J. Cole Brings Out Kendrick Lamar In Los Angeles (Video)

J. Cole performed in front of a sold out crowd, just a few hours ago, in Los Angeles and brought out Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick performed a bit of “P & P” and the Cole-produced “HiiiPower.” Jermaine also kept Kendrick on stage and performed “Enchanted,” featuring the vocals of a West Coast legend. – Janice

  1. I been listening to the Cole World leak and I must say, its quite the disappointment. Yes it has his moments but overall I dont know, its like a 6/10 for me. Not that yall ask tho…LOL

  2. COLE WORLD

    SEPTEMBER 27th

MY NAME IS NYC/BROOKLYN AND I PRE-ORDERED THE ALBUM!

  3. Well, album is a 9.5 out of 10 for me. Easily my favorite of the year.

    Not that you asked.

  4. The album is very very good. Cole put his heart into it. Amazing debut.

  5. i hope their still working on that mixtape soon..that shit is gonna be flamez!!!

  6. that album is dope..so hate on!..
    ,,

  8. Album is dope…can’t wait for the 27th

  9. Am i the only one who noticed Cole is wearing a boot. Dude broke his leg?

  10. got tix for him in Atl…hope he brings someone out then

  11. I was at the after party at Club Highlands and he ripped it! Shit was dope

  12. Just stop hating/dickriding Cole. The C-Section here is f-cked up since a few weeks. But thats a proof Cole got a bright future when everybody speaks about him.

  13. @1dopeboy Trey Songz to do Can’t Get Enough?

I don’t know abt you guys but to me the album is pretty damn good. Does anyone wish the song Cole World had a harder beat??? After hearing it on the Cosmic Kev shit, that song could’ve been a BANGER on a harder beat but its still good

  14. I’m still waiting for the Kendrick and Cole track to drop that Kendrick previewed at some store

  15. J. Cole is the Tim Tebow of Rap. He was a college/mixtape star who excelled, garnering acclaim for great body of work. Like Tebow, Cole won big time twice with his mixtape albums The Warm Up & FNL. And like Tebow, a big time organization (Roc Nation) gave him a chance to be a star (flagship artist).

Tebow and Cole are both well liked and respected for being great students and exciting in their field (while they were in their collegiate form). But since they hit the professional ranks, past accomplishments don’t matter… no matter how many fans support via buying jerseys and tickets (albums and tour sales). In the end, Cole’s supporters sound like Skip Bayless, who think Cole is God’s Gift and change the game for years to come. And Cole’s detractors sound like Merrill Hodge, who think Cole is mediocore at best and is playing out of pocket as a mainstream artist.

Both sides sound equally annoying, because Cole like Tebow is only 2 years into the pro game. Thus, he is no greatest ever (Tupac), and he is no bum (OJ Da Juiceman). Cole is a guy trying to be a starter but for now he’s riding the bench just like Tebow. And that is the sideline story in a nut shell.

  16. @ honest & real *slow claps begin*

  17. We need that Kendrick x Cole Mixtape!

Annnnd yall are trippn hard if you dont like his new album.. the only songs that were weak was “work out” and “Mr Nice Watch”… oh well Cant please em’ all… So i guess its back to the traphouse rap for you den.. Comparing dude to Tebow..lmao.. atleast Cole off the sidelines… tebow aint even hit the turf… When it comes to spitting real life rap..whose better? Kanye…Lupe..Joe Budden Wayne?

  18. Is this album a classic? NO !, it is too EARLY for those statements to be made, let this album breathe for awhile shit, however on this album j.cole did not disappoint, this is an excellent debut album. Other than the bad order of songs on this album, his shit is better than half the debuts that came out this year. I would note J.cole did not stay true to himself on some songs on this album, like i feel like hes trying to gain new fans from all different type of aspects, which he was aiming for at one time he stated in an interview, But he has songs like “lights please, Gods Gift, Never Told, Sideline Story,Breakdown, RISE N SHINE,Nobodys perfect,Dollar and a dream 3, and lost ones” that he stills stays true to himself and provides that fresh hip hop sound. Then he has the laid back vibe type joints like “CGE,WORKOUT,In the morning” which is not the best lyrically but it is far from bad tracks. I would give this album a 8.5/10. Like i said it is way to early to be callin this album a classic, in time we shall see. Cole World 9/7 ! go cop a copy tuesday and support GOOD MUSIC.

  19. album is VERYY good 8/10 at least

  20. Yeah its pretty dope it can kinda be compared to kanye’s debut…because although college dropout was great it wasnt a classic to me…i hated workout plan, school spirit and slow jamz…and on cole world i hated work out, mr nice watch, and cole world was ehh……so although many ppl called college dropout a classic i disagree and i bet many people will call cole world a classic…i also disagree lol but both great debuts

  21. Section 80 = Album of the Year.

  22. That show was fuckin’ amazing. First post ever on 2DOPEBOYZ.

  23. j.cole is the new 2pac and kendrick lamar is the new biggie. there is nobody in hip hop lyrically better than them right now.

  24. @hiiipower

I hope you realize what you’ve done. Now everybody’s gonna have extra motivation for their hating ass comments and blame the fans for liking their music too much.

  25. J. Cole is the next J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar is the next Kendrick Lamar. That’s it. Shut the fuck up otherwise.

  26. can you name 2 other rappers right now better than cole and kendrick. cole and kendrick both have the best albums I ever heard in the last 5 years. so you shut the fuck up hater.

  27. @hiipower Lil Wayne is the best ever, not dick riding just bein honest #C4boom !

  28. top 5 rappers right now. tied for #1. j. cole and kendrick lamar. #2. drake. #3. lil wayne. #4. rick ross. #5. eminem. lil wayne is not the best ever he is top 20 of all time. eminem is the best ever.

  29. And no one gives a fuck who your favorite rapper is.

  30. j. cole is my favorite rapper. y u hating?

  31. The fact that J Cole is your favorite rapper is a sign that your just a young fan and probably havent honestly listened to alot of the other talented rappers out there. So its easy for you to say Kendrick and J Cole is better then everybody but personally I dont think they have proved it enough to make that claim believable. Regardless of my personal opinion on it, most people would say Drake is the best outta the new class of rappers. Then you still got Currensy, Big Sean, Wiz, Skyzoo, Jay Rock, Fashawn, Wale and B.O.B who all can arguably compete and if Jay Elec drops something in the next couple of months then he still apart of that new class.

  32. How are you gonna tell this “hiiipower” dude who his favorite rapper should or shouldn’t be? It’s personal opinion, you douche.

Anyway, let’s not compare Cole and Kendrick to Pac and Biggie. Let’s compare Cole and Kendrick to Cole and Kendrick.

  33. Yea hiiipower is young..go listen to “Food & Liquor” and “The Cool” albums by Lupe Fiasco..both came out within the last 5 years and both are lyrically better than Section 80 and Cole World..only difference is Kendrick and Cole are easier to relate to

  34. I’m a big fan of lupe fiasco and own all his music. I feel j. cole and kendrick lamar albums are way better than lupe’s album. I’m 22 and have been listening to rap music for over 10 years. I probably know more about rap than any of you older guys.

  35. Just cause you have listened to rap ten years doesnt mean you understand whats dope. If I told you Big Sean, verse for verse and song for song is just as dope you would disagree but you’ve just painted anything that acts anti commercial rap as greater thats all.

  36. ^^ C’mon son… you’re getting emo cuz dude criticized you.. the notion that you at 22 “know more about rap than us older guys”. You already proved your ignorance by saying Cole is the new 2pac and Kendrick is the new Biggie (which REALLY makes no sense). It’s cool to like whoever you like, just don’t compare new rappers to legends until they are at least a few albums deep in the game..

  37. I have respect for 2pac and biggie but I feel j. cole and kendrick lamar has already proven they will be greatest. biggie only had 2 albums and j. cole already have 3 mix tapes and his new cd that are way better than biggie cds. I live in canada and they do not even play biggie and 2pac songs on the radio at all.

  38. It’s not just about the music, it’s also about the impact that they can leave on music. I’m a huge Kendrick Lamar fan, but he still has a very long ways to go before you can even begin to compare him to any legends.

  39. never compare big sean with cole…EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

  40. “they do not even play biggie and 2pac songs on the radio at all.”

Okay…now that’s kind of a stupid statement. Because an artist isn’t [now] getting radio plays determine their skills? Then Gucci Mane is obviously the best rapper alive, right?

  41. You talking about what Kendrick and J Cole is gonna do, meaning they aint did much yet? When the fact is that Pac and Big were already hugely successful when they were younger then Kendrick and J Cole. How old were you in 93-96 anyway? Do you think you have the same perspective as somebody who was in high school when they were both alive and smashing in the rap game? Maybe but not likely. Pac died at 25 and Biggie died at 24 and left a huge mark in the game. So if these two were the same as Pac and Big they would be legends already, which they are not. You saying Cole mixtapes and album are better then Bigs albums? That is completely crazy cause 1st of all Big been dead since 97 and his style was already 10x better then Cole, now imagine if he was still alive. Now comparing Pac to Kendrick you gotta be out your mothafucking mind.

  42. Pac sold more then 10 million records by the time he was Kendricks age and thats after doing a year in jail and recovering from gunshots and shooting more then 5 major movies. Big actually has three cds counting Life after Death as two cause its a double cd and people were saying he was top three before that album even came out. Kendrick and Cole are dope but dont just say crazy shit you know is bullshit.

  43. Where do these 2Pac/Biggie comparisons/better-thans come from? Fuck what you FEEL, what are you superstans basing this flawed thinking off of? Because on paper none of it makes sense. Adding to what Marty said (though I don’t think Pac sold more than 10 million albums by the time he was a few months passed 24), people forget how young they were and ALREADY in the game, not just dropping first albums, not talking about cosigns from old heads, in a time where only singles were dropped to radio and videos kept them in the public ear, not a mixtape or flooding the internet with interviews every other day. Music aside, just stature alone they can’t even be compared. People act like outside of hip-hop blogs and the people that follow them, people know who kendrick is. 2Pac’s name rang bells throughout music, hanging with madonna and shit lol, and not just music alone. Don’t let what you conjure up in your brain while your headphones are on lead you to believe some wild shit.

  44. At the end of the day no young artists or fans wanna admit any OGs are still dope. Once your over 25 your no longer cool to young people. I get it and thats all good with me but the problem is ya’ll dont really make no sense when you claim a new artist is legendary status when they just barely hitting the mainstream. Do yall even see Lupe anymore? @Actual/Factual yeah Pac didnt already sell all those records by 24 but you get what im saying.

  45. Modern society is too different nowadays. TV media stories ruled the world moreso back then because they chose what we like. We choose what we encounter online. Quit the comparisons. Everything is way, way, waaay too different.

  46. I swear, as soon as Kendrick drops some kind of radio oriented single to appeal to mainstream or does some kind of feature to appeal to fans in other genres, you muthafuckas are going to drop that “next 2Pac” moniker real quick and be hollering about how he turned on you lol.

  47. ^^ you know how it goes!

  48. Yo dun on some real shit….best album since Momma Said knock you out hands down

  49. @Actual/Factual

Been saying that shit for the longest. Just waiting for it now. And for you stans, don’t get it twisted, he will do that shit. Cause Pac did it. And because once the next new thing comes around, and you toss him aside, if he doesn’t go mainstream before then, he’ll remember all the love he was getting and he’ll want it back, and he’ll turn to the mainstream. Never fails.

  50. WHYYY do people act like Pac is Jesus? i never understood that he wasnt the ONLY motivational and intense rapper ever…or the most lyrical……he was dope but its not like everything he put out was amazing…fuck that annoys me everybody gotta be compared to pac lol

  51. “have you forgotten that once we were brought here, we were robbed of our name, robbed of our language. we lost our religion, our culture, our god…and many of us, by the way we act, we even lost our minds”

God please watch over the ignorance being plagued among today’s $lander generation. you can’t fix stupid, you break it…you pay. you Canadian catch 22 nigga… you ain’t 22, come down to Brooklyn you’ll catch a 22 talkin’ shit ’bout BIG. when it comes to BIG and Brooklyn it’s religious, BIG is the patron saint of Brooklyn. this nigga A. Hole finally drops an album and you niggaz celebrating, and the shit isn’t that great, even by today’s standards. now you niggaz wanna throw legend names in the mix with these rookies? GTFO… there’s nothing inspirational or monumental with A. Hole and Kendrick Lamar releases. TSS and section80 albums will go down in time as albums with failed gimmicks and novelty. yall out here sticking yall chests out for lipstick and hi-heel music. they’re wannabe conscious rappers with contradictory messages in their music. studio artificial insemination artists with no knowledge in how the culture was created.
