This is why I appreciate what J.Cole and Black Milk does. They don’t need anyone to put them on. And they generally write quality raps with their albums lacking features.
Personally since Hip Hop has diversified to an extent where you can’t even call it hip hop no more I think you gotta have a little more then a few raps these days. Gone are the days where you got a Hov coming through. I mean you have Drake (in terms of popularity) but he can “sing” and song write for artists in multiple genres. Even JayElec produces despite his taps being 10x what Push’s are.
Rappers gotta bring more to the table these days.
