J. Cole: In The Zone

With J. Cole releasing his debut album tomorrow, our family over at Complex has announced “Cole World” week. To start things off, they put up and online cover story (which was written by Cole’s college friend and roommate) that looks back at his early struggles. UPDATE: After the jump, check part two of his sit down with the homegirl Yaya Martinez.

  3. No disrespect but this nigga always got that same expression like somebody jacked his bike.

  4. His story is better than his actual music, people want him to win due to his persona, not the fact that his music is incredible. #fact

  5. In before “marty mcfly” and “NYC/BROOKLYN”. (In after “Rezo”)

Same people. Same shit. Get a new hobby.

  6. @Rezo just shut up and realize you don’t know what everyone else thinks. Just cuz you don’t like his music doesn’t mean nobody does.

Rezo doesn’t like J. Cole because he got more popular and Rezo wants to feel smart by having a different musical taste than the majority. #fact.

see, i can be a faggot too.

  7. Truth hurts, huh? Grow a set, son.

  8. @Rezo

You do realize its possible to like his persona AND his music right? I admit he doesn’t make the best songs sometimes but dude make’s some incredible music. Lost Ones, I Get Up, Dreams, Breakdown, Enchanted etc.

  9. Great Article.

  10. @Rezo
    You Grow a set, kid
Acting like you know how everybody thinks like only a pretentious moronic kid would do.
There are people that like his music but not him.
There are people that like him but not his music.
There are people that like his music AND him.

So grow up kid and stop thinking that your little opinion is fact.
There is a whole world out there and you are just one person.

  19. I’m gonna keep my peace this week. I’m gonna turn off the phone, turn off the internet, no sign languages and no smoke signals. I’m gonna be on my see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil. the no sleep til Brooklyn slogan will be on a temporary vacation. I’ll let this nigga fans enjoy his album release week. I wish him the best and hope he has enough fools to buy his album. I’ll be investing my time this week collecting butterflies in central park, playing the banjo for the old folks at the Sheepshead nursing home here in Brooklyn, and giving out thanksgiving turkeys in front of the Pep Boys in 4th ave. these new hobbies should keep me occupied for the rest of the week. big ups to 2dopeboyz for duck hunting them stunt doubles yesterday. keep Jesus in your heart niggaz.
