I dont know man. Im gonna give the project a shot though. He said its gonna be out on Halloween.
I love UNI, but Thurz’ solo album was way better than anything they put out as a group. judging from this I can see what Thurz meant when he said Y-O wasn’t pulling his weight lyrically. He looks like he’s going through a midlife crisis in this video. I can see Thurz going far and moving on to bigger things while Y-O is gonna get left in the dust.
Damn what the hell is this? This is the music you hear when you walk into a small unknown bar in the middle of Nebraska.
Reunite U-N-I? They just split up to do their solo stuff.. don’t think they’ll ever be back together anyway..
as a U-N-I fan. My heart gently weeps
That jeezy and TI is dope. This ain’t. U-N-I did their thing, but Thurz can do a lot more without being dragged down by this joke.
I like his steez but with the glut of rappers out there I think we can live without him.
I was a huge fan of U-N-I, but shit happens. Both artist have different swags, and Yonas’ new vision & sound is interesting. Until I listen to the final product then I’ll be quick to judge, for now I’ll wait until Halloween. Looking forward to what Yonas has under his sleeves, I mean home boy had Alex Carapetis on the drums at that show, this dude has drummed for Nine Inch Nails an shut shit down at coachella before. I’m sure Yonas is doing something right.
Its a shame that people are taking sides just because Thurz was being messy in an interview. Not everything is about spittin raw lyrics. Like The Great Dane said, Alex Carapetis is his drummer, dont could Yonas out just yet. Sounds like all you guys listen to is rap. Fuckin Sheep.
@Noe In no way am I taking sides. UNI was a hip hop group, so as a hip hop group lyrics matter. Its about content. And in the interview you’re referring to (http://bit.ly/nmWlGt), Thurz stated to succeed as UNI (a hip hop group) they needed to step they lyric game up, and I guess Thurz felt Yo didn’t want to go that route. Yes artist can make feel good, fun songs. But great artist also have things to talk about as well. The angle Yo wants to go in is comparable to NERD. NERD makes feel good songs, but they also make songs that have a subject matter i.e ‘Sooner or Later’, ‘Provider’ to name a few. I haven’t heard Yo’s new mixtape yet, and so he may just have songs like this. I’m a friend to Yo so no shade thrown here. But people should definitely stop comparing the two, and just support. Support good music and stfu :-)
