in order for those countries to be saved they HAVE to do it themselves. and unfortunately many will suffer for those future freedoms…just like our forefathers.

its not corporate greed thats creating these problems chicago, its the govt… if anything corporate $$$ creates the opportunities for the very human rights your speaking on.

i have close friends in uganda/bordering countries, croatia, vietnam, siberia…the list goes on.

THEY are the ones who are making a difference…not these classless unorganized sidewalk hooligans. and i give 15% of my monthly income so they can do their thing.

no need for govt to take my money and give it to their corrupt NPOs.
    its self responsibility.

its the people who change things. the govt. the corps. these ARE people. OUR people…we pledge allegiance to the same flag.

but these protesters arent changing anything.. if they really wanted to theyd put in 20years hard work and make sure this never happens again…but they wont.

ill try and reply if you do @chicago its all love

  28. @Wiff!

First of all, good for your friends for helping out in those countries and good for you for giving 15% of your income to help and yes your friends and yourself are making a difference.

As for giving more money to education not helping anything. You put some of the military budget in Universities and Colleges and we have cheaper tuition and more kids who can afford to get a post-secondary education. As a result we have more electricians, more engineers, more doctors, more people qualified for more jobs in general. Look at any country in Western Europe or Canada as an example. People in Europe don’t pay for college because it’s subsidized and that’s at least part of the reason why their crime rates are nothing compared to ours and their unemployment is usually almost nothing compared to ours. (i realize we’re in a global recession so their unemployment is higher right now and so is ours but 5 years ago this applied and it will apply again after the recession.)

And yes i agree that invading a country to impose human rights has never worked but i’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting that we stop exploiting them.

“its not corporate greed thats creating these problems chicago, its the govt… if anything corporate $$$ creates the opportunities for the very human rights your speaking on.”

It’s both in my opinion. Look at Disney, look at Nike, look at Wal-Mart. I’m not against setting up factories overseas but if you do, at least give them a liveable wage. Michael Eisner makes like 100, 000 dollars an hour and he’s paying his sweatshop workers 17 cents and hour. I realize that 17 cents is worth a lot more in Vietnam but it’s still not close to a livable wage for them.

As for the protesters, you may be right about them going about it wrong. But at least they’re standing up for an issue and bringing awareness to it. And some of them probably are uneducated or ignorant about the issue but I don’t think it’s fair to put all of them in that category.

  29. There are some ignorant people who check up on 2dopeboyz.

Those who are out protesting are doing something to change their situation, their reality. It might be about unemployment or it might be about a list of other fucked up things they’re going through.

To go against that, these ignorant fools talking shit about the protests are on the wrong blog and listening to the wrong music.

Hip-Hop came out from struggles that people are STILL facing today, to deny that is to say your don’t know or respect Hip-Hop.

****Haters go back to listening to soul-less music that you might associate yourselves with and sit complacent****

  30. here is the full 16min version. i got mad respect for technique and he kicks alot of knowledge in this full version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aC77HGZLTkA

  31. underground hiphop blogs are filled with some of the most hypocritical, ignorant, and arrogant motherfuckers out there. Eating up all that mainstream media propaganda, thinking you’re actually forming your own opinion about shit. This is real life, quit listening to rich crackers and do some fucking RESEARCH.

  32. How Come Black People think they OWN protests? Seriously it was MLK, Some other niggas, some crackers, and some mexicans. That was 1 time not like if black people have been protesting every year….9% Unemployment, 20 Million Jobless, Who knows how many homeless….You don’t think that’s fucked up? Black ppl say “i ain’t got no job because i’m black, so why you mad at protests? Because it wasn’t started by some black person right? Ignorance……….

  33. 126 people are a sleep…
keep listening your baphomet satan worship kangay west and gay-z shit
    fucking devil worshippers
    immortal is the thruth

  34. How did 129 people thumbs down this? I bet none even watched the video, go back to believing the TV news is telling you the truth.

  35. @drugante

Haha yup. Herman Cain = Uncle Ruckus = House nigga x2. I bet the dislikes are from Faux News supporters and if not, then people completely ignorant to what is actually going on. The fact that ppl are oblivious to how some of these people (politicians, bankers, etc) truly operate is quite sad. Smh @ some of the replies, I highly doubt the ignorant ones were posted by adults. At least i hope lol.
